This week’s issue of Entertainment Weekly has a article on the new DC Universe and a page out of the new Justice League comic featuring Green Lantern/Hal Jordan and Batman/Bruce Wayne. It is suppose to be there first meeting five years earlier, which may explain why Hal is on the cover and not a certain someone else (spoiler if you haven't read this weeks GL issue). The thing is both are in there new costumes which makes me wonder if they are suggesting they have always worn them, that is they maybe reworking there history/origins...hmm. This should be interesting.

Hal's shoulders are plated!?!? That is something that isn't as easy figured out from other images but here it looks like something Tony Stark would wear. Why?

First meeting? Five years earlier?
Is justice league still set in the past?

Certain titles will be set in the past: Justice League & Action for instance. No word on if the entire run will be set in the past or just the first arc. Either way, very confusing.

Im actually excited, Hated the idea at first, but if the storys are good and im still loving DC i think its cool. I will always love and honor the classic incarnations. But the new costumes look pretty badass

This is going to be an unmitigated disaster and is destined to be retconned itself within a year. I feel sorry for anyone who gets suckered into wasting a penny or moment of their time on it.

Exactly. What he said.

So...now that Sideshow has the DC license, what are the odds that DC is going to make Sideshow do a few figures of characters in their new costumes instead of the old? I think there is a good chance that at least one will be and there is going to be a massive backlash about it...

I think that is almost a guarantee, seeing as how DC is really pushing this hard.

Well on the plus side it will save me money as I ain't gonna buy them....

Regarding the "armor" and knee pads on Superman, a possible explanation is that it is some sort of Kryptonian suit. They didn't have super powers on Krypton, so armor wouldn't be out of the question. He could wear it as a symbol/tribute to his home world rather than for protection.

I am unsure how this will work with Sideshow. With Marvel as I understand they present the ideas to Marvel of what characters they want to do, the costuming, the pose, etc and once they get the approval it moves to getting sculptors, painters, etc. I would think that with DC it'll work the same way so I doubt it'll be that DC is pushing them but more than Sideshow would be trying to get in on the hype around the relaunch but I have a feelin it'll be a mix of old and new designs for them.

On second thought though, going by the above logic, Batman, Flash, and Green Lantern are also wearing kryptonian clothing. :slap

Not to mention it'd mean that either they'd have to include in the baby's rocket or he'd have to have had Ma Kent sew that up with the supersuit. That woman is fantastic! :lol

I would not put it past Marha Kent to sew up an authentic Kryptonian suit for Clark and all his super friends.
