Re: DC Collectibles - Batman: Arkham figure series (Origins,Asylum,City)

Unlike most of you, for some bizare reason I can't fathom, I am actually excited by the inclusion of this version of Copperhead. It gives both the game and our collections some much needed female variaty, as well as one possibly kick *** boss fight. I can't wait to fight her and then buy her action figure.

Also, I think Deadshot is possibly the weakest of the AO figures thus far, even more than Black Mask.

I completely agree with your sentiments about Copperhead! (see A:O game thread)

As for the Abramovici twins, they are actually on display at SDCC right behind the Batman/Bane 2pack figures, so I wouldn't worry about them being released. They're probably not on that info card simply because they have their own info card maybe.
Yeah, I read your post. I wholeheartedly agree. I have a feeling it may have to do with the new developer, I don't see Rocksteady adding a character like her into the games. Just not fond of any aspects of her, especially that we'll be infected for the 3rd time in the Arkham games.

Thanks for that, I was actually really eager to see those two packs in a booth. Glad they gave Harley and Penguin all the accessories, and it even looks like there are some paint differences.

Deadshot has grown on me a little, but still don't like the orange and I was really hoping this Deadshot game with a rifle instead of just his wrist cannons for weapons but both of his hands are closed fists unfortunately so no rifle.

Black Mask is looking a little better but the flesh around his eyes is standing out way too much.

Batman, I'm not liking as much because it doesn't look that accurate. The Mattel version looks better in my opinion.

Bane and Joker, still loving those two. And Deathstroke, can't wait for him!

Asylum Bats is a bit worrying as they just used the torso from the City Batman with the City bat logo. Hopefully they fix the error and use the AA S1 torso or paint an Asylum Logo instead.

Asylum Bane... Wow, what a real treat. Looks great, love that the tubes are even partially clear red. I still want the Series 2 Bane, hopefully someone here will sell their's off when the new one comes out.

Harley and Penguin look about the same, but not sure if it's the lighting but Harley looks a lot brightly coloured and Penguin's vest is a lot more of a brighter red. Not sure if they tweaked the paint just a little to make them different or what. I hope their identical so I can just give the dupe Harley to my girlfriend to go with the Joker I bought her and customize the Penguin so he doesn't have the blood all around his bottle monocle and the medical device on his neck since they weren't in the game.

Anyway, sorry about my insane mutterings. :cuckoo:

I really really can't wait for Mr hammer! I've pre ordered him and both the asylum and the origins Joker figures!

Re: DC Collectibles - Batman: Arkham figure series (Origins,Asylum,City)

I can't wait to have Mr. Hammer leading my clown thugs. Sickle I really like too since he's probably the only Penguin goon we'll get, but I'm not the biggest fan of his face. Wish he had this expression he always has in the game.

The tattoo work looks really good on these figures. I hope it doesn't degrade, Harley's were a bit meh to me since they weren't applied to well.

They based it off the character trophy though. It's alright, but I would have preferred a different expression. Mr. Hammer's sneer I like a lot more however.

Just heard back from someone who said they were going to try and get me Hugo and they managed to get one!:yess:

Looking at some eBay auctions, he looks pretty good.

His glasses were changed from silver to black unfortunately, but the rest looks good. Not sure how I feel about the lips though. Looks like the same mistake Series 4 Batman has...

Am I the only one who thinks that the Origins figures should come with those stands that we've seen at all of the cons? They seem really neat.

Re: DC Collectibles - Batman: Arkham figure series (Origins,Asylum,City)

No I really like the stands also

Re: DC Collectibles - Batman: Arkham figure series (Origins,Asylum,City)

They're really nice, the snow is very effective also! They could supply fake snow with the stands ! Haha

Re: DC Collectibles - Batman: Arkham figure series (Origins,Asylum,City)

I'm so glad the honeycombs on Bats costume isn't so in your face. I was gonna pick up the latest AC one but I actually prefer this one.

Re: DC Collectibles - Batman: Arkham figure series (Origins,Asylum,City)

Why would the world's greatest sniper wear an orange jacket? :lol What a horrible design choice on Deadshot.

Re: DC Collectibles - Batman: Arkham figure series (Origins,Asylum,City)

Still I would think a big white jacket would make more sense. In AC hes got the same prison overalls everyone else does, he just modded them a bit but he doesn't stand out as much from the surrounding inmates as I'd imagine a little orange blob would against a snowcovered white Gotham.

But a bigger concern is the lack of a rifle...again..

And since he has two closed fists the rifle is not gonna happen unless they go back and resculpt the hands.

I'm really hoping DC Direct doesn't put thigh cuts in every figure now. I HATE they on Mattel's figures, and they don't really help any at all. Now it works on Deathstroke, but I don't care for it on Deadshot.

Also, I wish they would have done ball joints at the hips instead of a pin joint, because I've had the pins break on a couple figures inside the knee and the knee is loose due to this. Hell, my Mr. Freeze came broken... I really don't want to worry about more pins that could break.

My Mister Freeze came with the exact same problem! :(

I know... It's that clear plastic they use on their figures. Clear plastic is chemically weaker than solid coloured plastic, so it could happen to anyone.

I had a Catwoman's arm crumble to bits because I tried to move it just a little bit too high. Replaced it though.

The Batman mould they use for most of the Batman figures has a tendency to have a knee pin break. My Series 3 City one did, my brother's Asylum Series 1 did, and a reviewer's Series 2 City one did. The stress of moving the joint is too much for the peg, not I'm scared to even move my Batman's knees. Hell, my girlfriend's Asylum Joker's knee came broken from the guy I ordered it from.

DC Collectibles needs to STOP using clear plastic for the joints on their figures. It makes ZERO sense to use it. However I've noticed every Asylum Series 2 uses solid coloured plastic on the joints, that's why you don't ever hear of them breaking...

I love these figures, but I'm sick of worrying about them breaking. I'm really picky about the condition of my figures, and having broken loose joints really upsets me.

My Talia was missing silver paint on the little orinments on her shoulder, my Sickened Joker only has one cufflink painted...

Titan Joker I really want, but people have said his legs break because the ball joint it oval while the whole is a circle. When I get it, I'm going to heat up the leg and pop it off and sand the ball joint down some so it doesn't hit a rough spot and snap...

And we can't even tell any of this to DC because they won't even list contact info.

Looking at the bases, they look like the DC Direct Secret Files bases:

If the final product looks that good, that'll be a steal. $35 for a quality prop replica that's functional and features interchangeable parts? TriForce would probably make it entirely out of polystone, non-functional, and stuff it in a $500 polystone Batman boot that no one wanted.:lol

Re: DC Collectibles - Batman: Arkham figure series (Origins,Asylum,City)

Guys good news...The Mad Hatter is going to be in Arkham Origins, revleaed in the newest xbox magazine, so that means we might get a GOOD Mad Hatter figure this time. Hopefully with a crap ton of articulation, though with the amount of articulation they've put into the latest figures I'm not worried.

We'll end up with another small figure with no accessories for the same price as Bane :lol
