Re: DC Collectibles doing Batman The Animated Series figures!!!!!

Disappointed at the likeness. The hair over the shoulder should not be an issue. Talia has flexible hair that doesn't hinder movement - why not Batgirl? Especially when you place being able to look a bit more to the left or right over actually - you know - looking like the source material. If articulation is such an bug deal - include a second head!

Actually, Talia's hair is completely different than Batgirl's.
Talia's goes as low as the "top" of her shoulders, so it's still possible to sculpt it like that AND have head motion.
It's like Zatanna's, too.
That's why they are both accurate and have articulation.

Batgirl's is a totally different situation.
It goes as low as her clavicles, covering her shoulders in full.
Her head would NEVER have motion, had they sculpted just like in the show.

They had to choose between accuracy and articulation, sadly.

I would have gone with accurary. To hell articulation.

Re: DC Collectibles doing Batman The Animated Series figures!!!!!

Neck is too long and not curvy enough at the hips.

Agree with the neck and, obviously, the hair.
I'm fine with her hips, tho.

At the end of the day, I'm glad with Batgirl. Her face is perfect, so headscultp is not the problem (like that terrible Bruce head).

Sculpting the rest of her hair will be very easy to me, as will lowering her neck (if I feel like it when I have her in hands).

I'm sorry for the ones who aren't able to sculpt. If we all lived in the same city, I'd fix her hair for everyone for free.

Re: DC Collectibles doing Batman The Animated Series figures!!!!!

Woobie would probably be too skinny too :/

Re: DC Collectibles doing Batman The Animated Series figures!!!!!

If they include 'Woobie' as an accessory, that sculpt would be much easier to forgive. :lol

Re: DC Collectibles doing Batman The Animated Series figures!!!!!

Batgirl has a rounder face. This DCC sculpt is waaaay too narrow.

I'd wait for ToyFair next month to judge that better.

These DCC promo images are aaaaalways horrible in proportion AND colors. Especially colors - it's always TOO bright.
I hate them.

Re: DC Collectibles doing Batman The Animated Series figures!!!!!

Can someone photoshop Batgirl, just lowering her neck and adding more hair? Just so we can imagine how she would look?

Then, we send it to DCC. They've heard us before (they fixed Riddler's collar and darkened Talia's collors), so anything is possible.

she was my most wanted after Ivy, so I really hope that's not that comes out as well :(

I have to disagree with you on that :) Have you seen my custom Batgirl? Her hair are sculpted on the solders and she still can move her head :)

There are 2 options here:
1. For Poison Ivy I just used softer type of material that can easy bend, this way she can still move her head. If they have used softer rubber that would work...
2. My Batgirl has the hair sculpted on top of her shoulders but they are not glued to the head. This way she can still move her head but the hair looks fine :)

Yes! That's exactly my thought! Also I think the colors are off :/

Re: DC Collectibles doing Batman The Animated Series figures!!!!!

Oh man - Batgirl is a main character, this is not a throw away figure like Holiday Joker - this is an important figure. How can DCC think that is a decent looking version of her???

I came across the picture in my Instagram feed and didn't even think it was a BTAS Batgirl. It is just off in so many ways. Pity DCC do not actually change sculpts after proto stage apart for production/technical reasons. What we are seeing will be most likely what we are getting...

Man.. THAT IS BATGIRL! O_O big fan of your work... look so accurate! :)
The DCC looks a terrible re-use of Catwoman actually.. She seems to have the same long neck of her (which works perfectly for Selina but horrible on Barbara...)

This have nothing to do with articulations, is just about LAZYNESS in my hopinion. Solutions are pretty easy, just need a bit of EFFORT. Is not acceptable to not put effort in choices like DCC do.. damn.. is a MAIN character!!! Only good thing of that preview figure is the headsculpt, I never liked TAS Batgirl look, but seems accurate to me, and the fact DCC always did awesome female sculpts/paint make me confident about it. But the proportion of the rest are totally WRONG.

At this point I don't know if I wanna see Ivy.. I'm scared... T.T

Re: DC Collectibles doing Batman The Animated Series figures!!!!!

Batgirl of TNBA should had the same problem but they did a good job with her. So why they pissed on TAS Batgirl?

If you guys are complaining about the Ventriloquist not being show accurate... wait until you see Batgirl for BTAS...

Woooooow. This is probably the most disappointing reveal yet! Was soooooooo looking forward to Babs. After seeing Zatanna I thought for sure she would look amazing. The face, neck, hair and eyes are soo awful. I bet when the final comes out there's no skin showing under the eyes, same as TNBA Batgirl. This makes me worried for Ivy now. Another one of my fav characters not done justice by DCC, and yet another female fig that's been disproportionate, which they likely won't correct. First TNBA Ivy's long *** legs, everything about BTAS Harley, Mad Love Harley's arms, Talia's arms, Livewire's arms, Supergirl's entire head and feet. This fig looks as bad as Supergirl when it comes to proportions. So far Zatanna and Roxy have been the only females to come out near perfect, imo. The rest are hit or miss.
But hey, at least they remembered to color her eyes blue this time.. lol :blissysmi :archer

Re: DC Collectibles doing Batman The Animated Series figures!!!!!

Prepare yourselves, those arms make her seem like she'll be a repeat of Talia and her Stretch Armstrong schtick.

Re: DC Collectibles doing Batman The Animated Series figures!!!!!

to me really looks a Catwoman body re-use... I really hope they have (AT LEAST) rescaled down the figure or this Batgirl will be easy remembered for be the most inaccurate piece in the line xDDD I did some PS of I would fix it if I was a DCC guy who cared :lol
