My point was eFX didn't create their own stormtrooper helmet.

Indeed but they made a few more for people who missed the MR version and also improved the paint apps.

Anyway back on topic, why is taking so long for SS to give an edition number for the regular too?

Because Regular Editions have higher numbers and may be more driven by sales. It'll still be a limited piece, but I think the Ex. versions are a more pre-determined edition.

With the deposit, the Regular will probably be slow to reach sell out, if it does, so it could be some time before we get an ES.

Hello fellow collectors,
Curious how movie accurate is the Vader life size bust helm not factoring the electronic innards etc.
I collect props and this is kind of cool, I just like my stuff to be accurate.
Any way to order something this from a distributor of SS from Canada to somehow bypass shipping?

Regards,

Check out chinook hobby west. From Calgary, but you may be disappointed from what people are saying, this thing is a nice representation, but the farthest thing from being screen accurate...

It will be interesting to see how the after market price plays out down the road on the regular.

Well from my personal experience, not many SW items from SS sell very well in the aftermarket

the only thing I've seen hold it's value is the Darth Maul 1:1 and the Grievous PF exclusive...

why is it such a disappointment if it's not EXACTLY screen accurate?! It looks pretty darn similar I'd say. And the reveal/face sculpt feature is just pretty dang awesome. I agree that having the screen accuracy is DEF a plus, but this piece has lots of other features to distract you from it not being completely screen accurate

Your preaching to the choir buddy. I could care less for 100% screen accuracy. I mentioned he will probably be disappointed because he stressed the importance of screen accuracy in his question. I really cant tell the differences (mask on) which is why I mentioned it is what a majority of of people are saying. When you look at the reveal, its not accurate to Return of the Jedi, even I can tell that. But i personally think this reveal is more visually stunning on the bust, than in the movie. My only disappointment is no glass eyes

No glass eyes kills it for me, I hate that sideshow doesn't take than one extra step on these really cool busts to make them that much more life like....

:(
Yea. I agree.
I just thank the heavens that They included it in the Arnold 1:1 bust.
It would have been such a waste of sculpt if they didnt.

look past absolute screen accuracy! look towards the artist's point of view... chances are, the piece was created by a sculptor with the same love for the Star Wars saga as the rest of us... why not meet him in the middle?

I've never had a bust with glass eyes, how would you add them to a solid piece of polystone?

I don't know the exact procedure but it can be done, it's just a shame it's not, the dead life less look of the SS busts keep me away...

I'm guessing it would require halves to be assembled and they don't to avoid a seem line, just a thought.

I've never seen glass before, so I don't know what I'm missing or not, but Vader will be my first 1:1 human portait with human eyes, so I'm curious how they'll look in hand. Palpatine and Maul have fake Sith eyes. They look plenty alive to me though.

Glass eyes just enhance the busts by 10 times I think, they reflect/refract/etc...like real eyes and that just gives so much more life than a glossy paint job...

On some of the T2 busts I have seen the gap/patch from placing the glass eyes is more apparent than on others. It is much more difficult to do glass eyes on a bust that is polystone as opposed to silicone/latex.

I didn't find the eyes to be disappointing in person, but of course that was the SDCC display.

Oh and what glaring innaccuracies are really riling the SW crowd lately ....

I hope its as good as you say, I mean its VADER!:horror

no, totally just adding my point of view... please understand, in posting this, i do respect everyone's point of view! if screen accuracy is one's thing, i get it...

No. no offence.
I was just stating that 100% accuracy does not matter to me. I don't collect props and never well. I am grateful for this piece to be made.
