Re: Batman: Arkham City - DC Direct - Series 1 action figures

In that video it said that Joker if far from complete. He was sculpted in a week for the show, so I expect he'll look a lot different (better) when he is officially offered for sale. Heck, he'll probably be ready for Toy Fair.

Re: Batman: Arkham City - DC Direct - Series 1 action figures

BBTS tends to post early and lower their prices. My guess is $30 each for the deluxe figures. My guess is also that they'll all be the same price -- like the standard figures -- not priced individually based on the size of the figure.

If they go above that, I'll consider skipping the Titan Joker. I'm in for the Freeze, Croc and Grundy so long as the price isn't ridiculous.

I can't wait to see what ToyFair has to show us for the Arkham line. Really hoping the sculpts for the whole of wave 3 will be ready by then. A few more surprises would be awesome too, like Grundy perhaps or some other deluxe figure to add to the Titan Joker wave. I'm sure a wave 4 preview would be way too much to hope....

i was onabout getting my figure to hold his cape one side so heres the picture

ahhhh cool, was wondering when you'd get round to posting pics :D Nice poses - Armoured Batman looks pretty badass there.

Re: Batman: Arkham City - DC Direct - Series 1 action figures

I can't help the feeling that Freeze is being sold under the "Deluxe" banner to cash in on what is sure to be a popular figure. There haven't been too many options for Mr. Freeze action figures over the years, unlike say The Joker, so DCD knows people will fork over the inflated asking price to have a decent version of the character in their collections.
This is of course if what we are seeing is the final product. If say his goggles have a nice light-up feature, the price would make more sense.

Re: Batman: Arkham City - DC Direct - Series 1 action figures

pics never do justice to the figures. always highlights the colour difference when theyre minimal

I don't know, I would be surprised if we didn't see wave 4 figures actually. Last year we saw Harley at Toy Fair. At NYCC we got all of wave 2 and 1 of wave three. I full expect all of wave 3 to be there and at least 1 of wave 4. Green Lantern had 2 full new waves at Toy Fair last year so its not asking too much IMO.

I would think Titan Joker will also be finalized by then and we'll probably see Grundy too. Hopefully they are willing to say what future figures are there even if they don't have the protos sculpted yet.

Re: Batman: Arkham City - DC Direct - Series 1 action figures

Is there a section on this forum on how people display their Batman Arkham figures? How many of you guys open them and how many are carded collectors?

Well, fingers crossed then! :D At the very least I'd love to see the rest of the wave 3 figures sculpted. A sneak peek of even just one figure from wave 4 would make me very happy. I'm half expecting Grundy to be there too since they mentioned him in that NYCC video.

No seperate thread, people have just been posting their Arkham collection pictures in here on occasion, or there's always the 'show your entire Batman collection' thread in the DC section though that's mainly focused on HT stuff. Here's as good a place as any to post them though I reckon! There's a fair few pics of mine further back in here :D

As for opening/MOC - I'm normally an opener but for this line I made an exception! I have two of every figure, so one to open and one to keep MOC, just incase any unfortunate accidents happen to the open ones. It's proven to be a wise move too with the prices the AA figures go for nowadays - for example if anything happened to my Bane figure it's assuring to know I wouldn't have to fork out three times the original price for a replacement!
But anyway, yes, normaly I'm an opener. With these figures it's a shame to keep them in the packaging too since they're so beautifully sculpted and painted. They all look awesome together on the shelf too and with the growing number of figures set to join the ones we already have they're going to make for one very impressive display!

And just for fun, some pics of my collection I posted earlier in the thread:

Yeah I love your set up. I was thinking of getting a second set but to buy them I have to go online as no shop I know off sells them here in Australia. I like the look of them all together loose also as I have opened all of mine. I agree the sculpting is amazing for these and what is more amazing is that they still have that toy quality. You either get one or the other. I think I will focus on the one set and maybe some doubles if I get them at the right price. As I collector I know mine will stay in excellent condition :)

Re: Batman: Arkham City - DC Direct - Series 1 action figures

^ Same here. As a collector I keep all my figures in pristine condition and they've always stayed that way, but since this line has now become my grail of Batman figure collections I like to have doubles of them all just for my own peace of mind. I doubt I'll ever need to open them, but you never know...

Another pic without my dio:

Re: Batman: Arkham City - DC Direct - Series 1 action figures

Well I have succumbed to my own pressure lol. I have started my carded collection with an order for the Sickened Joker. I'm also winner an auction for the SDCC Batman. I wont open him as he is getting very expensive to have two. Also I already have 3 Batman's open and a 4th when series 2 comes. I have also pre ordered 2nd's of the future series from BBTS. Was very surprised that Killer Croc pre order had already sold out! Just updated my order to collectors. Hoping they get some more in as I will need one to open as he is way to cool not to have opened!

Re: Batman: Arkham City - DC Direct - Series 1 action figures

Killer Croc is back up for pre order at BBTS.

Re: Batman: Arkham City - DC Direct - Series 1 action figures

How long to toy fair now?

Re: Batman: Arkham City - DC Direct - Series 1 action figures

A couple of weeks I think. Not this Sunday but the following, if I'm not mistaken.

Re: Batman: Arkham City - DC Direct - Series 1 action figures

I recently sold off my series 1 on ebay the Hot toys tumbler re-release was too much to pass up and I needed the $ to fund it. after seeing that video someone posted a few posts ago, I really want these deluxe figures badly. series 1 batman and harley are warming the pegs here in toronto tho

Re: Batman: Arkham City - DC Direct - Series 1 action figures

Really? How much are they there?

Re: Batman: Arkham City - DC Direct - Series 1 action figures

I think he means AC, not AA. I still haven't gotten a color corrected AA Harley. I didn't know about the fix until everywhere was sold out :(
