Re: Batman: Arkham City - DC Direct - Series 1 action figures

It's cool seeing those protos unpainted like that :D

Apparently there's going to be an unveiling of 2 Arkham City related products at PAX tonight. They specifically stated they would be physical products and not DLC etc.

Edit: The news was tweeted by a high-end collectible company called Tri-Force so I'm presuming it will be their products.
Shame, I wanted to see Solomon Grundy.

I hadn't seen this picture before, really makes the Riddler look amazing.

^ Yeah he looks great there. Also looks like he might have those cool swivel/hinge elbow joints like the AA Ivy figure has.

Re: Batman: Arkham City - DC Direct - Series 1 action figures

I hope too that Riddler comes with his glasses.

Re: Batman: Arkham City - DC Direct - Series 1 action figures

Just seen pics of the 2 items unveiled at PAX today. One is a bust of Batman's arm/gauntlet holding a Batarang, the other is a full size Riddler trophy. They look pretty cool (especially the trophy) but not really my thing.

I don't quite understand what the Batarang thing is actually supposed to be. Seems a bit odd, just an arm coming out of a stand. The Riddler trophy is quite nice, and if it's cheap I might pick it up. But I expect it won't be cheap at all.

Re: Batman: Arkham City - DC Direct - Series 1 action figures

Riddler trophy looks great! I dont like Batman Batarang arm statue.

Re: Batman: Arkham City - DC Direct - Series 1 action figures

What happens if I buy 400 of those Riddler trophies? :lol

you can sell them later for 3 times what you paid for it on evilbay and then use the money to buy 1 dc direct arkham asylum bane action figure

but seriously this is a rather meh, they should have given us a Harley statue in the trophy pose.

Id snap a riddler trophy up. Would be an epic centerpiece to an Arkham collection

Re: Batman: Arkham City - DC Direct - Series 1 action figures

Has anyone put any DC CLASSIC figures up against the Arkham ones? Just wanting to know how they looked as I love the killer moth figure.

The DCUC figures aren't as well constructed or well painted as the AA/AC figures, but they look OK together. Scale fits fine. The DCD figures are just better detailed.

I have a DCUC Riddler with my Arkham figures ...

He blends in just fine ... a least as well as a guy in a bright green spandex can blend in.

I also have several DCD figures from other lines grouped with the AA/AC figures -- an "Infinite Crisis" battle damaged Batman; a "Hush" Jim Gordon; a couple of Batman variants from "The Return of Bruce Wayne"; Superman, Bizarro and Zod from the "Last Son" line; a "Smallville" Clark Kent.

All of them seem to fit in just fine.

Sorry, but you clearly don't know what you are talking about. The DCUC figures are a totally different scale than the Arkham/DCD scale. DCUC are 6" and DCD are 7". The only ones Mattel has made in scale with DCD are the Arkham City figures, which was a good move on their part. So only their Batman Legacy Arkham City figures will look right next to the DCD ones. Trust me, I've got more than enough of both series to know this :lol

Wouldn't be the first time I didn't know what I was talking about. I don't have a ton of the DCUC figures out at the moment. Just the Riddler. I have a couple of Supermans, a Lantern, a Flash and a Green Arrow in a box somewhere. Need a good Green Arrow ... maybe I'll pull him to check.

The DCUC Riddler fits in just fine with the Arkham line. I suppose he's not supposed to be a particularly tall character, though. He's quite a bit shorter than DCD AC Batman (as he should be); a bit shorter than DCD AA Joker; only slightly shorter than the Mattel Two Face; and taller than the DCD Robin.

Maybe it wouldn't work so well with a character that's supposed to be tall ... like Superman or Joker or something. Not sure how tall Killer Moth is supposed to be. The DCD Last Son Superman fits in very well in size and style with the DCD Arkham line.

Re: Batman: Arkham City - DC Direct - Series 1 action figures

Read an article regarding the new DC Direct page that is part of the new DC Comics website and saw this:
For fans attending C2E2 in Chicago this weekend (April 13-15) Geoff Johns will moderate a DC Collectibles panel that will showcase the new website and brand logo, and offer an exclusive sneak peak of never announced DC Collectibles products coming later in 2012. The panel is on Friday, April 13 at 2:30pm CT.
Fingers crossed for new Arkham City figure reveals!!

Re: Batman: Arkham City - DC Direct - Series 1 action figures

I'd be surprised if they wasn't. I'm actually surprised they didn't have a C2E2 exclusive too!
