Nope...hasn't gotten old yet.

I'm sure this will be a good game given it's pedigree, but I was pretty Halo'd out at the end there and this looks to be a new version of that...need to see more.

Can't go wrong with the Fett T-visor look:

Bungie admits that there is no secret to creating a brand new fictional universe from scratch. In order to create the world of Destiny, Bungie drew hundreds of pieces of concept art, argued about the team’s ideas in meetings, and scraped a lot of concepts and started over before they finally landed on a concept they loved. You can see examples of this concept art in the image gallery at the end of the story.

During an hour-long presentation at the Game Developers Conference, Bungie’s Joe Staten and Christopher Barrett talked about what the company went through to design Destiny’s sci-fi/fantasy setting. Here are a few of the fun facts and details the duo revealed.

Destinty started as a fantasy world. The team liked the idea of tapping into old myths and wanted to make a game featuring castles and horses and beasts with strange names…and giant frogs.
Bungie made more concept art for Destiny than it has for all of its other previous games combined. The art phase took over seven months.
One early concept art piece that really sparked the team’s imagination featured a space tiger.
While the game was still being designed as high fantasy, a large castle sat in the center of town. This was intended to be the game’s major hub. This concept evolved into the Traveler – the large sphere that can be seen in concept art today.
Bungie went though a hundred iterations of the Traveler’s space ship.
For inspiration, Bungie looked at Westerns as well as films like Stalker and Solaris. However, the team didn’t want to take themselves too seriously so they also looked at Terry Gilliam’s film Time Bandits.
Seventies artists like Peter Gric and John Harris were also very inspirational for the team.
Vampires and ghost influenced the creation of the Awoken character class, but there was once a fourth race that players could choose as well: The Tiger Man. This race was a group of noble beasts who were very wise and looked like werewolves, but they were eventually cut from the game.

Halo creator Bungie has updated the site for its upcoming shooter, Destiny, revealing lots of new information about the game's classes and universe.
First up, the update*reveals more about the Guardians that players will be able to control in the game, depending on whether you opt for a Warlock, Titan or Hunter.
The site explains, "Warlocks have long studied the Traveler, mastering some of its arcane energies. Its true purpose still remains a great mystery, but discovering truth has always driven you into the unknown. Now, our enemies are the only thing that stands between you and the lost wonders of our Golden Age."
The Titans, on the other hand, sound far more physically focused: "The first Titans built the Wall, and gave their lives to defend it. Now, you stand in the same high place, steadfast and sure, protecting all who shelter in your shadow. You hail from a long line of heroes, forged from strength and sacrifice. Our enemies may be deadly and merciless, but so are you."
Finally, Hunters sound like they're reformed rogues: "Hunters once prowled the wilderness and wastelands, taking big risks for even bigger rewards. You're no outlaw—at least, not anymore—but making your own luck has always meant bending the rules. Your unique brand of daring and ingenuity is needed now more than ever."
In terms of locations, Abandoned Earth and the Moon are both detailed, though currently blank teaser pages are also present for Mars and Venus. Two enemy factions are also covered: The Fallen and The Cabal. The Fallen are described as a galactic scourge and come in Dreg, Vandal and Captain varieties, while the Cabal are rumoured to be centred on Mars.

Ok, the E3 footage has me sold - it looks like a lot of fun. Any chance of them supporting the universe via novels like Halo? Oh yeah.....Bungies forum needs work though - its a total mess there

I do see a lot of Halo influences still in this game. I mean, we have new Brutes, a new flying 343 Guilty Spark, but all-in-all, very cool

Although this looks good, it doesn't feel as epic and groundbreaking as it looks like it's trying to be.

To be honest it's part of a genre thats so frequent that they all start to look alike after a while. Halo, Killzone, Mass Effect ect...
