Man of steel had ads for batman year one glc corps annual 2 and relaunched Perez wonder woman
Wow that was a reboot and a fantastic time for me as a collector

Shame this new reboot just makes me glad I stopped readingost comics ......

Yeah, that was around the time I first picked up a DC book. It was a great time.

According to what I've read nothing in the GL universe gets rebooted which means Sinestro gets another shot somehow at being a Green Lantern and that puts him at odds with his Sinestro Corps.

Or, they could be starting out some titles with back-story. Saying something won't be re-booted doesn't mean they won't try to fill in more details re: folks' past, or engage in some old-fashioned ret-conning a bit here or there.

I have a feeling I'm not going to like his take:

COMICS: Grant Morrison Spills Some Details On His New Interpretation Of Superman!
The writer of the soon to be relaunched Action Comics reveals a few new details about his take on a younger Man of Steel, saying he'll be "more socially active and a champion of the oppressed" and dressed in a shirt and jeans...
Talking to British newspaper, Metro, writer Grant Morrison has talked a little more about his plans for a fresh take on Superman in September's Action Comics #1. While we'd already heard rumblings that the title would focus on the early years of the Man of Stell, Morrison confirms below that he'll be offering a very unique take on the character which takes him back to his roots AND out of the iconic costume.

What have you got lined up in your writing for Superman?

I want to solve some of the problems that have grown up around the character. People now ask: ‘Why the hell would he dress up like that?’ I want to make Superman a more contemporary character. We’ll be changing how he looks, dresses and behaves. He’ll be more like the Superman who appeared in 1938 – more socially active and a champion of the oppressed.

He’s taken his underpants off in the current comics...

With what we’re doing he’s wearing jeans and a T-shirt – a Bruce Springsteen version of Superman, that’s the angle we’re taking. The cape’s still indestructible but the rest is picked up in a shop.

What are you proudest of getting into a comic book?

I’m proud of having Bruce Wayne stumbling through the streets of Gotham high on heroin. When the baddies get hold of Batman and really mess him up, that’s always fun. When I grew up, the comics I loved were by hippies in the late 1960s, which had a big effect on me when I was 12. I’ve always written for an imaginary smart 15-year-old. I’m introducing younger kids to big ideas and to authors and notions. Spanish writer Jorge Luis Borges was in the last Batman story I wrote so I’ve hopefully introduced his work to some new people.

"I’m proud of having Bruce Wayne stumbling through the streets of Gotham high on heroin."

WTF?? Grant Morrison is a talented, creative guy. But I'm not sure he has any business writing Batman and Superman stories if this is his idea of a good idea for them.

I loved the Batman run from Grant, and that quote seems to be his way of trying to sensationalize things. I think he gets a thrill from subversive ideas, but the writing on the Batman run through the current Batman Inc. stuff has been a great read.

All Star Superman is one of my favorite collections of all time, and I am curious to see what he is going to do with Superman in continuity, even in the revised DCnU. I don't know how this will work with the JLA version of Superman, but I am curious to see more.

I was hoping, with Jim Lee heading the costume redesign, we'd lose the crab mask in favor of something more like Rayner's Ion costume:

Regarding the GL covers, where is Hal? I haven't finished "War of the Green Lanterns" yet, could it be... :panic: No, probably not. :lol Though, I would be more interested in the GL flagship title if Sinestro were the title character instead of Hal.

So what happened to that bloody glove cover then? Is that a variant? Looked cool.
