I have one friend at work that is huge into the hasbro sw figures. He gets three of each. I used to be the same way until I ran out of room so I sold all my hasbro stuff and well this is why im here today :emperor

No, I'm on my lonesome, I send the freinds who are interested links to my reviews, and some are really into my collection and might have one or two items for their desks, but none of them are actually what I'd call collectors.

Only the friends I have met here. None of my other friends really "get it". I have one friend who really like Star Wars and he has a couple of Hasbro pieces, but nothing like me. He thinks it's all cool though.

Same here. I get the strangest looks when people see my collection. They give me "the look" when they see my 1/6 figures. I can see the words forming in their head "Damn this dude collects DOLLS!"

But when they see my PF's and especially my 1:1 busts(Darkness and Predator) they are much more impressed.

My friends have been my friends for long enough that its the norm, they expect to come to my house and see something new every time, and are pretty cool about it. They stare and feign interestlol) so its all good.

Yeah, the PF's and higher end stuff always gets the bigger reaction....along the lines of "They actually make stuff like that???"......you know as opposed to just "little plastic toys" like the Hasbro 3 inch figures

I kinda feel sorry for the people who 'pretend' to be interested, most of them have nothing to feel passionate about, they just live dull lives. Collecting is my refuge, something that not only makes me happy, but gives me a sense of pride and calm. Not sure if that makes much sense to you guys but that's the way I feel.

I'm also happy that my family accepts me being a collector, now they just laugh when UPS or Fed Ex shows up and say, 'Another box?'

Exactly the same in my case.
My friends think I must be crazy to collect plastic dolls.

When they see PF's and 1:1 busts they think it's nice, but they are certainly not overwhelmed by it, they don't even feign interest, they just say it's a nice statue, but they think I must be very stupid to spend money on such a thing ...

i have one friend that collects, he mostly collects 3 3/4 figs, etc. i bought him a Obi 12" last Christmas for his first SS piece and he has since bought a few others. i have noone else besides him. i do remember i had to cut a birthday lunch short, it was a restaurant across the street from where i work, and i just flat out told them(co-workers) i had to preorder Anakin(Vader version)....they didn't seem to understand but fk em. luckily for me the servers fried that day because i was late on the preorder.
