Re: DC Collectibles - Batman: Arkham figure series (Origins,Asylum,City)

Btw I don't like how they exposed Bane's mouth in the Origins design. It makes it a little silly, whereas just exposing his eyes would've been more intimidating imo...

Re: DC Collectibles - Batman: Arkham figure series (Origins,Asylum,City)

I never liked how little Two-Face had to do in City anyway. I hope he returns in Origins (I'm not sure). And yes the developers have explicitly said they took a few notes from Nolan for this Bane (the chest guard is the most immediate thing I can spot). My thing is more that I loved what Hardy did with the voice, and also that beast of a Mask itself. It's so iconic to me, yet didn't reach full potential in TDKR because of Nolan's strict approach for those films. But it also means he's not Cuban anymore, which I guess kills diversity. However, can't help but be of the opinion I like Hardy's cold british demeanour much more. If only they'd work that mask into Bane's design, that mask is so monstrous.

And yeah Harley's outfit has blue and red cross-mixed on her limbs, but the figure had the blue arm and leg on one side and red arm/leg on the other. Just keep her arms underneath the blowdryer until it becomes really bendable and you can just pop 'm off and switch 'm.:)
I didn't either, I would have loved to see him play a larger role. He does in the Catwoman DLC but I'd rather be Batman. He ends up taking control of all of Penguin's area so if you're playing the rest of the game afterwards it's obvious Two Face's gang is controlling most of Arkham City, But I know what you mean, they could have worked him in there a little more. I don't think Two Face would exist yet in Origins, but if Joker does, he could too. Hopefully he'll be in the 4th Rocksteady game and we'll get a figure then.

Personally I don't care too much for Nolan Bane, but again I don't read the comics so I don't have a set idea of what Bane should be like. I think Bane would be a lot cooler without the mouth exposed, but I don't mind it really. If I have one problem about Asylum/City Bane it's that's you don't see much if any character. Hoping Origins will fix that.

Brilliant! I had already realized a while back that Origins will probably be plural also because it hints at more Origins than just Batman's. I think they even confirmed we'd see villain origins as well. And considering the story and Black Mask, good chance the mob in general will be involved in the story. And well, let's just say we know how Two-Face gets scared in the comics...

I say/hope/expect a Two-Face origin in B:AO!:dance

Re: DC Collectibles - Batman: Arkham figure series (Origins,Asylum,City)

So I ended up at SDCC with a bracelet from a nice girl who didn't want it to buy the Hugo Strange figure. I thought of you guys and would like to pass the karma on, so if any of you are looking for Hugo and are ok covering what I paid + shipping PM me and I'll get him to you.
PM Sent! :)

Hey Penguin, I took your advice and tried to loosen my Killer Croc's arms joints by soaking it in water, though it wasn't boiling how just very hot. The right elbow moves fine now, the left one is still kinda stiff so I'm going to leave it alone for now. Thanks for the advice.

No problem. Boiling does help, especially with the shoulders. My elbows are still tight but as long as you don't just try to bend it without holding onto the arm you'll be fine. :)

He's one of my favourite Arkham figures, just wish he was less fragile.

40? I thought it was 30?

If so the guy who got mine for me at the con lost money... Feel kinda bad now.

Hugo did come however. Overall, I think he's a really good figure. Not spectacular, but he's above average. As for articulation, double ball jointed neck, ball hinged shoulders, very limited ball hinged elbows that do swivel sideways, waist swivel, swivel hips, hinged knees, and probably double ball jointed ankles, they just don't have too much of an area to move around. The syringe is nice, the scalpel isn't really. Flat little piece of plastic. Plus since they tape it in it's gets tape residue on it.

Hugo's lips are really dark though, like the Series 4 Batman. Also his glasses are black, not silver, but it doesn't bother me. His elbows don't bend much unfortunately so you can't have his hands together in front of him. :(

The Arkham logo is nice, as is the ID badge. The little Hugo picture is decent and if you can see the tiny little letters it obviously says "Warden Hugo Strange" with another smaller Arkham logo.

He definitely stands out among the other Arkham figures. I'll be taking some pictures once the batteries charge.

Heh heh, was about to say DC Collectibles really overcharged...

Anyway, I'm not going to post any pictures, my brother did a Youtube review of his Hugo, so figured I'd drop a link here for all those interested. :)

I'm currently waiting for my Hugo Strange figure to arrive from the USA. Can't wait to get him!!

Having said that though, it's really annoying that DCC decided to make him the SDCC exclusive. Surely they know how much of an important character he is. So not only do we have to pay above normal prices for him initially, but those of us overseas have to pay high shipping costs aswell to get him.....

yeah i'm not a fan either... i could understand a variant but a completely different exclusive figure? totally lame imo. :hi5: on getting 'em though! i can't wait either

Re: DC Collectibles - Batman: Arkham figure series (Origins,Asylum,City)

Can't wait to see your awesome pictures SFA, glad you were able to get one. :) Hopefully you post a bunch.

I know, it really does suck, releasing the main villain in the game as a con exclusive? Both main villains for City were con exclusives...

I did notice something about the Hugo figure that makes me think he was sculpted awhile ago but was canceled then used for a con exclusive.

He doesn't have any peg holes in his feet, like Hush and Catwoman. Ever since Series 2 not having pegholes DCC has put pegholes in every figure. That kinda leads me to believe he was sculpted around the same time as the Series 2 figures. Also, the back paper on the box had a sticker covering up the original name of the person who sculpted it, Derek Miller, and the sticker had Sam Greenwell instead with a Graffiti Design logo on it. I went back and looked Derek Miller did work with Series 2 and 4, Sam Greenwell was never listed as a sculptor on any boxes. Not sure what as going on there but I really have a feeling this figure wasn't made for SDCC, that's why DCC had an all new mould for a con ex. It was already sculpted awhile ago.

Also, the box didn't have Limited 4000 or SDCC Logo and the box just says "Convention Exclusive Figure" which leads me to believe DCC will also have this guy for other conventions like NYCC, etc.

Re: DC Collectibles - Batman: Arkham figure series (Origins,Asylum,City)

He's limited to 5,000 actually. Typically Graffiti will keep taking a figure to cons until they sell out of it. Basically he just premiered at SDCC. If he sold out, then great, but if not, they'll continue to tour with him until they sell out. I know they had the SDCC Reverse Flash from Flashpoint for over a year :lol

Re: DC Collectibles - Batman: Arkham figure series (Origins,Asylum,City)

Since Hugo and Joker were both Con exclusives, what are the chances another major character from AC will be announced as another con exclusive. My money is on Two-Face, with Clayface being the second deluxe figure along with Grundy...thoughts? Concerns?

If you mean San Diego Comic Con exclusive I'm pretty sure it's gonna be an AO character... By next year we'd be pretty friggin lucky if we still get figures from either AA or AC...

I'm saying any major Comic Con, SD, NY or otherwise. Still DCC are wise enough to know how much we want certain figures, such as making Hugo Strange as a con exclusive, even though it is slightly dickish of them:lol. They enough we still want to finish the AC line, thusly I think we're not done with AC line just yet.

Re: DC Collectibles - Batman: Arkham figure series (Origins,Asylum,City)

my titan jokers leg fell off out of the package, what should I do? return to the store is not an option.

mine did too... you could try glue or just prop him up in the corner of your display. he'll actually stand up just fine if you use a corner for support, and the weight of the figure will keep the leg in place even if its not connected.
