Re: DarkArtist's Creations of DOOM!

MicroJow, you are in the same boat. I just need to cast the damn masks, I haven't been able to get those done. But I really want to do it for you and will.

Know what? At this point, I'm thinking even the slightest figure crossed off your list is going to help. So I'm going with plan 'A.' Unless you're completely against it, I'll send a postage paid box this weekend. Just wrap Jason & whatever parts are cast into the bubble wrap and hand it to your mailman. Perhaps it's time I got off my butt and figured out how to cast some parts myself ;) And if I figure out how to make masks, I'll make a few extras for ya!

I'm not angry and I'm not pissed off, I'm just trying to do what I think is best for you AND for me. I'm not asking for any refund, just somewhere down the line, if you come into some cash and MicroJow pops into the back of your mind, feel free to refund the postage.

And I hope once this is all over and life is back on track, you come back to these boards!

Let me know if the above works for ya!

Re: DarkArtist's Creations of DOOM!

Great signature DA :lol

If anything you still have a good sense of humor :rock

Re: DarkArtist's Creations of DOOM!

I also thought DA's prices were really low (I think that I commissioned my Ash when some kind of "sale" was on). Not knowing much of anything about his process (at first, I actually thought the figure was already made), I just assumed that it was because Josh was really efficient, had all the pieces bought in bulk and in place, etc. Had I known the real situation, I could have probably anticipated where this all went, unfortunately. I have had similar situations in my school/professional life, and it took me a lot of trial and error to get to a point where I was doing as much as I had to without getting overwhelmed.

If nothing else, I think that this thread should be a word of caution for people to avoid getting in over their head. Far better to under-estimate your abilities than to over-estimate them. Sucks to commit yourself to some goal that you can't meet, particularly when others are relying on you to do so.

EDIT: Nope still can't leave feedback :S

Re: DarkArtist's Creations of DOOM!

You have to leave feedback in the feedback thread in the commerce section.

Re: DarkArtist's Creations of DOOM!

Not a problem MicroJow, that is perfectly fine with me. I will gather the stuff for you and get it ready. That is very cool of you.

And yeah guys, my sense of humor is still intact thankfully. :lol

**It is against the rules to post PMs and therefore kl241's previous message was deleted. This has been edited to get rid of what was deleted.**

ok. look KL. how much refund are you looking at? I'll send you the money in lieu of Josh if that will satisfy you.

Let me know the amount and your paypal address and it'll be done.

Re: DarkArtist's Creations of DOOM!

PMs, that reminds me - just a quick story for Josh -

Remember the Buffy you sold me with your repainted head? Remember how I PM'd you just to let you know I was selling it on (regretfully) to raise some funds? I think that had to be over a year ago. I ended up selling the figure for about $90 and I was happy, you sold her to me for $60.

I recently logged into my never-used onesixthwarriors account and found this PM -

Hi there YoNose,

I had saw your Custom Repainted 1/6 Buffy Summers "Graduation Day" figure here:

(my photobucket account)

And I was wondering that would you be interested in selling her to me? Because I'm looking to buy one for around $250 dollars shipped to Thailand.

Let me know please. Because I'm looking to buy one and I would really love to buy her from you if you would be interested in selling her to me.

I'm just asking that's all.

So yeah, you could say you undercharged. :lol

I have no stake in what goes on here but for my .02 - keep your spirits up, try to stay civil with those you owe (even if they are not), don't forget that this will pass but your talent will remain.

Walt Disney said that every man should have a great big failure when he's young. It's an invaluable lesson and a right of passage. Take it for what it is. And as that OSW boardie did - recognize your talent and what it could be worth, once you get all this straightened out.

Good luck!

Re: DarkArtist's Creations of DOOM!

didn't walt disney also say, "hire some nazis! DO IT NOW! let's make some animations that will put the fear of god into the jews!!"

or was that another in my series of nightmares about blatantly anti-semitic historic celebrities? :rotfl

I've had similar offers for my '84 Reese from Josh... his work is top-notch :duff

Re: DarkArtist's Creations of DOOM!

Kevin, I read your post (with my special "Evil Jedi" powers) and again... and for the last time... I will explain things a bit for you.

First, as I have stated multiple times. The Ash project has had a major stumble. The head mold is having trouble with the nose area, the mold is great but the casting resin always bubbles up there and causes problems with the pull. I've tried putting in a drilled hole to the nose to see if I can get it to let out the air, but it hasn't worked. Secondly, the chainsaw mold is very tricky. It also has a lot of parts that cause air to be trapped in a variety of places. So I have been fighting with bad pulls there as well. I had the guns specially made from Stevo's Toys, which took time as well. But the primary issue is the castings, and without good castings figures are near impossible to make. So my earlier estimation on time is now irrelevant when this fact is understood.

The other thing is that the date I sent that message was BEFORE my Wife started having her problems, BEFORE school started getting intense, BEFORE I had a lot of other responsibilities, BEFORE other family complications came into my life. So the setbacks on top of bad decisions on my part, on top of the aforementioned stuff... you get the picture.

So my earlier ideas about time for completion are meaningless now, they have so epically been missed. Again, I apologize a million times for being so naive to think that I could just pump these out with ease. It was my fault. And that will be the last time I try to explain that to you. I have no doubts it will fall on deaf ears though, as the only thing you seem to understand is that I am a horrible businessman who did you wrong.

Tnaig, I want to tell you how much I appreciate what you did for me a few weeks ago. It saved my ass in ways I cannot even articulate. Without that help I would be a months behind on my rent and utilities, and would be facing much more large problems than refunds and figures. You are the best, I will make it up to you as soon as I can. :duff

And thank you all for chiming in. I have always charged low because I hate taking a lot of money for anything. I'm just not built for that. All the figures I make, I make them out of love for the work and to help my friends and peers have cooler collections. It's nice to hear that my figures have received such large offers, I would never have thought to ever ask for that much. :lol

Typical ****** move on your part trying to downplay the potential value of Josh's artistic talents.:lol:lol:lol

I think it's your ****** swishy action in the cleft of my post to put words in my post that aren't there.

*swish swish*

Re: DarkArtist's Creations of DOOM!

Josh, I am upset because you never tried to right the wrong. I know you don't have money but ignoring my pms again and again and then never even trying to correct the situation by saying an IOU or maybe here is $20 or something, that is all I ever wanted. I pmed you way before you sold that batman fig and I asked if you cant send that what else do you have maybe for trade and I got nothing from you. You showed no effort in your part but you did take my money. So quit trying to make me look like the bad guy please.

Re: DarkArtist's Creations of DOOM!

GB, I don't care if you know, I want him to know. He has ignored me time and time again, the posts aren't for you or pixeltwit. And judging by my pms, there are a lot of members that agree with me but are afraid to say anything because of all your Kurgans out there.

Re: DarkArtist's Creations of DOOM!

Certain things take more time then others to make things right.

There has been no indication he is disappearing and has stated multiple times that he is not. Though if people constantly go into attack mode I wouldn't blame him one bit if he said to hell with you all.

He has come on here time and time again and explained things, given some updates here and there, but its never good enough. He is way far behind, he has personal problems. He's gone into more detail about his life than I ever would have.

____ happens to everyone and sometimes the rain cloud hangs over people longer than others. The storm will pass and one way or another this will be made right.

Trust me I want my ____ too, but constantly ragging on him, _____ing and moaning is not helping the situation at all. It was nice that he posted some pics for everyone to see some progress being made and I would encourage him to do that more often. Even if its once a week its at least something. That way people would see things getting completed and might calm some anxiety. But, the fact remains he is still here and he is still chipping away. :peace
