Batman doesn't get there IMO, just not as as clear a vision for him, he feels like three batman statue smooshed together.

He most certainly had the potential to be the best IMO, however, he was not perfect out of the box. Tailoring, Long neck etc.

If they had executed the tailoring and done cape over portrait like sups I would have been over the moon happy. Would have easily take the top spot.

Got a new project starting today which involves the Superman PF. Aswell as creating a new dioramic Fortress of Solitude base and display for the PF, I'm also repainting the original Sideshow base, which was too blue for my liking...

so having it painted more whiter...more updates to follow soon

I agree, man. Not just with what you said, but to include a better painted face too. Don't really care about the cape over portrait issue, but I can see what you're talking about. The way SS executed it with Supes makes it all flow that much better.

If I wasn't familiar with the Superman PF, I wouldn't know how or if the head sculpt could be removed. Supes looks to be all one piece. With Batman, you can easily identify that the head sculpt can be removed. I'd be holding hands with Josh, skipping around, and singing a different tune if SS had executed the Bats production better.

I'm hoping the Batman regs look better and better as they're released in batches. So far they're looking that way. If so, I absolutely wouldn't mind picking him up to accent Superman.

Yeah, The darker face to me is minor as I can have that fixed professionally down the road. Because he is dimly lit in my case the face looks ok to me. I can't change that cape head issue.

Superman tops Captain America and Red Skull for Statue of the Year. Simply put, it's flawless and iconic. When coupled, that pairing is hard to topple.

I disagree. Not trying to take away anything from this Superman. I personally think is the best representation of the character I've ever seen in statue form by a wide margin. But so is that Allied Cap. I had my doubts, and was very close to cancelling it a couple times but when it came in it far exceeded my expectations.
It doesn't have as wide a range of prime viewing angles as Superman does, nor is it as iconic a representation because of the artistic license taken with the costume - but OTOH, the extent and quality of the detailing on it is off the chart and it's ultimately a more creative statement than the Superman PF (IMO).
Both of these, along with the Gentle Giant Black Widow (which is in a class all by itself) are not only among the best releases of the year, they're at the top of the list of stuff I've ever seen or owned.

There isn't one so-called Grail in existence that I would ever trade for any of these.

I'm also hard pressed to choose just one FoTY between them.

(haven't seen Hellboy, and I'm not really a fan of the character- but if people feel that's a FotY too...that just goes to show how great a year it was for these things. Something excellent for everybody!)

I think the decal shield is keeping Cap from being FotY. I got him to display with the kite and it just looks out of place on an otherwise amazing piece. Ended up deciding to sell him as a result, but still have Bats and Sups. I had Hellboy EX on order, but some others came up and had to cancel him, but he does look just as good as the DC ones.
