Anyone else feel that the weapons in DS2 are disappointing compared to the ones from DS1? I find myself not using any of the new ones and opting to fall back on the ones introduced in the first game.

A little yeah, I think the first games weapons were just so reliable.
During my first playthrough I only used one new weapon throughout, which was the detonator. I always love proximity mine based weapons.

On my second playthrough I'm being a little more experimental, and playing around with the new weapons. I'm having fun with the javelin gun, once you've upgraded it a bit, and the seeker rifle can take out guys pretty quickly.

Still on my first playthrough so I can't waste more money on the new weapons, but I might give them another chance in my second time through.

I'm just too comfortable with my carry-over favorites from DS1. Plasma Cutter, Ripper, Force Gun (or sometimes Contact Beam).

My first play through I used the Javlin, plasma, and force (special edition that you got with the CE of the game). This game been using the the line instead of the Javlin. I did also use the Rivet gun quite a bit because it was part of my DLC. My next play through I'll buy some of the other guns so I can work towards getting a kill with every gun.

Done with my second playthrough. Picked up and over half way through my third. Mainly just trying to get all the achievements (44/50 so far) I can before I start the last two difficulty settings. The second to last you can actually start with new game plus so I'll be bringing all my built up stuff into that game.

Just finished my Zealot play through. I think I only need three more achievements...one of which is beat it on hardcore :monkey2

Thats gonna be my next play through after this. Then yeah going through on hard core is gonna be the biggest pain to get.

This one is even better than the first. Definitely going through a second time on a harder difficulty.

Yeah, I agree....many things in the first bothered me, such as the Zero gravity sections. Much more fun now...

Glad to see most of the monsters from the first back, as well as the wave 2 type Necromorphs.....

Baby Necros are not as creepy as they should......

Yeah those babies are creepy.

I think the freakiest monster for me are the stalkers (those charging guys)...but not when they're actually charging. It's when they've got no legs and they're still coming at you full speed, they make that horrible sound which is the most terrifying when you hear it but don't see them.

Yeah, hearing them and not seeing them sucks. Stalkers are nasty as well especially since they like the kids attack in packs. One of the necromorphs I hate the most are the guys with the exploding bombs as arms. Those bastards move fast and can screw you up if you're not careful.

Those guys cost me a few lives during Zealot...I fear they shall be the bane of my hardcore play through.
