Ok so I just bought an iMac a few days ago. So far I love it! I will post a review later once I am more used to it. I won't even post what I like or dislike yet. Just wanted to see who all is using one now. Please lets not make this a debate thread.

I have a iMac and a Macbook and love them both, the cost is higher than a PC but it's a better machine.

On a good ol iMac here:

I have a Mac Book Pro from this year and a PowerMac Dual G5.

I am a film student, so I need the best. :)

PCs make me sick.

Granted I have a crappy Winblows on my Mac Book Pro. I have to make certain my websites work on IE 6 and 7.

I have a home built Windows XP desktop and a black macbook laptop. I need a both option...

I also have a PC laptop at home and use a Mac at work. After a long day, I come home and I want to hug my PC - I love it so much more. :D My boss has a new powerbook and that thing is so frustrating. Maybe some of you Mac owners can shed some light on it....first there is the annoying default issue of the font getting bigger and smaller if you move your fingers on the pad...which is so frustrating...because I use the pad a lot and end up having to keep readjusting the font size. PLUS the wireless connection is so darn slow on that thing.....I'll have my PC laptop next to hers....both using the same wireless connection and my computer will just fly along while hers is so slow...and the pages keep refreshing automatically...Perhaps there are simple solutions to these problems...except the font thing...I've already called on that and it's the factory default setting that can not be changed. But boy, after working on a Mac, I love my PC even more.
I agree if you are doing video and editing - Mac is probably the best way to go...but for what I do...mostly office stuff/internet browsing/email, etc.... I think a PC is more user friendly for me....
Anyway, if anyone knows any tips for my Mac problems....that would be super helpful. :D

iMac baby with a big 'ol screen too. Only upgraded about a month ago from a tiny little laptop pc. Really happy here!
:D

Whoever said the font size thing cannot be changed is misinformed or lying. I don't have one of the newer MacBooks in front of me right now (but I can check on this tomorrow morning for sure), so what you actually have to do might differ slightly from what I'm telling you.

Open up system preferences (little silver gear thingy in the dock, or from the Apple menu > System preferences.

Select trackpad

In the trackpad preferences there will be button or checkbox or something that mentions "gestures." Your princess is in that castle.

As for the wireless thing, I can't help without having the machine in front of me. I've never experienced that before.

i have a pc but 'em tempted to buy a mac, question for mac owners. is mac better to do graphic designs (using photoshop) on?

As far as graphic design (print and web), it really doesn't matter whether you are using OSX or Windows. You're going to be using programs from the Adobe Creative Suite, and those programs are available on both platforms.

A lot of people say macs are good for graphic design, but they never cite any reasons. The only reason I can think of would be that the OS never gets in the way of your work on a mac. I've found Windows to be a huge nuisance, but OSX is intuitive and gets out of the way, for the most part.

Years ago we could've had a discussion of PowerPC vs. Intel processors, but now that Apple is using Intel processors, that point is moot.

I have a Mac Book Pro and I never use the damn track pad. Get a mouse.

*hugs his Mac because it's better than your PC*

Meh, I never gave a crap about the IBM PowerPC processors vs. Intel and AMD argument. I find it funny as Macs switch over to Intel, Microsoft builds the 360 around the PowerMac's architecture.

I just like the design of the Macs. How the hardware runs seamlessly with the OS, and the OS never gets in the way of my work as you had pointed out.

I also like the fact these things are like German tanks. They don't break down easily. Never once had to take a Mac in to get fixed.
