The regular head looks better anyway.

I like the EX portrait. However, I wish they would have painted his teeth white. The fact that they painted his teeth with what looks like the same color as his skin....it just doesn't look right.

Unfortunately my final payment has been delayed until May. As for the teeth on the EX portrait, I totally agree with the paint looking too similar to the skin. I was thinking of using a black wash to bring the teeth out more.

I'm waiting to see if the Exclusive goes back up, otherwise I will probably just linger for a while and see how the Prime1 version turns out and what the aftermarket pricing looks like. I do want to get this statue. I really hate it when SS plays fast and loose with coming clean about scale as they did with Green Lantern. They probably know full well that folks are confused as to how big this which is why they aren't showing it side by side with Superman. Darkseid is supposed to be 8'9" according to specs (in which case the figure itself should be 26" but that's the size of the overall piece). I'd even settle for 8' ", but it may actually clock in closer to 7'6, if not smaller since we don't know the base height to his back foot, but it's probably 3-4" I'd guess. If this statue is not decently scaled then it's $50-$100 overpriced IMO. I would get the EX for the change-o head though, but without the additional portrait, I'll wait for a sale and in-hand reviews.

Now that Prime1 has announced their (superior in my view) version, I can return this without losing out on a darkseid statue for my collection.

that's exactly my point. even the small hints at their creation put it in another league. Plus, their paint quality (and more importantly consistency) puts SS to shame.

Is is much larger, will likely have light up eyes, and superior paint.

the only downside is that it isn't a classic rendition.

I have the SS one coming, but am glad to have another option should I not be satisfied with it.

That doesn't make that statue superior, it's not even done.

Just wait for the usual cycle to play out with Prime 1 like every company experiences. After 5 or 6 major characters are released we'll see complaints about the qc, it's happened with XM and it happens with everyone.

New 52 futzed everything up. Will be very happy if this piece sizes in at Kirby scale for the character.
