Re: DC Collectibles doing Batman The Animated Series figures!!!!!

Saw these two at my local LCS

Seems the factory didn't forget to paint every Batman figure's teeth.

Looks nice with the painted teeth.

BUT, I still don't know...

I think I prefer it unpainted. It looks as if he had his mouth open, heavy-breathing with anger.

Why did he put a spoiler tag on this. We know what it looks like with the teeth showing or not

Re: DC Collectibles doing Batman The Animated Series figures!!!!!

I think if I get this I'll leave the teeth unpainted and just use the painted version that comes in the batmobile set

Were there any more like that? I've been holding off on the two pack to see if I can find the corrected version with painted teeth but my comic stores and eBay don't seem to be getting any. They're all unpainted.

Re: DC Collectibles doing Batman The Animated Series figures!!!!!

I've been reading this thread for over a year and thought I'd join.

So to confirm, we have 2 MAD LOVE sets showing up in FEB. March has the next wave of carded figures and the reissues of wave 1. The wave with Clayface is in July. Then there's nothing until Aug. when the Batmobile is reissued with extras?

Have any of you received your PHANTASM set from ENTERTAINMENT EARTH yet? They tell me they're still waiting on then to be in stock.

I love this BATMAN line BUT I feel like we're being drown in new products. It's been rather difficult to keep up. In the past when I've collected such lines they tried to space the releases out to every other month so collectors could stay on board. If they do add a SUPER MAN and JUSTICE LEAGUE line how I think it should be handled is to rotate SUPERMAN in as BATMAN is winding down. At the rate BATMAN is going we will most likely have both versions of all the characters by the end of this year or early next so that's when it would make sense to begin SUPERMAN to me. SUPERMAN has so few characters it's a line that might only last a year but that's when you rotate in JUSTICE LEAGUE and that line could go for years. There would be some overlap as one line winds down and another begins but be honest, how many of us could do 2 lines like this simultaneously? With 4-5 figures per wave at now close to $30 a pop and multiply that by 2, who here could do $300 a month on these lines? I hope DC DIRECT realizes this....

And BTW, I haven't seen anyone mention the Clock King among BATMAN villains they'd like to see. He seems just as likely as Talia, The Grey Ghost, or Calendar Girl.....I bet we even get Farmer Brown before this line is over....

LMAO!
It's just to avoid repeating the same photo over and over again when quoting the comment.
Rather than deleting it, I make it "disappear" with the spoiler tag. :lol

Not sure if they had any more. I didn't buy it, though. It's probably still on the shelf.

Re: DC Collectibles doing Batman The Animated Series figures!!!!!

Again,I painted mine's teeth and it looks just like it came from the factory like that.

Some of the waves were delayed due to bad QC (Well a lot of them broke and still are :( ). That is why we ended last year with so many figures at once. They were all supposed to be spaced out a little better but ended up all smashed together in the final months of 2015 so they had time to improve the plastic being used so they didn't break as often.
DCC could probably keep the BTAS and TNBA lines running for several more years at the pace they were supposed to be released. Basically it's like 4 waves a year or 1 wave per season plus a deluxe product thrown in every now and then.
Possible BTAS figures still to come:
Talia, Kyodai Ken (The Ninja), Clock King, Maxi Zeus, Hugo Strange, Bullock, Montoya, Alfred, The Terrible Trio, Red Claw, Two-Face, Scarecrow, Bane, Croc, Freeze, Ivy, Batgirl, Baby Doll to name a few.
Possible TNBA:
Joker, Penguin, Riddler, Catwoman, Hatter, Calendar Girl, Clayface, Alfred, Batwoman, Gordon, Scarface, Ra's and Talia ect
It might be a while lol.

As far as Superman...
Well, Superman, Lex, Lois, Mercy, Metallo, Bizarro, Mxyzptlk and Gsptlsnz , Supergirl, Aquaman, Flash, Brainiac, Livewire, Luminous, Parasite, Weather Wizard, Kyle Green Lantern, Toyman, Volcana, Darkseid, Kalibak, Desaad, and a bunch of others. Lots to do there too.

Re: DC Collectibles doing Batman The Animated Series figures!!!!!

Even with the delays I found it odd that they were all ready at once. The last line I collected like this was PALISADES MUPPET line. They would aim for 4 waves per year with a few exclusives in-between and 2 playsets per year. If they'd kept BATMAN at such a pace it would be far easier to keep on top of it.

All of your BATMAN suggestions are on my list but for the Terrible Trio. Are they really figure worthy? That would be like doing that fat slob from the chain gang episode or the sewer king with the gators (who'd be visually interesting but is rather obscure..) I wouldn't mind some of the human looking characters like Rupert Thorne or Leslie Thompkins but I don't have my hopes high for those. It would be nice to see a set of Bruce's parents and a Harvey Dent too. Maybe we'd even see Harley Quinn out of make up or a Selina Kyle. The line would need to run deep for such characters though.

You're right on SUPERMAN. I forgot there were that many characters and you didn't even mention Jimmy Olson, Ma & Pa Kent, Superman's Kryptonian parents, that General and his girlfriend, Dr. Hamilton, and others. Is SUPERMAN as popular a series as the rest? And could we get to see characters like Green Lantern and Aquaman who guest starred? Wouldn't they be their own license? But this proves the point it would be difficult for collectors to do both lines at once. This is why DIAMOND didn't do THE ADDAMS FAMILY when the MUNSTERS was ongoing as it was seen as a competing line. They intended to do ADDAMS after MUNSTERS though....

Re: DC Collectibles doing Batman The Animated Series figures!!!!!

I'm not sure if it's better or worse to try to do another Timm-verse line while they still have so far to go on the 2 they've started. A good number of people that are fans of BTAS and TNBA are probably fans of all the Timm-verse stuff. If they add on top of what they're already doing, 8-16 STAS figures to 8 BTAS and 8 TNBA figures it might be too expensive for a good portion of those collectors, causing them to opt out on certain figures. But it's going to be awhile before BTAS and TNBA is done. Are people going to want to wait that long? And I don't think it would be the most popular decision to cut back on the number of Batman figures we are currently getting to make room for Superman figures if they went that route. Can they do both lines at the same time and have enough buyer that don't pick and choose between them? I guess they could always decrease the amount of figures they are making later on if they see they aren't selling enough. We'll see.

I've pretty much dropped everything else to collect the animated line. Other than some NECA figures, I'm totally game. It's not the end of the world if I miss a few here and there.

The more the better I say. Bring on Superman, JLU, Batman Beyond... I'll take it all please, Even if I can't afford them, I want to SEE them. One of the major reasons I stopped collecting the Kenner figures, is because I've always dreamt about a 6 inch, more articulated style of animated figure, and I'm getting that. The quality is pretty lackluster for the price, but doesn't really matter if I can fix them all and have fun doing it haha.

I don't think they have "so far" to go on the TNBA and BTAS lines. Hell, after this year the selection will be freaking amazing for a 23 year old animated show. These haven't become rare, and I only see prices dropping on them. They will stay around for awhile for other collectors to catch up on.

I also don't want to see the BTAS and TNBA line thin out SO much that sales drop like a rock. They we will be less likely to see a Superman and JLU lines. Strike while the iron is hot I say!

Re: DC Collectibles doing Batman The Animated Series figures!!!!!

Got my BTAS Batmobile, Robin and Joker today. All are glorious, especially the Batmobile. Well, tonight absolute disaster struck. I went to put my BTAS Batman into the Batmobile and while trying to put him in the driver's seat, he snapped in two at the torso/hip section. Just pathetic. And I was not using much force. The legs moved fine but the torso/hips section apparently was weak. Terrible quality control. I don't think I've ever had an action figure snap in two like that. Crazy. Going to call Amazon up and see if I can't get a replacement. Just another reason that I won't be buying any more of these figures.

Exactly the same thing happened to me ( Amazon as well ). The hips crumbled completely. First and last figures for me. I still have them displayed in the bat mobile but I felt ripped off completely and cannot be bothered looking for help replacing batman. I just won't get anymore, plenty of other lines to spend my money on anyways.

Re: DC Collectibles doing Batman The Animated Series figures!!!!!

If you spill milk, do you never drink it again? :lol

They are $20 toys. Breaks/bad paint apps are common. If you get a new one that is fine, just get the others.

Lol. Well if you spill milk that is pretty much your own fault. If you get milk that hasn't been pasteurized or has hair or dirt or something in it that is bad QC on the producers part. You'll likely use milk again because it's almost a necessity and don't have many options. Nobody needs to buy a $20 action figure. For $20 the QC on these things should be better and like you said these issues are common. They shouldn't be this common. He was using the figure in a way you re supposed to be able to use it. Why have articulation if it's so fragile you are afraid to use it?

Re: DC Collectibles doing Batman The Animated Series figures!!!!!

I fortunately haven't had any breakage issues....YET but I've read about the issues online and I can't believe the problem continues. When you're paying $25 for a figure and breakage seems common then I can understand why people are upset. Now they're raising the price to $30 and if the issues persist I'm sure there will be even more who fall away.

If they add SUPERMAN they COULD alternate the releases to every other month so one month is BATMAN, one is SUPERMAN but how realistic is it that DC could keep that release date going without overlap or smooshing releases together like we've just seen this past fall. If not enough people buy the figures DC will conclude there's not enough consumer interest and drop the line prematurely. You need to consider that when contemplating the possibilities. Keep that in mind too. If they put too much out there at once so that collectors are unable to keep up the figures won't sell and that ends the hope for any new releases whereas if they launch SUPERMAN as BATMAN is winding down then SUPERMAN takes the place of BATMAN in the consumer's wallets. That's the real way to handle a situation like this if we want each line to go deep into the casts of each show. BATMAN could be near finished up by the end of this year so next year is when you should add SUPERMAN. Most lines get 2-3 years with a much smaller cast if they're lucky so by rotating in a new line you could have a Tim-verse line running for over a decade (given how vast the cast of JUSTICE LEAGUE is...)

The only lines I'll be adding this year are the MUPPETS and GHOSTBUSTERS but neither are making as many releases as the BATMAN line is.

Re: DC Collectibles doing Batman The Animated Series figures!!!!!

The worst issue I've had so far in terms of poor quality was a bent nose on Roxy's Rocket.
WIN_20151120_195153.jpg
Other people reported the same issue too.
Sent it back to BBTS for a replacement.

Re: DC Collectibles doing Batman The Animated Series figures!!!!!

Hey, do you think we'll get both versions of the Scarecrow for BTAS or only the jack o'lantern head?

Re: DC Collectibles doing Batman The Animated Series figures!!!!!

Not sure. DCC seem to be sticking with using the original model sheet designs for the figures, which for Scarecrow was his first appearance 'sack head' look. I prefer the second look myself, so hopefully they'd do that one as a second swappable head. There's always a chance they'd just re-use the same body and release two different figures with different heads though....
