These will be my first Dinosauria pieces. I've admired the line for a while, but the prices are steep! Hopefully, I'll eventually get one or two of the big ones to go with these.

Yes, I ordered two, but not to flip. I thought I would like having the pair.

In my case, I have ordered two Brachiosaurus egg ornaments in the past, one for myself to keep, and the other as a present for a friend of mine.... Atleast, there were plenty of them back then...

I've got five of those myself, but like you said, there were plenty to go around. I only really bought one, the other four came free with other purchases from Sideshow. I just looked on ebay, and someone's trying to sell the Brachiosaurus Egg "ornament" for $125. That's just ridiculous. I feel sorry for anyone desperate enough to pay that steep price. :(

I can't wait to see what price I'll have to pay for this hatchling, since I can't do without it. Jorge did an amazing job sculpting this, and Steve's paint job is amazing once again. :horror

This makes a good lesson I guess. I was just about figuring this line was dead in the water hence my lack of activity..then this is dropped on us. Maybe Sideshow was getting tired of nay-sayers..heh

Jeremy I do hope you and the others who have been faithful to the line since the first piece can get one. If I see one on ebay or for sale I'll post it up here. I encourage others to help out the same way if you already have one. :)

Thanks Chris. I'm glad you were able to snag one. Thing is, from the time it went up for pre-order to the time it sold out, I was working. Even if I had internet connection on my phone, I wouldn't risk my job for the hopes of snagging a rare Spooktacular item. I guess for those that would dare buy recasts, someone will eventually see the want for this piece, and start recasting it. :slapLook what happened with the 400 edition size Alien Warrior 1:1 Bust. I thought that had an even more ridiculous edition size for how popular the franchise was and still is. Although I'm sure that still took way longer to sell out. Longer than a few hours. Sometimes Sideshow is really confusing. :lol

Too bad this hatchling wasn't made a part of the Legendary series. Open edition all the way. :lol

I just heard back from sideshow regarding shipping cost to Sweden. They said it's still being manufactured, so they can't say for sure, but they guessed 50USD. And I don't think I like it that much, considering my budget for collectibles and fun stuff is already very strained.

I'll make my deciscion when they give a exact quote, but someone here might be lucky enough to get "mine" if I cancel.

Wow, that seems like a lot for such a small item. Man it has to suck living in another country.... I don't know how the heck you guys can order anything.

I got my order in on this super early. Glad I got one. I thought for $39.99, it was a steal and a no brainer to get one. Always wanted to get into this line, but I already have too many lines going. If I love this little baby, I might have to check out some other pieces.

Mike from Prehistoric Times magazine just posted this neat little tidbit in regards to our discussion of FB about the Ankylosaur egg statue :

" Mike Fredericks: Sold out but Sideshow managed to find one to send for review in Prehistoric Times magazine ( reviewed next issue) also their upcoming Dilophosaurus model. Thanks Sideshow! "

So...DILOPHOSAURUS !!!! ;D

There are so many awesome ways to do Dilophosaurus and make it look really sweet.

I'm actually just finishing up my own juvenile one :

Great news Chris. I wonder how this will compare to David Silva's Dilophosaurus. His is 1/16 scale, so hopefully this will be even bigger. :horror

I hope it's as awesome as his..or dare I hope..better !? I've actually been tempted to buy David's since I like the pose and all so much..but I had this feeling that Sideshow would get one out eventually. Mostly due to the JP fame associated with it at the least. If it's a maquette I figure it will be as large as the Rex by Krentz or maybe even the Spino..they have done some BIG pieces recently as well. The winter issue of PT will be out with a pic Mike said so I wonder when we will hear about this ? Nov/Dec ? The anky egg was probably to draw people in and then they announce a new big piece. If it comes out earlier in 2013 then we might even get 2 pieces next year. I'm of course guessing a lot. ;)

I'd like to think it will be at least as big as the Krentz T-rex. I'm hoping no one will be disappointed by this statue having no frill. :lol It can be hard to separate that image from JP, from what is reality. :lol

Having just ordered the Stegosaurus Maquette, I'm even more eager to see this new piece announced, and somehow get a Euoplocephalus hatchling. This is the only Sideshow line I collect, and the only one I want to be a completest with.
