Vader will stay on top of my shelves, I thought he would stay on the left one but now I think I'll put him on the opposite side with the MR Stormie helmet next to him.

How did Sideshow arrive at the design for the inside of the face-mask? I've never seen that, I've only seen the ROTS one. I was under the impression that this a ROTS'ish version.

If the helmet was fixed right I'd consider it, but that's what makes me steer away from it and it's easy to tell the difference from that from the movie one. The face mask part looks great, but I'd rather buy a fan-made helmet and mount that on a custom stand. Can't say I'd really display it with the helmet/mask off.

I would assume somewhere, LFL has reference material for the design as of ROTJ and being based on that, Sideshow went with that as opposed to the ROTS design, certainly this one is much simpler from a production standpoint, but I'm sure LFL wouldn't just allow an old abritrary design. Even though we've never seen it, Lucas seemed to document everything from all angles so I'm sure somewhere there are photos of the mask interior design in the archives and we've just never seen it.
Man, I just sold my MR Vader helmet...... And I thought I was going to use those funds to purchase one of these

ya unfortunately this bust brought the helmet down and also the guy on ebay who sells the custom 1:1 vader has been having problems moving it
I'm sure for a lot of people the MR mas was to act as a sort of bust in their collections, but now with an actual bust that's helmet, cape and shoulder armor, not just the helmet, plus Anakin's portrait, there is more bust value in this piece, and not a huge price difference.

Just called Sideshow today, asked to switch over to FLEXPAY
Smart call my friend it is so much less of a whack on the wallet when they only take $200 a month rather than $1000 at once. This was my first flex-pay and if it wasn't for that option I would not be having this piece be added to my collection.
Eh, it's how the hobby works...... All about timing. Right now I have more important things to worry about. When I am better off financially I'll be looking to pick up the SS Vader 1:1
