All the DCCU flicks have opened up with weekends over 100 million as well.

Re: DC's "Suicide Squad" (August 5th, 2016)

it did everything right, them picking the trailer company to edit the movie worked like a charm. as well as adding all those songs at the beginning. the trailer company definitely knew what they were doing.
I could see other companies getting the trailer company to edit their movies. im not even joking.

as much flack as the first 20 minutes get because of the whole cut controversy, it's still one of my favorite chunks of the film, the editing and music a long with the quick "splash" page intros kick absolute ass.

Re: DC's "Suicide Squad" (August 5th, 2016)

I hated those. :lol
Not only because they looked cheap as hell, but because the rest of the film is too stylistically different.

Re: DC's "Suicide Squad" (August 5th, 2016)

Really? Different strokes for different folks I guess.

The only one that bothered me is Rick Flags, it looks like some crappy Photoshop American wallpaper behind him. But Deadshot's intro with that black keys cover, and the bullets raining down.... :drool

Re: DC's "Suicide Squad" (August 5th, 2016)

the intros were fun, It would have been much more cooler if it was intended that way. I like what they did but you can tell some of it was tacked on.

That trailer company should be in charge of editing Justice League (again im not joking) they could bring some fun to Snyder's darkness.

There's a parallel with the popularity of, say, Taylor Swift. . .because, uh, she's also great, like this movie.

it's more like transformers. people love them, critics hate them, they make hundreds of millions

but people don't go out of their way to pay 14$ to listen to Bad Blood.

There's too much supply for things like Taylor Swift.

Comparing the two doesn't make much sense, just because they are popular.

it makes sense when you have to pay like 100 to see her live. if anything she makes 3 times per tour what suicide squad box office will be.

Rob Zombie has commented on this. he used to say that making movies for him was not profitable like being on tour. one quick european tour would get him what he gets for directing 5 times over, he would explain his directing was just because he wanted to create different things but he would certainly not do movies for the money alone.

sure her songs cost 99 cents, but seeing her live is another matter, she usually sells out. VIP tickets or meet and greet can go from 500 to 2000 dollars

Taylor Swift has won awards and has a good voice.

I think a better music example is justin bieber to suicide squad. critics laugh at him and people hate him and attack him but he still sells out concerts and his fans are extremely loyal. his fans are very devoted, kind of like how ss fans are being loyal to the movie.

Will it top box office in weekend #4??? Very weak competition, so maybe...

Re: DC's "Suicide Squad" (August 5th, 2016)

Besides I love me some Transformers 3D. :lol

Oh, god Jye. :yuck

Well of course, Rob Zombie's movies would never make 572 million. :lol

He's gonna make money touring, he's a musician. So again, comparing the two or even their professions doesn't make much sense.

my point was that people wont pay 14 for bad blood
but they will pay 100 to see her, would anyone pay 100 dollars to see suicide squad?
