Doh! I forgot to post my pics...at least others are posting good pics. I thought he looked good so fans should be happy. I still don't see the justification for the price but if that's not an issue for ya, looks good so far!
Price was a BIG issue for me. Unless this piece is as large as Apocalypse, there's no justifying the $600 price tag on this PF. If he's as large as Apoc, I'll feel like it was appropriately priced. If he's as large as a standard PF, I'll feel like SSC committed highway robbery on those of us that POd him. At the time of the Darkseid PO a standard PF was retailing at $400. This piece retailed at $600. That's a $200 difference. I hope there's something to show for it. Either way, my eyes were fully open when I POd him. I really liked the sculpt and love the character so there's no way I was passing on this Darkseid PF. However, if this PF turns out to be in the same scale as the Supes or Bats PFs, I'll truly feel like SSC raked us over the coals as far as pricing is concerned.

Pics from the other day. I get the need for display cases but the glare from them was irritating for those of us without fancy-schmancy camera setups.

I wish Darkseid was bigger--seemed kinda comparable to Lobo body-wise though the different display levels of the two made it a bit difficult to get an accurate comparison between the two. I would have preferred the figure be an inch or so taller and much broader. That being said, he's pretty damn impressive in-person so I'm glad I have him preordered.

Man I want to love this piece but deep down in my heart I feel he is more lobo sized and not Apocalypse sized. Having seen Lobo at my lCS next to superman and Batman I did not think his size justified the $600 price tag. I will give credit and thought a lot of detail went into him. Also, when looking at Lobo I could just tell he was hollow egg shell on the inside. I cant explain it but I'm starting to feel like I can visually see a difference in the surface texture when a piece is hollow vs the older more solid cast pieces. I guess all I'm saying is at this point I don't feel like I'm getting my $600 worth from SS on this one.

Except for the fact that Lobo is as tall as Batman at his head and is on a shorter base and Batman is an Over Sized PF. That Means Lobo is effin huge.

Lobo is definitely a big piece. I have him so I can say that with certainty. However, Apocalypse is thicker. I was hoping for the same with Darkseid.

I think his legs will be but his arms and chest will probably be about the same size. So I doubt Darkseid will be as big as Apocalypse. In all Honesty are we getting a big Darkseid yes, just not the Darkseid that should nearly be the size of the Gladiator Hulk we should have got.
