Re: Batman: Arkham City - DC Direct - Series 1 action figures

I sold a set of 3- bat joker and harley for $100 didn't make much but every little bit helps. still have an extra Harley tho. love that fig too much to not have a spare. so it looks like Crock will be the bane of the deluxe series.

Re: Batman: Arkham City - DC Direct - Series 1 action figures

AC ones are what I'm looking for. I want some carded. One of each in series 1 but ebay sellers seem to put up the prices.

Re: Batman: Arkham City - DC Direct - Series 1 action figures

Went to my LCS today and noticed they still have a fair few of the AC series 1 figures left too. To be fair though, it wasn't the strongest of waves. I predict series 2 will be a much better seller.

Re: Batman: Arkham City - DC Direct - Series 1 action figures

My LCS had two Harleys left last week. That was it.

Re: Batman: Arkham City - DC Direct - Series 1 action figures

well even the slow sellers eventually go. I figure alot of shop's ordered as many as they could due to the success of previous waves. so they probably won't get more, but they will last longer, who knows. I just wonder how crazy things will get with these deluxe figures. I think I'll have to go first thing in the morning when they hit. cause chances are DC Direct will make fewer Deluxe compared to the regular figures.

Re: Batman: Arkham City - DC Direct - Series 1 action figures

AA series 2 sat around for quite a while on most sites. Now Bane's going for more than the full wave did!

Re: Batman: Arkham City - DC Direct - Series 1 action figures

^ Yeah it's crazy how much he sells for now.
If I could only wish for one thing from the new AC line it would be a deluxe Bane. I do like the one from AA wave 2, but a deluxe version would suit the character so much more and would look nicer alongside the other deluxe figures like Croc.

Re: Batman: Arkham City - DC Direct - Series 1 action figures

just imagine how much more Bane would go for as a deluxe. or how much less the regular one would go for if the announced it.

Re: Batman: Arkham City - DC Direct - Series 1 action figures

Preordered Catwoman, Riddler, Freeze, Penguin, and Ras.

Don't think I'll get into the smaller side characters like Hatter or Hush and still not sure if I want a Killer Croc.

I am looking forward to seeing how Solomon Grundy turns out though, and I'm hoping we get a 4th wave of regular figs. We still need Talia, Two-Face, Hugo, Deadshot, and I'd like a Mad Hatter/Wonderland Batman. That thing looked delightfully deranged.

Re: Batman: Arkham City - DC Direct - Series 1 action figures

Oh, we're getting a 4th wave no doubt. Its just whether a 5th and 6th will follow.

Re: Batman: Arkham City - DC Direct - Series 1 action figures

There's easily enough scope for a fifth wave, especially since DCD have now shown a willingness to do un-named characters too. Would be easy enough to stretch out the remaining major rogues over waves 4 & 5 with a few thugs thrown in the mix.
A sixth wave would be more of a stretch I think, though not implausible.

Re: Batman: Arkham City - DC Direct - Series 1 action figures

Yeah, 5 waves easily. They could get up to 6 easily too if they do more than 1 kind of thug. Like if we got some of the armored thugs or other variants of a type of thug (ie Joker Thug tank top, Joker Thug hoodie, Joker Thug armored, etc). But sticking to main, named characters, they should have all of them down by wave 5 I'd think.

They can easily have 4 waves of deluxe figures though,

1 - Freeze, Croc
2 - Titan Joker, Grundy
3 - Clayface, Mr. Hammer
4 - Bane, Mr. Sickle

I think at this point, it would be a mistake to not remake Bane as a deluxe. And I think the twins would make decent figures as well. Certainly in the Freeze category of size though.

Re: Batman: Arkham City - DC Direct - Series 1 action figures

we should all spam the DC Direct facebook page with requests for a deluxe bane. I mean people are paying like 120 for bane on e-bay so it's a no brainer.

Re: Batman: Arkham City - DC Direct - Series 1 action figures

I dont think we need more Joker Thugs when in two waves they could give us a Penguin and Two Face Thug. I think 6 waves is very realistic. I wouldn't be surprised if they gave a deathstroke figure to push Lockdown either. I for one would be a happy little vegemite!

^This would be perfect. A Bane remake really ought to happen now they've started a deluxe line, and there does seem to be a fair amount of love for the Abramovici twins too so I'm sure they'd end up good sellers.

I hope we do get at least one more thug from the next waves.
Ideally I'd love to see more than one though - a Penguin thug and Two Face thug would be awesome. Would love to see a Tyger Guard in a future wave too, though if we only get two more waves out of this line I can't see all three of those happening. As much as I'd love it I don't see the line stretching to six waves though, especially if we continue to get five figures per wave. For example:
Wave 4 - Batman, Hugo Strange, Talia, Deadshot, Thug
Wave 5 - Batman, Nightwing, Two Face, Black Mask, Thug

If that were the case I can't see any major draws that would warrant a sixth wave.

Re: Batman: Arkham City - DC Direct - Series 1 action figures

Nope I think your right there SFA. I would think wave 4 and 5 and a deluxe wave would fill the gap before the third game maybe? Definitely next years waves? I really like those two set ups for waves. I would like a Commissioner Gordon figure but he is doubtful. I think they could do a Deathstroke figure in the deluxe style like Freeze due to his accessories. Whats everyones thoughts on him? I just think they will jump at the chance to make a figure from Lockdown and I hope its not an exclusive.

I regards to Batman figures I think I would like one with Clay on him and one from the Hatter sequence. They are at least different from just a color change.

Re: Batman: Arkham City - DC Direct - Series 1 action figures

Howdy guys,

New to this thread, but I did collect most of AA and am working on AC 1 & 2. Leaving them in the boxes for now, but SFA's display looks absolutely killer!

Is the dio itself custom made?

Personally I'd like to see a battle damaged Batman in one of the waves, especially since that's how he spends most of the game. A Hatter Batman does seem like a likely candidate for a variant also.

Thanks! :D
Yeah, the dio is pretty much all custom made, aside from the pavement bases (from various DCD figures) and the rooftop base (from the Mattel Young Justice Red Arrow figure) The rooftop base has been customised though to fit in with the rest of the dio. The rest was all hand made. I used textures from the game wherever possible too to create a more authentic look.

Actually, as happy as I am with my dio, there are just too many figures due out now to all fit on it - so I have something else much bigger and much better planned that will fit all the figures on :D I've just ordered a few materials that I need to make a start on it next week, so it should be done within a couple of weeks hopefully. I'll make sure to post pics once it's finished!

Re: Batman: Arkham City - DC Direct - Series 1 action figures

They could also make a League of Shadows assassin to stretch out the waves. I wouldn't mind a Strange and a Tyger guard as well.

I could see a Wave 6 being like - Batman, Tyger Guard, Calendar Man, Unarmored Freeze, Victor Zsasz

They can easily get to 6 waves IMO. Sure you're kinda of scrapping the bottom of the barrel by then, but I think people do want characters like Calendar Man and even Gordon/Cash so its not too far out of the question to fill up a 6th wave with them and pretty much finish up the line then. They just have to decide whether a new character like Gordon would be better than doing a variant like unarmored Freeze or Zsasz in that final wave.
