You can F@#k 'em, but you can't beat 'em!!!
SPURS = NBA Champions [again]

Especially when you have to play without your First All NBA center and his back-up in the crucial game.

With the infamous hipcheck by Robert Horry proving the deciding winning move, do they now play Anaheim of the NHL for the title?

Kobe had to know something was up when they drafted a 17 year old, I am actually rather puzzled that this wasn't an issue sooner.

Te Spurs had their championship parade today. Thank you Robert Horry for bringing out the hip check of doom at our darkest hour.:emperor :emperor :emperor

horry will need to get toe rings pretty soon, he's about to be out of fingers to put rings on.

He helped win my Lakers some, so I have fond memories of him...although I do have to question that hip check.

yeah it was a rough hip check. he played for Alabama in college with Sprewell so i've always followed him since he entered the league.

Could you be referring to the 16 Championships won by the Boston Celtics including the 8 in a row they won from 1959 to 1966?

check-mate!

Meaning?

They want to build on Bynum for the future?

Kobe is clearly in his prime, it is the worst possible decision to build for the future ... don't play build and future; win the titles NOW while Kobe is the best in the league. :emperor

Technically wasn't the deciding winning move when Amare and Diaw foolishly got off the bench and broke a rule that has been around for a decade.:monkey5 :monkey5 :monkey5

Boston's 8 in a row was an astonishing feat than will never be repeated in any sport, I bow in respect to that. :bow

I couldn't agree more, It's too early to start thinking about the future, add a few pieces to the puzzle and go for more titles now. If they (Lakers Mgmt) are reluctant to do so I can see why Kobe is frustrated.

Exactly picco - just baiting the hook a little. I think the only streak that matches what the Celts did was what John Wooden and UCLA did in college hoops. We will never see that again.

Interesting that Kevin Garnett will accept a trade .......... but not to the Lakers as some here are praying for .... but to the ....

PHOENIX SUNS!!!!! Yeah!!!!

However, Phoenix would be seven stages past stupid to trade a much younger Amare Stoudemire for the aging Garnett. Remember that line from RAIDERS OF THE LOST ARK ... "its not the years its the mileage" .... KG has tons of mileage on him. Maybe KG will play one more year in the Frozen North and then jump to Phoenix without them having to give up anything except money? Now that would be something. I know Bodie would love it :D

KG in Phoenix?.. *BARFS*

Trading Amare for KG might not be great long term, but acutely might result in a few rings..

*Ideal situation for Bodie*

Kobe to Chi

Chi bundle to Minn

KG to LA

Kobe has to go IMO.. but only for a very select scenario..

On a side note I hear the Nets turned down a Kidd for Bynum swap.. A move they would have done last February.. You snooze you lose Mitch..

Since the Horry hip check attack occurred right by the bench area, the league could have very well declared that the so called altercation (which was much ado about nothing once Nash rose up from the ground) was within the bench area. Having said that, the so called iron clad rule would never have been used to unfairly punish the Suns and decide the crucial game 5 before the tip-off even was held. This was far more about putting Stoudemire in his place in back of the bus that it was anything else.

So what happened at the meeting Friday between Kupchak and Bryant?

I thought the hip check was mid court..

If Stoudemire learns to keep his mouth closed maybe the league won't focus on him as some suspect..

Meeting between Kupchak and Kobe?.. I didn't know about this.. I'd love to be a fly on the wall for that one..
