Didn't you say that you bought the statue a year ago? Would you refund someone for a purchase they made from you over a year ago? I wouldn't

Tough position to be in for all parties in this situation given that it has been a year since the purchase was made. I was under the impression at the beginning that it was recently purchased and broke immediately but for something that occurred a year later is a tough one.

Curious if anyone has had similar problems, I mean if it's a design flaw I would imagine Sideshow would already know about it and would work to prevent it (ie. weak magnets in other statues they were aware of it and were fairly open to assisting / fixing it with replacements etc) however if there is one Superman PF that breaks out of whatever the ES on this thing was it's a lot harder to argue.

Seems unfair to blame the seller for a statue that they did not make and was displayed for a long time in who knows what conditions.

guys i give you update with my broken superman PF in leg cause cloak weight, those who didnt know what im talking about they can look posts week ago. So me case probably going to end, ebay seller kiarenzafunnydreams dont care and he dont want contact with sideshow, im 400 USD lost beucase this piece of **** dont give a ****, sorry im furious on this guy, please be aware of him, probably today i throw out statue, thanks guys for helping me but as you can see if you find seller unfair seller you lost your money, thats it

Yeah man. It's not the eBay seller's fault at all whatsoever. I wouldn't even try to contact the seller. If it was delivered broken, then you contact the seller. That's pretty much the only time you can get a refund unless it's not as described. And even then you have 30 days. You can contact Sideshow yourself. They probably won't do anything about it. Who's to say you did accidentally break the statue while moving it? Nobody can prove anything unfortunately.

The only people who could've helped this guy was SS and I'm surprised they didn't help him at all. I think maybe they didn't believe his story that it just suddenly broke from just being displayed. Or maybe he has a zero buying re-cord with SS. It's possible SS takes into consideration how much you buy from them in order to assist you. Just a theory.

I think they definitely take into count the buying record. But i buy a lot from them. I went to them for a minor defect in my Galactus Maquette I bought from eBay. They said they couldn't help me because I didn't buy direct through them. Even though it had an open edition size. I bet owners break statues pretty regularly and try to get replacements. I understand why they wouldn't give out replacements. Especially in limited run pieces (even though superman has a massive edition size).

Madejson, you can probably make some money back from parting out the cape, head, base, and especially the suit for custom projects. Maybe not enough to break even but still better than nothing.

Which Thor, the Modern or Dark World version? Tsunamidaze put up a fix video for Mjolnir's strap for the movie version.

The modern version. I have him on top of a short bookcase. I bent down to grab a book and my forehead came in contact with the strap, snapping it off. It then fell on the floor and broke in two. :slap

From your photos it looks like th leg, cape and head are all broken. But I couldn't follow your explanation of how all that happened. You mentioned you had it displayed and then Noticed it was broken. But from the looks of the multiple fractures it would have had to have fallen over to cause all that damage. So did it just spontaneously tip over and break??

Yeah it's kind of difficult to argue that after a year on display it just tipped over (or whatever specifically happened) and the statue was shattered in multiple places. And as someone else mentioned, I'm sure SS gets a million email regarding broken statues that they ask replacements for.

I'm not surprised. It was a year after purchase and he didn't buy it direct from SS. I don't blame the seller either. If something I sold broke a year after the sale, I'm not going to help out with it. Unfortunately, **** happens.

I've read on other posts that this Superman PF has a tendency to lean due to the heavy sculpted cape. So the only thing I can imagine happened to this poor guys statue is that it got unintentionally tipped over. That's the only thing that could've caused all the fractures in the head, leg and cape. But you can't blame the eBay seller after a year. Either way this sucks and I feel bad for this guy.

Yeah, I think when it comes to EBay purchases, SS probably takes a big giant step back whether they would even consider helping a person out. This particular freak here needs a whole new statue or most of it and SS says, oh wait, eBay purchase, who knows how many hands have gone through and through this statue and he just wants us to replace all the pieces just like that. No, can do, son. That's why it's better to buy direct from SS or 1 of their top distributors like BBTS or Alterego. And if you live in Canada or the UK, you gotta seriously contemplate whether it's even worth buying these with all those extra fees you gotta pay to get these things delivered to your door. And not to mention the hassle with your statue if it turns out to be a total lemon case. Personally, this hobby would not be for me if I had to deal with all those potential problems.

Yeah, I have to agree. I don't think I can do this if I was an international buyer.

You definitely have to pick and choose. I'd love to go nuts on the Prime 1 stuff or complete the JL 7 and the Bat Family but unless I win the lottery that's not gonna happen. :lol

Buying locally does help though if you're looking for EXs you have to buy straight from SS.

got one yesterday off ebay.

My first PF and was in awe all through out my unboxing! Used dynamicmenace wired cape. (Very Cool dude). It Adds some play to the statue. The sculpted cape looks great too just don't have the space for it.

Now thinking of a companion piece. Either Darkseid/luthor or go with trinity.
