This week’s issue of Entertainment Weekly has a article on the new DC Universe and a page out of the new Justice League comic featuring Green Lantern/Hal Jordan and Batman/Bruce Wayne. It is suppose to be there first meeting five years earlier, which may explain why Hal is on the cover and not a certain someone else (spoiler if you haven't read this weeks GL issue). The thing is both are in there new costumes which makes me wonder if they are suggesting they have always worn them, that is they maybe reworking there history/origins...hmm. This should be interesting.
Hal's shoulders are plated!?!? That is something that isn't as easy figured out from other images but here it looks like something Tony Stark would wear. Why?

First meeting? Five years earlier?
Is justice league still set in the past?
why the hell does superman need knee pads for? hes SUPERMAN
This is going to be an unmitigated disaster and is destined to be retconned itself within a year. I feel sorry for anyone who gets suckered into wasting a penny or moment of their time on it.
So...now that Sideshow has the DC license, what are the odds that DC is going to make Sideshow do a few figures of characters in their new costumes instead of the old? I think there is a good chance that at least one will be and there is going to be a massive backlash about it...

Regarding the "armor" and knee pads on Superman, a possible explanation is that it is some sort of Kryptonian suit. They didn't have super powers on Krypton, so armor wouldn't be out of the question. He could wear it as a symbol/tribute to his home world rather than for protection.
