Re: DC Collectibles doing Batman The Animated Series figures!!!!!

Having recently rewatched a Ventriloquist & Scarface episode I can't help but wonder why DC Collectibles takes creative liberties on some figures when it comes to details. The Ventriloquist doesn't have any visible frames around his glasses, yet the figure does. This is the Penguin all over again. It seems like they are going for logic over original design. Yes, that might be nitpicking to some degree, yet I don't understand why they wouldn't go for accuracy. The spread sheets aren't necessarily the best reference to go by. In the end it matters to match what the characters looked like on the show, give or take slight style variations between shots.

Are you sure it's the frames you want to complain about?

If you guys are complaining about the Ventriloquist not being show accurate... wait until you see Batgirl for BTAS...

Re: DC Collectibles doing Batman The Animated Series figures!!!!!

Sweet, she doesn't come with any accessories on top of looking ridiculous. I don't think extra hands are necessary if there isn't anything extra to hold. I still think extra hands should only have accesories sculpted in. (as long as they're painted, TNBA Batgirl...)

Re: DC Collectibles doing Batman The Animated Series figures!!!!!

Heeeeeeeeeeh! She needs so much work! :( What's with that neck and hair sculpt... this does NOT look like BTAS Batgirl at all :(

EDIT: I think they are reusing Selina's body for her...

Re: DC Collectibles doing Batman The Animated Series figures!!!!!

Gordon's glasses are far worse (not even the correct shape let alone thickness compared with the prototype) and pretty much spoil an otherwise great figure.

That said, there are plenty of other likenesses that are just a bit off and far more egregious than Arnold's frames.

I am looking at you pointy head Clayface, Scarface (see above), Penguin, Holiday Joker, and frankly - BTAS Batman.

She's pretty close. Some of the vertical proportions are off but with a little tweaking, she'll be fine.

It's the hair on the shoulders that gets me. I'm sure they took it off to improve range of motion but it does make the neck look long.

Re: DC Collectibles doing Batman The Animated Series figures!!!!!

Yeah. Like MisterPL said, it's the lack of hair over her shoulders that's making her look kinda off on that area.

Again, they had to put articulation over accuracy to please the articulation maniacs. UGH
Pretty much like what they did with Talia's gun holster.

Just imagine the articulation maniacs blasting the lack of head motion? "Oh, my God! No head articulation??? DCC sucks, worst company" blah blah blah

Too bad articulation is always favored.

I'll have to sculpt the rest of the hair!
Thank you so much, maniacs!!!!!

Re: DC Collectibles doing Batman The Animated Series figures!!!!!

Well, apart from the lack of hair on her shoulders, she looks pretty great.

The colors are exactly like her first appearance on "Shadow of the Bat" – brighter than on her second, "Batgirl's Return".
Just like I wanted. She'll be mine.

Re: DC Collectibles doing Batman The Animated Series figures!!!!!

Oof, the line just keeps heading downhill. I'm hoping Bane is decent enough when he hits because at this point, my expectations are very low for whatever comes next. I wasn't a big fan of the Diamond statues, but they seem to be better at hitting the mark.

Re: DC Collectibles doing Batman The Animated Series figures!!!!!

The lack of accessories might have something to do with the success of the Batman Expressions pre-sales. If DCC can sell bat-gadgets separately, we may be looking at fewer pack-ins.

Re: DC Collectibles doing Batman The Animated Series figures!!!!!

Disappointed at the likeness. The hair over the shoulder should not be an issue. Talia has flexible hair that doesn't hinder movement - why not Batgirl? Especially when you place being able to look a bit more to the left or right over actually - you know - looking like the source material. If articulation is such an bug deal - include a second head!

Re: DC Collectibles doing Batman The Animated Series figures!!!!!

Where that pic of batgirl came from??

Re: DC Collectibles doing Batman The Animated Series figures!!!!!

Sorry I'm using very crude photo manipulation methods lol

Seriously, she looks ok other than the hair and she's not "curvy" enough.

Re: DC Collectibles doing Batman The Animated Series figures!!!!!

So they released batgirl news/pics before releasing pic of Mr Freeze and Poison Ivy that at least were announced at SDCC?

Re: DC Collectibles doing Batman The Animated Series figures!!!!!

I like it, the problem is only the hair, if they fix it, she will looks great.
Remember how fine looked the promo image of Harley Quinn BTAS and then the figure was bad… or the Riddler, the first image was bad painted and later was good. And with accesories the same, not always they show all in the promo images.

And this photo is over saturated…
