Re: Batman: Arkham City - DC Direct - Series 1 action figures

Got my Battle Damaged and regular Batman through the post today, regular kicks it's arse tbh but wanted the BD one just because of it's limited availability.

As I suspected in hand these aren't as great as they look in pictures but I managed to get the two for a fairly good price considering they're long sold out and I reckon I'll still try and get Joker & Harley Quinn. I also stuck Croc and Hush on pre-order the other day and am looking forward to wave 3 of Arkham City and the new regular Batman :)

Re: Batman: Arkham City - DC Direct - Series 1 action figures

^ It's unusual to hear anyone say these don't look as good in hand... most collectors agree that these figures look better in-hand and are definitely DCD's best work to date in terms of sculpt/paintjob/durability.

I do agree that there's something about the regular Batman that sets it just above the BD version. Can't wait for the Arkham City series 3 regular Batman to be released as I'm sure that'll quickly become my favourite version though :D

Re: Batman: Arkham City - DC Direct - Series 1 action figures

I think the thing is these days I only really get high end stuff so naturally a £15 figure isn't going to be as impressive, that said some video reviews I saw I did think these looked really good and a lot better than the £15 figures I used to get as a kid!

Dont forget though I'm keeping these sealed up so I am purely going by what they look like in the packaging :)

I assume you collect them all going by your diorama? You looking forward to wave 2 of AC?

Re: Batman: Arkham City - DC Direct - Series 1 action figures

Ahh I see! Yeah I think you really need to see these out of package to really appreciate them in-hand. Having said that though, I do think they look great enough sealed too, especially with the awesome packaging.
Yeah I do have all the Arkham figures released so far, definitely my favourite Batman figure line to date. Very much looking forward to series 2 - some great characters in that wave. Catwoman and Riddler are the two I'm most looking forward to!

Re: Batman: Arkham City - DC Direct - Series 1 action figures

I guess it was too good to be true... urban-collector took down the pre-order. Oh well, bring on AC Series 2!

Re: Batman: Arkham City - DC Direct - Series 1 action figures

I dont think they ever had it. It doesnt add up in my eyes,

Re: Batman: Arkham City - DC Direct - Series 1 action figures

Seems odd to me too with it being such a short space of time since they went up....
I'm not familiar with UC but wouldn't they just leave the items up with 'sold out' on them rather than 'not available'?

Re: Batman: Arkham City - DC Direct - Series 1 action figures

Pretty sure these are all new pics (if not forgive me);

I've seen those pics but never get tired of looking at them :D
Wave 3 is a very strong wave in my eyes what with a regular suit Batman, Penguin, Ras, Azreal and those awesome thugs!

Re: Batman: Arkham City - DC Direct - Series 1 action figures

Wish there was a good pic of Ra's face. Can't find one anywhere. Want to see if he has the bright eyes!

Re: Batman: Arkham City - DC Direct - Series 1 action figures

Here's one that shows his face. He does have the 'glowing bright green/yellow' eyes but they're not overly prominent:

When is wave 3 due to hit, do we know yet?

Hm, see I'd say it's not as strong as wave 2. All the characters in the wave are a bit grey and bland. I mean, I'm buying all of them lol, but there's no Riddler or Mad Hatter to 'brighten up' the wave.

I'm not even sure what I mean tbh. There's just not much colour in this wave WHICH OBVIOUSLY MEANS ITS TERRIBLE lol.

Re: Batman: Arkham City - DC Direct - Series 1 action figures

^ Haha you can't defy that kind of logic! lol

Wave 2 is definitely a strong wave too, probably more so in terms of character selection, but I do feel wave 3 is a very strong wave aswell. Penguin is one of the bigger/popular stars of the game, Azreal is an awesome design/sculpt, Ras is a must-have and of course there's the long overdue regular Batman.
I'm very much looking forward to wave 2 though as Riddler and Catwoman are two of my favourites from the game. I personally think their sculpts look great too. Not long to go now! :D

Ex-Parrot - I'm pretty sure wave 3 is slated for a September release.

Re: Batman: Arkham City - DC Direct - Series 1 action figures

Does anyone else think Batman's head looks a bit too small for his body in that pic? I'm assuming it's just the angle from which the photo was taken.

Detail on some of these looks incredible!

Re: Batman: Arkham City - DC Direct - Series 1 action figures

Cheers for the info once again sfa, appreciated as always pal.

Gotta get me that Joker thug (in both retail and con ex variant).

Re: Batman: Arkham City - DC Direct - Series 1 action figures

No worries! :D

Actually, I believe the joker thugs are both going to be available at retail and that they'll be packed 50/50 per case, so presumably fairly easy to get hold of...
Definitely need to get a few of them myself - great army builders!

Which is kind of funny since he wasn't produced in any less #'s than the others.
