It amazes me that things like this slip through their quality control

hola, confirmo que mi darth vader también está bizco del ojo izquierdo,
esto es indignante. ¿que debemos hacer? , colgar al chino del control de calidad, quitar el ojo izquierdo al control de calidad de SS? :slap:slap:slap:mad::mad::mad

Hi, I confirm that my darth vader is also squint the left eye,
this is outrageous. What should we do? , Hang the Chinese quality control, remove the left eye to quality control of SS?

Anyone happen to know exactly what the portrait is made of?
I can't tell...feels like a very light hollow resin...

The helmet is definatley plastic. Much like Iron Man 1:2 was made of Wafer.

Are you sure ? I doubt the helmet is entirely made of plastic since I didn't hear something related in the previous reviews from those who actually received it and had it between their hands, besides I remember some mentioned helmet was quite heavy which quite doesn't sound like if it was plastic.

And furthermore, I don't see why Master Replicas was able to pull out 1:1 scale helmets fully made of fiberglass and Sideshow couldn't do the same.

The head problem is different cause some of the reviewers told the head was surprisingly light, this is why some are doubting it is actually made of resin even if it was hollow. I really hope Sideshow didn't cut the corners as much as it appears.

The head feels almost like a lightweight PVC product. The only thing that adds any weight to it at all is the black pieces around the neck, which are probably polystone.

The helmet feels like fiberglass and sounds like fiberglass when tapped. While it is pretty heavy, I think it's hollow cast.

You have to understand that polystone is also plastic ;)

Actually I searched on the web a clear definition of the word polystone and it seems that it's far from being easy and comprehensive, some will say it's a compound made of resin and plastic, others resin and minerals, etc .. It appears it can depend on the use you will have with the final product made of this thing.

Though, I found an interesting link which can clarify some points about the different materials used for general collectibles:
