The final batches are supposed to come with new, revolutionized, NASA grade felt-pads to hold up for the test of time. 1 pad is designed to hold 200+ lbs without losing it's integrity. Tony Stark designed them for SS and to help out the DC line. That should resolve that leaning issue once and for all. :)

I didnt like how that one looked with the portraits on top of them. With the superman the seam can be covered so it saves space and looks good but the Batman one just didnt do it for me.

I have both and I understand what you are saying but there are more then one style and how I have my batman with the cape it just looks so good. I also can pose it in so many different ways like wrapping the cape around him as if he is covering about to jump or flare out one side and tuck the other behind like he made a dramatic move. It does add a lot with that said because its real leather and gas the shoulder mold thing I think its expensive especially when compared to superman cape. I also am not against the sculpted capes I think they look good and if you change out the pads 0 issues. Lastly having my black batman PF with the cloth cape and the modern bats with sculpted cape will provide variety amongst the same statue. I will take pics with diff poses if you want to see.

Hey guys I hope somebody can help me with my superman...it broke...and I dont know what to do....

first the pictures:

so basically the "connection" between the upper part and the legs broke its seems and now there is no stability and superman is not able to stand straight anymore...especially not if I attach the cape!

the thing is...I dont know when this happened. i bought it from a guy with 100% positive ratings on ebay (but bought outside of ebay) and i unboxed it and attached everything and it looked good and stable in the beginning I didnt notice anything. and then I wanted to put the statue somewhere else, holding the base and after i put it at its new place I saw that the upper part of the body "jumped" out of position and I saw the gap! and then we saw it...(what you see in the picture). this was a shock..and we could not explain why as nothing really happened..nothing dropped or crashed or whatever...just attached the head and cape and wanted to carry everything to its new position...

so yeah...did someone else had the same? I am surprised that this massive heavy figure is having this weak link in the middle..i thought its ONE piece. so I am asking if I should return it back (but I am not sure when it broke...and the seller didnt reply yet, i Informed him 5 minutes ago about this)

or should I try to fix it and keep it? i never did this ..can someone help me with fixing this? giving advice? If I could fix that I would keep the figure..I just want to have it stable without having fear that it breaks in the middle again when I attach the cape.... :(

or do you think I could contact sideshow with this? as said I didnt buy it from sideshow but perhaps they are offering some "repair service" or are changing the whole figure? Im quite sad and dissapointed as I started this collectible thing only months ago and this is my FIRST SIDESHOW Statue ...I was so excited about it , I even made an Unboxing video (lol) I was so amazed by the huge size but then happened this....and I dont know what to do now..

hoping for replies. :(

The same thing happened to me just last night with my Batman PF. I was dusting it, and realized that the right arm was detached from the torso. I didn't notice it before because the costume is essentially holding it in place. Like you, I've only been collecting statues for a few months, and like you, I didn't buy the statue from Sideshow. I emailed the comic shop that I bought it from, but I suspect their response will be "dude, you've had it for 6 weeks." Obviously, I should have noticed it sooner, but I unboxed it quickly and was too busy admiring it and taking pictures to notice that Batman's arm was amputated at the shoulder. :slap

Is it just the glue or is it actually broken

with my superman its def broken..you can see it on the picture and now i checked again and i see little pieces of plastic coming out ...

@nearmint: sorry to hear it...i noticed it after unboxing but im not sure if it arrived broken. it looked OK and stable first. :/

I had the same issue, same exact position, the upper half of body with Punisher PF. Wasn't quiet noticeable when on display. Good luck getting it sorted out mate

Okay, firstly I hope you paid with paypal and I would launch a claim to get your money back if the seller does not respond properly.

Onto the second issue, if the seller does not respond and if you somehow end up stuck with the piece its going to be very hard to fix but it can be done. Unfortunately your probably going to lose the cloth. The statue is put together with a seam that the cloth tucks into and is glued down because its broken in half it might be impossible to fix unless its converted to a fully sculpted piece.

A project like that is expensive, more than the statue will cost because it'lly have be repaired, resculpted and repainted.

thank you for the reply.

paypal: yes I paid with paypal and paid the extra fees so im kind of protected. I could claim the money back. but what happens if the seller is saying that the figure was OK ...

sticking together: yes I see that the suit from the upper part is still connected with the legs...so basically only the suit is holding the 2 pieces together. ..hm is there no cheaper way to glue them together? sadly it looks that its not a flat space where its broken..but as last resort i thought about putting a lot of super-glue between and hold it and see what happens?? but yes it should be clean as possible.....

aaaah first sideshow and this problems, thats ****ed up, I should buy it directly from SS... :(

Sometimes it doesn't pay to save a couple bucks

I was thinking the same thing. Sideshow does have this up for sale right?

Either way that sucks man. You just tell your story as you did here to paypal if you have to file a claim
