Re: DC Collectibles doing Batman The Animated Series figures!!!!!

Those are actually part of the initial 4. :) They should be shown this weekend...

I constantly kick myself for not getting in on the ground floor of the Arkham lines. But these? No way am I missing out on a single release.

:panic: :panic:
Not sure how I missed the bit of info.
Thanks Sallah!

Re: DC Collectibles doing Batman The Animated Series figures!!!!!

I thought I was out of the 6/7" game (NECA have pretty much filled all my wants now) but this is like a dream

The kenner stuff still holds up today, loved it as a kid as it was one of the few properties to actually get screen accurate figures but these are gonna look so good in my collection

Re: DC Collectibles doing Batman The Animated Series figures!!!!!

You miss my point. The new DC Direct one is a prototype. The old Kenner one obviously was mass produced. The question is, will the latter match the former once it gets in collectors' hands?
I bought a lot of DC Direct/DC Collectibles figures before I started getting into Hot Toys as my main collecting and I can honestly say that the prototypes generally are basically the same as the prototype they show beforehand. Plus with these figures having relatively simplistic designs there shouldn't be that much to screw up. I always thought DC Direct/DC Collectibles was a pretty good manufacturer of figures in terms of sculpts and detail, about the only gripe that most people had/have with them (it didn't bother me too bad) was that they aren't the most articulated. I didn't even think their articulation was that terrible though they just went with basic articulation rather than anything too fancy.

They should, DCC/DCD have a pretty much impeccable reputation when it comes to the final product and I can back that up from personal experience, I haven't had a single DCD/DCC figure and said "I wish they would have don't this or that better".

Re: DC Collectibles doing Batman The Animated Series figures!!!!!

I don't know if this was posted yet or not. It goes quick, but shows 360 degree reveals of Batman and Catwoman.
Batman definitely looks like the prototype, as the joints don't look fully jammed into their sockets (like the neck area).

Re: DC Collectibles doing Batman The Animated Series figures!!!!!

I hope they do Ivy from BTAS.

Re: DC Collectibles doing Batman The Animated Series figures!!!!!

Are these figures really going to be $24.95 each???

Re: DC Collectibles doing Batman The Animated Series figures!!!!!

It's a good price IMO, for DCC anyways, for Marvel legends and other lines I consider it expensive.

Re: DC Collectibles doing Batman The Animated Series figures!!!!!

I think $20-25 for a 6/ 7 inch figure is too much, but that's they way it is, and there's nothing we can do about it. I'll probably get most of the characters.

Re: DC Collectibles doing Batman The Animated Series figures!!!!!

Size doesn't matter, quality and detail do, Threea 6" figures go for at least $45 each + shipping and they're worth every penny, they have more detail than some 1/6 figs out there, and DCC/DCD have recently made figures that fully justify the pricetag of $20

$20 is ok, just consider that for $10 you can barely buy a Re-Action figure and there's nearly no comparison to the DCC/DCD figures, and for $30-$40 you can get import figures like the Mafex Batman and IMO DCC/DCD are still better in comparison.

You're lucky man, most figures here go for a price tag of at least 50% higher after taxes, shipping and custom fees, I usually have to pay the equivalent of $30-$40 for a $20 figure, I don't want to even talk about the high end figures prices :lol

Re: DC Collectibles doing Batman The Animated Series figures!!!!!

Moaning about price seems to be a given for toy collecting now, I see it all over the place. It gets pretty dull, it's "I want" entitlement and grumbling far more frequently than the times it's justified.

In fairness, there's nobody being needlessly extreme about it in this thread, which is good - but while I'm off on the general subject I'll add that it's become such a boring trend, you can get the impression that unless a company was paying them to take the toy, some "collectors" will forever feel hard done by..

On topic - there's some BNA designs I like just as much as, if not more than, the TAS designs, so generally really pleased this is happening and covering the Animated series' as a whole. I'd like to see a whole lot more of Animated making it's way back into the statue lines such as Black & White, but this'll do for starters.

Someone needs to get some pics of that DC Collectibles booth, stat! :lecture

I'm just curious to see how Two Face and Mr. Freeze look. If I recall correctly Two Face's look in The New Adventures of Batman was pretty much the same only a bit refined. Freeze was one of the characters that had a pretty big makeover though.

Give it a rest...$25 for a 6" plastic figure is ridiculous. Justify it anyway you want and attack the people who question it but be sure to let us all know when they do price it too high for the likes of Apex collectors like yourself. God, I feel like I need a shower after reading your post. :lol

Re: DC Collectibles doing Batman The Animated Series figures!!!!!

Nowadays, most 6-7 inch "collector" figures cost $20-$25 dollars. That's just the way it is unfortunately...

No, they cost $20 which is still too high. And now they want $25.00. You're going to justify a hike of $5.00 just like that? Four figures for $100?? Crash and burn...

Re: DC Collectibles doing Batman The Animated Series figures!!!!!

I see no reasoning behind thinking a super detailed and beautiful scuplted 6" figure is expensive for $20-25.

Some of them aren't worth $20 that's for damn sure, but for instance, the last Arkham Origins Batman? Boy, that's worth every cent.

What's going to be so "super detailed" about the Batman Animated Series figures? Heck, Timm even mentioned he simplified the art for the "New" animated series back in the day so when that translates to actual figures where's those super details going to be?

Re: DC Collectibles doing Batman The Animated Series figures!!!!!

Often the simpler designs are just as tricky as the more baroque ones, why? Because the lines are so clean and so defined that the slightest mess up is going to be more noticeable than on a figure packed with wrinkles and dry brushes.
