Anyone know if these guys ( Hicks, Apone, :chew Hudson) are still worth any $$$ ? I have the set and was wondering if they are still as hot as before ?

I don't see too many people talking about them anymore .

cheers

Nope. They're worth about 50 bucks each tops. Tell you what, I'll take them off your hands for like two hundred bucks, see if I can do anything worth while with them. No need to thank me.

They still go for a fair price on eBay, though Hicks doesn't go for as much nowadays as I've seen him go for in the past ($500+). Though not related to value, they are woefully unimpressive compared with current Hot Toys efforts. That is a license that should be revisited, IMO.

I disagree the Marines are still top notch as far as their armor is concerned.

But to revisit it with likenesses sometime after redoing T1 would be fine by me.

Yeah, I was looking at Hicks the other day and the sculpting leaves a lot to desire but the armor and accessories are awesome and would still be hard to top, even by today's standards.

That's understandable but I'm talking doll dots. HT have improved by leaps and bounds, its hard to believe this figure is only about 4-5 years old.

licensed figures are worthless to me if they don't have the likenesses.
all you get for a $500 "Hicks" figure is a generic military figure you could've got for $40 at Toys R Us.

and yes, this thread should be locked and deleted.

I believe that was initially the problem with their BD T-800, as well.

Yes, but having the ability to show the Endo wasn't too shabby of a compensation. For people who want a Hicks, best bet is to pick up the figure (or some loose armor and a TT), and pick up one of the Biehn sculpts from one of the talented artists on these boards.

ha! true. that thing is still worth some decent $$ now too for some reason.
i'd understand if it looked at all like arnold but it's just a robot guy in 80s clothes.

Yes but its also the easiest way to make an Arnold custom from T1, of which an official figure does not exist.

If you are a fan of the series, I still think this set is hard to beat ! Put a Les Hicks head on and then add a APONE head and you are in heaven !

True. I just put the SS Arnold head on the HT body and it makes a great figure. I'm happy with it. The SS sculpt is actually a decent likeness. Its the body and clothes that make that figure a fail.

No doubt. I have no problem with that figure per se, I just remember there being a controversy when the figure was first released about Arnold not giving permission to use his likeness for the figure. The only problem I had with the BD T-800, if any, was that the Terminator never appeared like that at any point in the movie. That being said, I choose an awesome design over screen accuracy every time.
