Do you like the LS Wiki Bust?

Easy pass for me. I agree with the majority that the head looks weird and the base is a little strange like he's a genie just poppin out of a lamp or something!!Think the Weta version was spot on..the bust,not the statue although even that was better than this.Me thinks Sideshow needs to take a long hard look at their LOTR products...I for one am getting quite frustrated and losing interest fast mainly due to the non appearance of any new PF figures(except for the horrible GTW) and the seemingly fast production of items like this.

I still haven't seen any images that show the wrinkles in his face. The link Kevin posted show the wrinkles in his neck, but not the face.

Also, that image shows that his head appears too narrow around the crown. It looks ok from the side but head on it looks way too narrow and I'm pretty sure it's the hair that gives that illusion.

What's with the cartoony LotR stuff? The PF Gandalf has a goofy face and some wacked-out pose and this witchking looks like some weird caricature.

Well i only got that pic of the Nazgul in the left side maybe as shown in the other pictures from the FOTR design galleries an as you can notice there are big difference in the shape of the faces one is rounded an the other is large, but well i think theres no way to know which is the one that looks better, but i like the weta version MORE.

Well, they way I look at it is that if you can say that the one shot you posted "clearly" shows that the SSW likeness is best, and that no one should rely on any other images (such as game cards), then I can also say that it "certainly" doesn't look that way.

So, to sum up, if you don't like it, you don't have to buy it. But to me (and several others), the resemblance is quite good. Just as good, in its own way, as the SSW pieces.

Just to "clear" things up, I never said that the screenshot "clearly" showed the likeness to be better, I said "As far as I know the image from the movie that clearly shows the WK..." ie I thought that was the clearest shot of the WK in the movie - I don't recall seeing the image from the game card in the movie at all - if anyone can point me to where the image on "card 8" posted by Woodsy appears in the movie I'd be most grateful.

Oh, and I think we do agree - you like it - good for you. I hate it - good for me (as I never intended buying it in the first place!)

I love LOTR and the Witch-king anything is pretty much Bad A$$. But this bust is very disappointing to me. If you don't know what you are looking at or for its fine. I just sold my Wiki statue for $1300. :chew And I was quite looking forward to the unveiling of the $180 bust, but it looks like Nick Nolte trick o' treating as the WiKi . I was dumbfounded....... hit by several lighting bolts! :emperor ( don't ask me where they came from)and was like WTF IS THIS ! Dookie? Yeh buddy! So... thats a nada for me!

Here's a comparison using a screen cap from the Design Galleries from the FOTR Extended Edition. Without all the digital effects you can see that they're both pretty close, but I'll let you guys fight it out.

WETA's looks more like A KING! It has an air that exudes ghostly royalty.

And I find it most attractive.

More attractive than Prunface!

The SS version would look much better with that crown and with the color change of the skin. No doubt about it!

Thanks! My point in making these changes has really been to show just how close the new bust is to the film version, yet how much these small problems affect peoples' perception of it.

Of course, I realize that making a crown that is an exact replica of the film version would be next to impossible. It would be far too fragile. I do however think it could be made a bit closer to that version than what we got. And the other changes I made are really trivial. But I would bet that if the bust had looked more like my modified version, it would have sold out in hours, even with the 'tapered waist' issue and the lack of an more ornate base.

It's abundantly clear there is not a shred of credible evidence to back this up, and more than enough evidence showing it is not, but that doesn't seem to matter in the slightest. People have chosen to believe what they want to believe, and no amount of concrete evidence is going to change that.
