Re: Darth Vader life-size Bust

$1200, huh. definitely beyond my price range. actually, i CAN afford to get it. the problem is for that amount of money, i'd have to sacrifice too many other collectibles that i also want. and that's just not a feasible option, investment-wise. i'd be missing out on too many things. :(

anyway, it's interesting to hear some of u seeing anger or anything sith-like in the anakin expression. what i see is a tired old man who is trying to maintain his pride and dignity, and a tinge of sadness in his eyes. it's an excellent headsculpt, feels very evocative to me, and one of the best sideshow has ever done in terms of conveying a character's emotional core.

a true grail piece.

get this! this is one that will grow old with you. I'm not so certain that my 12" can do that for me :D

Re: Darth Vader life-size Bust

I figure getting the exclusive (even though it means tying up $250) is a good one. Especially if at some point I come to my senses I'll likely reclaim all of the money I've spent... may even make a profit.

The idea of the stand being the lower neck is a pretty good one, and would definitely justify the extra cost.

Re: Darth Vader life-size Bust

Finally read this thread front to back and I had ups and downs, I really want this piece... Price of the piece really didn't effect me that much but that damn deposit sure as hell does... :banghead:banghead:banghead

I'm feeling sick...

Re: Darth Vader life-size Bust

Well I was looking at the 1:2 Iron Man, the deposit states non-refundable.

Looks like if you're going to get the Ex. edition and there really is a required deposit, going to have to pretty much commit to keeping the order, otherwise it's money just pissed away.

Although I see how you will have to commit if you put a deposit down, I agree that if this is anything less than the prototype then they should honor a refund....

I mean, if the production piece isn't as nice then when should we be forced to settle for less???

Re: Darth Vader life-size Bust

Would glady preorder this, but like most people, that deposit is kind of upsetting

Re: Darth Vader life-size Bust

Here's where I stand.

If it turns out either version requires a deposit, I will without question order the Ex.

If only the Ex. version requires a deposit, then it'll come down to whether or not I really care about getting the stand, if I don't feel it adds enough to front the money now I'll pass.

Whatever scenario I go with, I am going to order this thing.

Re: Darth Vader life-size Bust

Oh I'm going to order this thing too no matter what.
If both require a deposit than yes the exclusive will be bought!
:chew

Re: Darth Vader life-size Bust

reckon i could persuade someone to sell the stand for $150 shipped?

Not if the Exclusive is the only one requiring a deposit, anyone who opts to put money down for it is going to be committed to keeping it I would think, but good luck.

Re: Darth Vader life-size Bust

I think this could end up being a "vulture" item. Ill just wait til the hype goes down and people pick it apart enough where the value will go down and pick it up later at a lesser price...::crosses fingers:: :monkey3

Re: Darth Vader life-size Bust

Not taking any risks with this one. Saving a hundred or two against the chance I might miss it is not a chance I will take. :)

Re: Darth Vader life-size Bust

I have a question about this life size bust

It is possible to put the helmet By top (on) the head of Sebastian Shaw?

Thank you in advance, for your answer

Re: Darth Vader life-size Bust

Nope, Dave just posted that a stand is what it is.

Something like this would be sufficient, it beats just sitting the thing on a table or whatever, but I am curious if Sideshow decided to better it and really make something of a display piece out of the stand.

There are some cool fan made stands that could replace the exclusive one if people buy the regular bust (as I intend to) ;)

Someone posted that the Exclusive edition would require a $250, non-refundable deposit at the time of placing your order.

Will the regular need a deposit as well? This is because I'm thinking of ordering my regular from other etailers. Are there other retailers going to carry this bust as they did with all other busts and SS products?
