No, Hasbro 12" Maul does NOT have the buttons. That's where I first noticed it. Not sure about the 3 3/4" figure.

Not a big deal at all. I'm keeping my "buttons" as is for now. I don't think they take anything away...but there are NOT accurate...for those that care.

:D

Looks like the Maul on the left could hit the treadmill!

I like the natual colors.

What kind of lighting do you use Magnuz?

I've always just used two lamps which can produce mixed results. I often have to adjust things in photoshop cause colors don't come out correctly or the photos are too yellow.

That picture was taken using a photocube, it's a white nylon tent that diffuses the heavy lamp light and bathes the item more naturally. I've had one for a while but the old camera couldnt take good pictures with it, so i'm trying it out with the new one. I've always had trouble taking pics of 12" figs cause they are so big, trying to get a good overall setup.

If your new camera has the option, you can try an externally mounted flash with and adjustable head, that's what I use.

wow thats a great shot of maul, man!!good job!!:D ..i would've thot a 'dark' fig liek him would be hard to shoot..damn u pulled it off nicely...against a black bg too!!think i gotta try something like this..thanks for sharing man..looking forward to more shots from u..:rotfl

on a sidenote, did u do something to his upper lips area to blacken that part??care to share??heehee

Alot of my pics are in this thread, all of them are here:
https://www.fwooshnet.com/mag/darthmaul.php

But they are with my old camera so the quality is not as good, and i was using a mroe harsh lighting setup so he's alot darker.

Here's the headshot:

I used testors flat black and touched up areas, got rid of the red upper lip and most of the red lower lip, most shots in general only the inner area of the lip is red not the lips themselves, so i preferred it this way to how he came out of the box.

The paint does work good, I PMed Magnuz about it and I went out and used it on my Maul, very nice. However, not every FLAT testors paint comes out with the matte look the black did, I used some other FLAT shades on other figures and it came out really glossy, was very disappointed, but I'm new to painting figures so my fault for not knowing what I was doing.

A little late in the game but I was overjoyed to receive both the Maul inclusive figure and Qui Gon from the Fedex guy today!:monkey5

I will post pics tomorrow!:chew

cool pix magnuz! this looks to be a great 12" im lookin foward to when i get mine :)
the amount of poses you can use is awsome :maul

I got my Darth Maul Inclusive this morning and it was such a huge let down.
I've been patiently awaiting my Darth Maul for a while since Sideshow was nice enough to hold on to it for me until I had enough to pay. I opened the box up took Maul out and do what I always do, start moving the joints to get them unstuck since new figures have a tendency of stiff joints. When I got to his left arm, the upper arm twist joint wouldn't budge. I tried a little pressure and then a bit more until I felt his arm break apart. I investigated and what happened was the factory firmly glued this joint in place.
I contacted Sideshow immediately for a return replacement. This has been the second time I received a figure from Sideshow where the joint was glued in place.
And what was even worst was that I was just starting to feel better about my broken DID Samurai I got just two days before (also in the replacement phase).
I thought I'd share a couple of pics before I box him up and send him back. The paint on my Maul's face was excellent, I hope the replacement will be just as good.
Please excuse the poor quality:

In those last two shots, Maul is holding up the arm pieces that were permanently glued together, they should be two separate pieces like the one at his feet.
I'm not happy. :(

it is unfortunate, but at least Sideshow has top notch customer care that will take care of you, some companies might shaft you into getting a credit or something but at least Sideshow seems to go the extra mile to make sure you have what you ordered in top condition.

That really sucks about your Maul. Had it been his waist you could have probably sold it on eBay for $$$ :lol "Rare Darth Maul figure final duel version from Sideshow! Sold out" :rotfl

If it helps, the only "bad" paint job I have seen was King's and his only needed a line or two to connect the "mustache" to the rest of the black areas - not a huge problem at all. I'm very surprised how consistant the rest have been since the pattern isn't as easy to do as a regular face would be.
