Re: Batman: Arkham City - DC Direct - Series 1 action figures

:lol Just that every version I've seen of her has the corner of her lipstick really sharp on one side and sloppy on the other, so it looks like she has a cold sore. I saw these today in person at my LCS and passed on them. He had 4 Catwomen and not one had a good paint app, all wonky. :monkey2

Yea I see what they tryed doing with Catwoman's neck and the collar but its still way too stubby.

Re: Batman: Arkham City - DC Direct - Series 1 action figures

The Quality on these gets worse and worse as each wave hits.....bummer. Catwoman needed to be a homerun

Re: Batman: Arkham City - DC Direct - Series 1 action figures

Got my set today :rock glad I put a set on hold. I think they only got in 4 full sets and MH and Riddler sold out when I picked them up. Made sure I had some with nice paint jobs since there was a lot of Bat, CW and Hush

here's a few pictures

Nice pictures. I think these all turned out great actually! Catwoman really stands out to me as the best in your bunch, but the others look good too. Can't wait to get hold of these myself - hopefully they'll all be in the UK next week.
Disappointed there's no stands with all but Hatter though. Seems a very odd decision to make halfway through the line.

Re: Batman: Arkham City - DC Direct - Series 1 action figures

Catwoman would have looked a lot better with less red lipstick. Would have made a big difference. Just like Sideshows Sarah Connor with her big red lips.

My comic shop is all sold out of Riddler and Catwoman, still plenty of the others. I am contemplating getting Hatter now as I worry he may become harder to find...even though I feel he is well overpriced at $20 :slap

Re: Batman: Arkham City - DC Direct - Series 1 action figures

I think the only worry I have with these figures is Riddler. His paintjob makes him look almost scabby, and the question mark on his tie is off in those pics. The rest look entirely alright. I can see Catwoman isn't spot-on, but it doesn't bother me that much. As long as my Riddler has a good paintjob, I'll be happy.

Re: Batman: Arkham City - DC Direct - Series 1 action figures

Yay, my order for Series 2 arrives today from FOTD.

If anyone is still looking to buy the whole set of 5 figures I suggest going to Figure of the Day.com. They'll probably have the deal up again tonight at 12am PST. I bought it for $84.99 with free shipping in the US, but add tax if you live in CA :/

The set went up back instock last night and they still did not sell out. $85 shipped great price, I just went ahead and paid $100 for the set since it was already in my grasp. The set is pretty solid. I could understand if people is complaining about the bad paint job because I saw some when picking my set up. I'm just glad that DCD is still pumping out more characters from this line. I'll take anything they'll throw at me.

I kinda like Batman :yess:

Re: Batman: Arkham City - DC Direct - Series 1 action figures

One of my lcs 401 games was sold out of Riddler, and the other had only received 4 in total between 2 locations- they priced him at $25 a pop same with hatter. anyway riddler's face looks squished and the only 2 figures I saw if him had bad paint apps. all the catwoman figures had the left eye painted darker and her chest had noticeable brush strokes forming a v pattern.

Re: Batman: Arkham City - DC Direct - Series 1 action figures

These look awful, Catwoman has no neck and apparently a herpes outbreak, no glasses for Riddler makes his eyes look wrong, Hush holds his guns like he's having a seisure or some sort of paralysis, no 1/10 on Hatter's hat and no bases. Talk about a half assed unfinished wave. What is hatter doing with his hands/wrists? What's the point of articulation when you make his hands posed like that..

I'm starting to get that feeling too. They've seen this line is a huge hit and they are cutting all kinds of corners now. I hope this wave tanks and they realize they can't get away with the crappy quality.

I'm very pissed to hear about no stands. Totally ruins the display since ALL of the other figures have them. The Deluxe figures would have been fine without them of course, but ALL of the standard figures should have them. Especially since they are jacking the prices up and now, giving us LESS? :pfft:

Re: Batman: Arkham City - DC Direct - Series 1 action figures

I picked up Riddler and he looks great, keeping all my DCD Arkham stuff MOC, might grab Catwoman and Hush but, the rest no thanks.

Picked up AA Kai Batman yesterday for $60 and can't wait to crack him open, looks really good and i initially hated the figure.

Prices have been the same in the UK for the range. My LCS always had them at £19.99

Forbidden planet have them at £15 down from £16.99, plus £3.50 each for postage, or £15 postage for the lot. So roughly, $24 each at forbidden planet plus $24 postage, $160 for them at my local shop.

AA were £16.99-£24.99 each depending on the place. People want £75 each on eBay for one of the AA figures its that daft. So the price is consistent over here for all the figures, cant grumble. I dont think they are bad quality at all, some of the series has always been hit and miss IE Ivy came with nothing and was rather plain and poor, sometimes Batmans eyes were poorly done.

Theyve all had faults in each series. I mean i wasn't impressed with Bane to be honest, I hated his pose and how he stood and I would've prefered him to have the titan-less red coloured tubes. But otherwise, the figures have been solid like AA and AC series 1.

DC Direct is a joke. Do they still think that people are going to buy whatever they make now with Mattel, SSC and Koto having DC license?

Re: Batman: Arkham City - DC Direct - Series 1 action figures

DC Direct is a joke. Do they still think that people are going to buy whatever they make now with Mattel, SSC and Koto having DC license?

They arent a joke. And yeah, people will buy these over others. Why? lets break it down;

Mattel; very toy like. Some are great, some are really poor. To me, the joints are clearly visible and batman is absolutly abysmal. BUT, I love the idea of doing the DLC costumes. Id love a BTAS figure, or Beyond.

SSC; Cant compare. £200+ for one figure. £85-£100 for a full set of 5 figures. SSC is for a completly difference audience. DCD can get the casual buyers, those who are on a budget but still want some great quality, and they get a full, consistent line up which is also comprehensive.

Koto; £55 each over here, and the quality is great, but they arent accurate IMO. They look far too anime/japanese style. Jokers face looks well off, Batman looks like he is in his early 20's. Plus its a limited line up of figures that are already released a year and a half ago, which alot of the collectors already have. Nice idea's for accessories though, which DCD needs to get their arse in gear and give us some decent accessories with some of the figures.

But DCD to me, offer the best and consistent line up, it still has great quality, they still are in my country at least, the cheapest figures which dont look like toys and to be honest, all that ive seen are great quality.

Re: Batman: Arkham City - DC Direct - Series 1 action figures

The only one I truly don't care for in this wave is Hatter, the rest are great. Catwoman really is the best of the wave, but Hush is really good too. The Riddler I'm sure I'll like more once I get some glasses for him. Bring on the deluxe wave.

Re: Batman: Arkham City - DC Direct - Series 1 action figures

I was looking at the sculpt of Catwoman today, and I really think its the paint that's poor or really just wrongly applied. She seems to have all the right facial features, just that paint it whats making you want to say "wuff." she does look great from viewing distance. I should have mine repainted by the end of the day if nothing comes up. I've also modded the hood on Robin so he doesn't look as cone headed/dorky. I'll have pics of that up tonight as well

Re: Batman: Arkham City - DC Direct - Series 1 action figures

if anyone knows where to get glasses for him please share

Dollhouse glasses in 1:12 scale is what you're going to want to look for. They have some decent ones on eBay right now, but I'm holding off until I find some with square frames, like he has in the game.

Re: Batman: Arkham City - DC Direct - Series 1 action figures

Im just gonna sculpt some glasses out of epoxy for him...
