oh man, I'm waiting for DS3 so I fired up Silent Hill 2 on the HD collection - so scary, I love it. I just finished the hospital from my old save game from months ago.

Wow, only 4 chapters in the game and I'd say I have enjoyed the first four chapters of this game more so than DS1 or DS2. They really are keeping the game fresh and amazing. The way the game started surprised me and it felt like a fresh start to a game that I haven't experienced before.

I was anticipating sort of a 'sell-out' sequel, but so far it appears it may end up being the best of the trilogy.

Awesome to hear; thanks for sharing your thoughts!!

Very good to hear. Does it still have a creepy atmosphere?

Yes, the creepy atmosphere is there, but it has changed a lot in the first few chapters. I can explain in spoilers a bit if you'd like to read. I will try my best to not give away too much.

-You start mysteriously looking for something.
-Later you are escaping from a gunfight in a city.
-Then you are on a spaceship flying to an unknown planet.
-Something happens and you evacuate the ship in space, very tense and action packed.
-Using an escape cube, you dock onto a ship which is empty, and the mood is eerie. You spend time in this area, flying around space in your suit, exploring what is going on, what happened to all these ships (with an amazing soundtrack perfect for space, almost a mix of Space Odyssey and Star Trek).

There is a lot of new territory, environments and settings that this game is taking place in that the DS franchise has not explored before. It is expanding the DS universe and making it even greater. It's been amazing, and there are 19 chapters total! I only expect the game to get better.

I don't feel bad for EA either. They did it to themselves. And by the way game informer gave resident evil 6 a great score. And many other terrible games! I'm officially pissed off at what is going on with survival horror games as of late

This is what a feared. I want a good horror game. Don't care about a standard 3rd person shooter. There's enough of those already. Bloody EA. Not sure what's worse changing Mass Effect from an RPG to a 3rd person shooter or turning dead space from a survival horror to a 3rd person shooter. I'm getting a bit fed up with how gaming is heading the same way as cinema.

So the IGN reviewer disliking it represents all gamers? I am gonna play for myself...and am not worried

Would someone kindly post the print review for IGN? they are blocked for me at work. I used to repect GI until they gave ME3 a perfect 10, so them giving DS3 9.7 concerns me a little...I guess they've lost some credibility with me; IGN never had any, so their reviews means less than nothing in my book.

just finished part 1 wow what a great game. the sound in the game is what scared me the most. jesus this is probably one of the most scariest game I have played since FEAR.

I am so glad I played this game. the final fight was pretty epic.
I had me on the edge of my seat.

Installing part 2 right now Back to Back dead space action.
Hoping to play 3 by the weekend or sooner.
