I got my Darth Maul Inclusive this morning and it was such a huge let down.
I've been patiently awaiting my Darth Maul for a while since Sideshow was nice enough to hold on to it for me until I had enough to pay. I opened the box up took Maul out and do what I always do, start moving the joints to get them unstuck since new figures have a tendency of stiff joints. When I got to his left arm, the upper arm twist joint wouldn't budge. I tried a little pressure and then a bit more until I felt his arm break apart. I investigated and what happened was the factory firmly glued this joint in place.
I contacted Sideshow immediately for a return replacement. This has been the second time I received a figure from Sideshow where the joint was glued in place.
And what was even worst was that I was just starting to feel better about my broken DID Samurai I got just two days before (also in the replacement phase).
I thought I'd share a couple of pics before I box him up and send him back. The paint on my Maul's face was excellent, I hope the replacement will be just as good.
Please excuse the poor quality:

In those last two shots, Maul is holding up the arm pieces that were permanently glued together, they should be two separate pieces like the one at his feet.
I'm not happy. :(

Ouch! Man that sucks.

I think it's just being drowned out by the light shining on quigon

it is unfortunate, but at least Sideshow has top notch customer care that will take care of you, some companies might shaft you into getting a credit or something but at least Sideshow seems to go the extra mile to make sure you have what you ordered in top condition.
I've done quite a few returns with Sideshow, I was really hoping I wouldn't have to with Maul. Never had a problem in the returns process, so I'm sure I'll get a replacement, I just hope the head sculpt looks as good as the one I received.

So far, I've only done returns and replacements with Hot Toys and Sideshow with no problems. Hot toys even sent me replacement goggles without pictures or return of the broken one.
DID got back to me yesterday and they'll work on replacing my broken Samurai Helmet but they're understaffed because of the Holidays and it will be a little slow going.
No word yet from Sideshow, but it takes a few days for my RMA # and return label.

It does look great even without the Kabuto. This figure proves that accurate 1/6 scale armor can be done affordably. Hope Sideshow gets some wind up their sail to release a medieval Kurgan while looking at one.

After having maul for a few days i'm buying the the new HT body for him. The standard SS body is now **** to me,maul just looks like a hasbro doll with a great sculpt.I can't pose him the way i want his arm joints are loose and he just looks unnatural as he sits posed.I tried to look past it with obi and others but not with maul..Maul deserves better!(anyone put the HT body on him i know i saw the dragon body on him and could tell a big difference thx?.)

Not on him (only because my Maul hasn't arrived yet - that's the first thing I'll do when he does!), but I swapped Luke's body with a HT body and let me tell you, it's like a whole different figure. Really, REALLY worth the investment, IMO.

But you'll probably want to purchase some loose boots for Maul and Luke though, so that you don't miss out on the awesome ankle articulation. The more recent German soldiers from Dragon come with some pretty flexible boots.

The sideshow hard plastic boots really suck imo. It just makes the figure look clunky and unrealistic when posed in something other than standing straight up.

Great thats what i like to hear. Was the HS a easy swap?
awesome! I wonder about the white body though maybe have to paint it a little black?

'zackly. Luke's boots are awful, and from the pics I've seen of Maul, the boots look real clunky (though people say they're not taht bad in person). The articulation on the HT bodies allow the figures to pull off some pretty cool action poses (providing you use flexible boots), with both feet planted on the ground.

Seth - yeah, real easy. HT bodies come with two types of neck posts... just remove the head from the Sideshow body and it fits like a glove on the shorter HT neck post. Just use a drop or two of superglue to fix the head to the post and you're set! You'll notice that the neck articulation will also improve tenfold...

And about the white body... I assume if you just paint black around the neck area you'll be fine. I don't have a Maul figure yet, so I don't know how much of the body ends up being exposed or not...

Pretty much only the neck and upper chest area, and maybe alittle up the wrists could be exposed.

IMO the maul boots dont look all that bad, but who really stands on the sides of the bottom of their boots when in an action pose?

Hehe, you'll see it is totally worth it.

I'll try and post a few pics of my Luke mod over the weekend.
