Well I just now noticed, completely by accident, that this release was available. Disappointed I didn't catch it earlier as this will likely be the only piece I'm missing from this series.

O'well as a collector I'm very disappointed but as a fan I'm hopefully that if it helps to bring more awareness to the series and will help to continue (and dare I say grow) this line.

I heard that my local retailer purchased two of these for two customers, and although I have an extremely low chance, if one of the customer cancels his/her pre-order from our retailer, he said that he'll sell one to me....

Kinda frustrating dude that you're gonna give a second copy to a kid who'll probably break the thing when there are diehard, long-term collectors of the Dinosauria line on here who are upset they couldn't even get one. That's just rubbing people's faces in it.

Sorry but this just makes me think again that Sideshow really ought to have limited this to 1 per customer.

SMH, your upset that I got one for my nephew who is Dinosaur fan? Sure he could break it but it could help foster a kids dreams. Ill do agree that SS should have made it 1 per person but they didnt. I actually waited until the waitlist went up to get try for a second verses just outright buying 2 from the jump giving folks a chance to get one. Who knows I may just keep the 2nd one and give it away during Spook next year. I do understand the frustration of the guys who collect the dino line and missed out...that sucks.

Yes, because a child's joy is worth nothing. Bad uncle, bad.

This thread is seriously becoming a downer, mocking less-than-die-hard-dinosaur-fans(and dragon-fans.) Why can't people share their joy?

It makes me mad that if I cancel due to high shipping fees* it could go to someone who think they deserve it more than others AND talk about it. I would never act this way if someone got a collectible I wanted, even if I did think I deserved it.

*Sideshow pointed out that taxes and customs were not included in the 50 dollars they thought it would cost. So I'm pretty sure I'll cancel.

I dont know how the overseas collectors do it with all the fees.

More than once has shipping prices made ignore fun stuff on ebay. I've never ordered through sideshow either, because of the shipping and item costs. I thought this piece were going to be my first, but seems like I just don't want it enough.

Sideshow should have given the overseas collectors a chance to order before the rest, since those collectors willingness to pay high shipping makes them more deserving of the collectibles ;)

:rotfl I see what you did there:lol

I'm not mocking anybody. And as I've said before, I don't blame casual buyers for grabbing what they can, (though you have to realise that reading about people debating what to do with their spare copies is only going to add to the frustration).

Rather I blame Sideshow for shamefully disregarding all those collectors of this line who've faithfully supported it since its inception. If anything they should have been offered first chance at this item as a loyalty reward. Sadly Sideshow didn't think enough of them to do that.

:exactly:

That really sums up my feelings as well.

maybe they just wanted to even the field,,, the owners who own everything will have to shell out flipper prices like those who dont have the earlier ones lol,

Think about what you are saying...how can sideshow fairly distribute the statue by "offering first chance as a loyalty reward". You honestly trying to blame sideshow for setting a reasonable price & es on a statue, then it got soldout quickly? :slap

Just get it off ebay for a little bit more when it's first released, i am sure you got a bunch flippers trying to unload them.

It's not Sideshow's fault. It's your fault for not being fast enough ordering.

:goodpost::exactly: We all had the chance, that's the way it works with spook releases, black friday pieces, etc. They gave a hint the day before, I figured egg had to be something dino related, so I watched the site. It took over an hour to sell out.

The more people whine the more I want to flip my extra one.

Haha right?! This is my first Dino and will go perfectly with my Mort statue when they both arrive!

Yeah, I was glued all week to Spook! Between the contests, new releases, sneak peaks, etc everyone would have seen this! Plus it did take over an hour to sell out and we even counted down on the boards!

What I blame them for is not applying a restriction of 1 per customer as they usually do for all exclusive items. Why - on such a widely attractive piece - restrict the number of people who have a chance at it by allowing the purchase of multiples? I can't figure the sense in that at all.

The more people whine the more I want to flip my extra one.

Cool, I hope you do. It's the only way many collectors are going to be able to get one.

Not necessarily. I honestly didn't know anything about it til about an hour or so before ordering and if a friend hadn't told me I would have missed out as well.

I don't really collect anything else from Sideshow so I don't pay attention to all the big events they do that well.

I really figured Sideshow was about done with this line they way they have been treating it recently so I think it reasonable many of us were caught off guard by this.

Many of us only collect dinos so that's why many of us missed out. Also when it went up for sale maybe wasn't the best time. Many had limited power or internet access from that storm on the coast near here. Other have jobs that interfered.

I can see both sides of the issue though. Complaining won't help , those that missed out feel a bit betrayed by a company whose main goal in the end is money. Just the way it is. All to do know is hope some members here list them for sale or hit ebay and take your chances. All we can do is if something like this goes on sale again is to tell other members and try to help them out so they are more aware of it. Just do what you can.

Well said Chris. Like you said, my job interfered with me being able to get online. There was no way I could have possibly had a chance at this, not that I'm complaining, just saying to any who think everyone can be online 24/7.

Btw, to tell people that their whining makes you want to flip the extra statue you pre-ordered, only justifies their complaints. Even if you weren't serious, there are those who ordered this piece for that very purpose. Like I said earlier, has no one gotten upset when flippers bought up past Spooktacular exclusives? I find it hard to believe that we are the first to complain about the flipping of an exclusive item.

Again, I say congrats to everyone who got a pre-order in, who will actually enjoy this piece. Be you Dinosauria collector or someone brand new to the line, I am truly happy for you. To those who couldn't care less about the piece, or just bought it to flip.....:dunno
