Awesome! Thanks!

3 more quick questions...

1. How often do new comics get released? Like 1 month between issues?

2. What's the difference between batman and detective?

3. Any sites that do a good job at getting good reviews up quickly? There are just so many heroes I apparently know zilch about!

1- Once a month unless things get delayed

2-Different writers and artists and different stories that's about all.

3-I don't really know of any off hand, and any advanced reviews tend to not be very helpful. Thing is like any review someone may find a book to be great when you in the end don't like it. JLA 1 got good reviews but most people are of the opinion that it wasn't that good. Find something you like and then do some research on the character. Best way to learn about them imo.

I loved Action #1, can't wait for #2! Detective was disappointing to me, it seemed like there was nothing "new" until the very end. Still need to find time to read Batgirl.

Ok i thought Batgirl was like BAM surprisingly good, Detective was awesome to me as well, Action Comics was a bore, JLA was unfulfilling left very open ended however the story looks interesting, Men of War was COOL, and Green Arrow was well.... meh nothing great but nothing bad to say

My two pennies:

Batgirl was interesting to find out how they dealt with Babs but outside of those two pages it was fairly meh. It was like watching an ABC Family stylized tween drama, very surface while trying to maintain a feel of depth with the whole Mirror thing. The ending was almost completely predictable.

Action Comics was a letdown especially considering how Morrison has handled the character in All-Star it felt almost like the moves that Mark Millar was threatening.

Detective Comics I loved, it almost felt Noir in it's storytelling.

JLAI was a little disappointing, I was already uninterested within the first couple of pages.

Hawk and Dove looks like it might be interesting based on the secrets of Dove and her relationship to the original but I couldn't get past the art. Liefeld's art really felt 90s, down to the TV screen panels that were a staple of Image comics. I might not be able to surpass the look to really get into it.

I still have Batwing, Animal Man, Stormwatch, Green Arrow to read but I'm not really worried about the onslaught this week.

.

100% how I felt about it. I liked the Dawn and Don may have been together. But all I kept doing was staring at the bad art.

It seems funny though, you could almost swap your Batgirl/H&D reviews.

Outside of the splash page where Dove mentions being with Don, I didnt see anything else worthwhile in the book

Finally got to read Batgirl, and I agree with what Mike said about it being predictable. Aside from that, I do like the artwork a lot, and I enjoy reading Barbera's inner dialogue, so it I'm gonna stick with it and see where it goes.

That roommate has to go though. :monkey4

Just saw the new 52 DC Comics ad on the Syfy channel. I guess they are really pushing this thing...hope they don't go bankrupt.

Justice League #1 is the biggest/fastest selling book of 2011... Not to mention how well the other new #1 are doing!... I don't see them doing their ball in just yet! If they can back it up and maintain it over the next couple months they'll be the envy of the industry...

What books are people copping tomorrow? I think I might try Suicide Squad.

These:
BATMAN AND ROBIN #1
BATWOMAN #1
DEATHSTROKE #1
GREEN LANTERN #1
GRIFTER #1
RED LANTERNS #1
SUICIDE SQUAD #1
SUPERBOY #1

Although about half are on pure curiousness alone.

I want to say all of them... So much cash! Although, I have been buying a lot of them digitally off ComiXology for my iPad... Which is an awesome way to read them as I commute.

I think alot of that is curiosity. Even I'm curious enough to be tempted to go get some and I've never read an individual issue, only TPBs. It sounds like some of the reactions on here don't make it sound likely that they'll maintain this. Just my opinion for what its worth, which is probably about half a cent.

yeah some of the opinions are bad but for 3 bad opinion that you read on here, theres like 3 others that come from other source like youtube and other forums that say its good, its really mixed at the moment and that good because that just proves that DC was right to do 52 new titles/ stories , to fit everyone's liking.

bottom line you cant like everything coming out with this reboot, but its doing what it should, and thats to get you interested in the new directions for the characters, the last comic i got was the last issue of hush after that i dropped comics for two reason, one i got bored with the stories a bit and second they were getting real hard to find in stores, and that brings up the digital download on same day that i love.

and to answer a previous question on what we are getting tomorrow, for me its suicide squad, only due to the fact that harley is in it, aside that i am holding out for multiple reviews on the rest , i would get the batman and robin issue, but for now my main bat story is detective comic, since it got me very interested to read more even before i got to the twist ending.

You make good points, but I think the real issue we're going to keep coming back to is whether they are really changing what made people bored with comics in the first place. I remember there was an old episode of The Simpson's where Malibu Stacey (AKA Barbie) sales were down, so they added a hat and everyone went nuts buying her. It will be interesting to see how it all turns out. What long time readers are turned off, what new readers stick with it, and whether they go back to making the same mistakes, but in a brand new timeline.

You cant satisfy everyone and in the end, it will all depend on the stories and art , all the flash of the new direction will eventually go away like it did with the first crisis storyline from years back, and keeping the crisis story in mind, this is almost like that and readers kept reading .
ok this is a much more in your face series of changes to the characters but its the same idea of going in a different direction for the characters and premise .

yes this is the malibu doll with a new hat but some of these dolls/ comics have more then flashy new items added in , and that added greatness to these comics will keep this reboot going for a long while.

not to mention that this is a great way to keep the characters from becoming washed up heroes a la kingdom come, and this keeps them fresh.

i have no doubt that this is permanent and that sale will go higher now that they made it clear that they are full on digital on same day, and that same day thing is what will keep a lot of people to come back to these comics, since a great portion of people 1 -cant find any recent issues in stores near them 2-preffer to buy digitaly due to lower cost and that they are mostly always on their comp, iphones, laptops, and so on, its a digital world and dc is making sure that they are part of it and its a brilliant move.

so yes some will leave dc due to millions of different reasons, but the true fans will eventually find an issue that they want to keep reading and most all ready have and yes some series will be cancelled after a while, like for exp static shock... but its to be expected to happen and again thats why dc put out 52 different stories with different feels to them to attract different type of people, and who knows, static might bring in the younger kids in since it was previously a kid show so on and so forth.

right now its just too early to call whats going to happen since this is month 1 but something tells me that over 70%+ of the reboot will end up being a great success , we just need to keep on reading to see where it all goes.

Ummm... arent the digital books the same price?
And, didnt we just see the "mystery girl" in all the books looking to make things right? You might not want to count them eggs before they hatch there. This could still end up being one of Johns "events" and we'll have ourselves a good ole fashion AoA where we get parts of the "DCnU" mixed with the DCU proper. If this simply turns out to be the same stuff repackaged, hopefully for the money we'll get some good stories and concepts out of it. I, for one, cant stand the endless events, but I have decided to see where some of this rabbit hole goes and picked up some #1s, which I'm being told at the LCS that most peeps are doing, just getting #1s, reading them, and deciding to move forward or not next month.
