Re: Darth Vader life-size Bust

Why do I always picture you as a General leading an army of collector nerds when I see posts like this?

:D

Re: Darth Vader life-size Bust

I dont mind a deposit but if production is in any way shape or form not up to par with this proto used as a representation of what I'm buying, I should be able to get a full refund without issue.

Re: Darth Vader life-size Bust

Best Sideshow piece at the Con IMO..Anyone not liking the facesculpt or finding inacurrate stuff about the Helmet is a dweeb IMO.I saw some ridiculous comments in this thread by guys who have only a couple 12'' in their collection and trying to put down this Amazing Bust ..Obviously you are too poor to own this and thats just sour grapes talking. This bust is what high-end is all about..This thing will be a masterpiece for ages.. and if they dont do too much of them, this will obviously rise immensly in value...

Congrats to those who are buying...:rock

Yeah this is a hell of a Vader piece and thats saying something.

I see the inaccuracies and I'm still tempted, but at that price, for a non-wearable version, I'd rather spend a little over half that and buy an accurate, wearable one. Finances notwithstanding.
Honestly, I don't have any problems with the head-sculpt other than having to remove it to close the helmet.
Anyone who buys it and enjoys it, great! but for me, the grail piece is an accurate wearable full scale Vader Reveal helmet only tied with a full sized Ark of the Covenant from Raiders..

Honestly, even with the inaccuracies, if this were a wearable piece, I'd still consider picking it up. Even at the price they are asking.

Fair enough IMO.

Re: Darth Vader life-size Bust

Well I was looking at the 1:2 Iron Man, the deposit states non-refundable.

Looks like if you're going to get the Ex. edition and there really is a required deposit, going to have to pretty much commit to keeping the order, otherwise it's money just pissed away.

Re: Darth Vader life-size Bust

What doesn't make sense to me is why deposit only on the Ex., what's $50 more, I'm curious to see the display base for the helmet and if it's something so fancy it makes sense why not produce that unnecessarily or something.

I would think if a deposit is required it'd be for both versions.

Re: Darth Vader life-size Bust

My guess is that it's required for both versions and something just got lost in translation. But it would be interesting if the stand is something amazing. We haven't actually seen it yet, have we?

Re: Darth Vader life-size Bust

Nope, Dave just posted that a stand is what it is.

Something like this would be sufficient, it beats just sitting the thing on a table or whatever, but I am curious if Sideshow decided to better it and really make something of a display piece out of the stand.

Re: Darth Vader life-size Bust

For something like that I think I'll pass on the exclusive, not really worth it, I'd have it displayed one way and if there's accessories I will just put them away.

Re: Darth Vader life-size Bust

This for me is defin a piece i can see myself growing old with :peace

Re: Darth Vader life-size Bust

I suspect we might get a Q3 date on the order page, and it will be bumped into Q3 somewhere down the road.

For sure! I found a place to display it where it won't conflict with my OT-only theme. I will probably even use reward points--I'm that sure about it.

I will also be using my rewards points on this piece as it a must have for me I think they should do a 8-10 month flex pay on this to really make it easier for people to afford it. Just a thought. I'm still getting one though!!!

I'll buy it... THANKS General Shai :D

Re: Darth Vader life-size Bust

You know what guys?! it would be great If the exclusive stand was the missing part to complete the helmet, another neck part of the mask so that you can display the full Vader Mask next to the Darth Vader Reveal Bust, that would be awesome!

That would be very cool, and for the extra $50, it need only be the outer part, doesn't have to have all the details inside.

I see what you're saying, and I think that's a good idea. Otherwise, we're going to be displaying half a helmet.
