Re: DC Collectibles doing Batman The Animated Series figures!!!!!

Does anyone else like the aesthetics of the metal pins? It makes them look like they'd be reference material you'd find in the animation studio, to me, at least.

I'm sure that these are the prototypes.

That's prototype place holders. The final products will have plastic pins I'm sure.

Re: DC Collectibles doing Batman The Animated Series figures!!!!!

I'd still like a 12 in B-TAS Batman.
Can't wait to get the Robin.

Re: DC Collectibles doing Batman The Animated Series figures!!!!!

Speaking of new pics - here's a few more I managed to find today! :D

I have to say Joker is looking much nicer in these photos than his promo photo.

Completely agree!

I would kill for a 1/6 BTAS Batman. Heck, maybe we should commission a custom someday.

Plastic or metal; I just like the aesthetics of them.

I think I get what you're saying.... That the pins give them the same kind of look as those wooden artist reference mannequins, so these almost look like they could be animator reference models.

I'm really intrigued as to what accessories are going to come with the figures we don't already know about (those being Catwoman, Two Face and Mr Freeze) From what we've seen and read the accessories are very episode specific so far.

I wonder what episodes they'll choose for Joker? I can see him coming with that fish-bowl helmet he wore in "The Last Laugh". Or maybe some Joker fish and his inflatable rubber ring from "The Laughing Fish". Poison Ivy is a difficult one... I don't really remember her using anything much in TNBA. Maybe one of her plant creatures from "A Girl's Night Out"? As for Batman and Robin, there are just so many episodes to choose from it's too hard to guess really.

I wonder if DCC will stick to single episode specific accessories for each figure or use multiple episodes for some?

Re: DC Collectibles doing Batman The Animated Series figures!!!!!

Joker and Bats look amazing, bring back fond memories of watching the show. I'd like to see Bane and Ra's

Re: DC Collectibles doing Batman The Animated Series figures!!!!!

So Batman has limited shoulder articulation because of the cape...

Re: DC Collectibles doing Batman The Animated Series figures!!!!!

Still not digging the portrait on the Joker, though the second photo of him looks marginally better.

My favorite of the line up is Robin, he's the best looking figure and the standout of the line up. The translation from model sheet to figure is pretty uncanny. I loved how they posed him just like the model sheet with the bent arm.

Batman also looks great, but man, those pics really show how useless his upper arms and shoulders will be. He'll be pretty much stuck in a statuesque pose. I hope BTAS Batman has the cape behind the shoulders like Robin.

Re: DC Collectibles doing Batman The Animated Series figures!!!!!

Seriously, these are getting far more attention that some of the HT figures.

Looking at these really brings back childhood memories, those carefree days watching BTAS in the late afternoon.
Sadly small figures aren't really my thing.

Re: DC Collectibles doing Batman The Animated Series figures!!!!!

Just buy one or two then to mess around with or to display at work or something. I'm not really a fan of smaller scales either (well not anymore anyway), but the occasional figure never hurts. You might have some fun, scale preference be damned.

DC Collectibles doing Batman The Animated Series figures!!!!!

There's also three batman figures in that pic (one inside some sort of steel book kind of packaging) to the far right.

Anybody knows what those are? Are they also new DC direct offerings?

Yeah, they're 75th anniversary packs. I'll find some pics for you.
