Do you think obese people should be using the motorized carts at Wal-mart target etc?

If they are ABLE to walk? Not disabled? That's what they are there for, the disabled!(not cause you're too lazy to walk) I'm sure there are some obese folks that can't actually walk on their own, but the more and more i look around i see them perfectly fine and could walk on their own (which is what they need)

I dunno kinda bugs me. I just see this way too often,( i see folks get up and walk to get things off a shelf that can't be reached sitting down) and there almost seems to be a shortage of carts around for folks that actually need them. (disabled/elderly etc)

There's no point being bothered by it as there's no way of knowing whether they are actually capable of walking or whether they are carrying an injury of some kind. Getting up to reach for an item doesn't necessarily mean they can make it around a shop.

In principle though, those who are capable of walking should be walking. I worked with an obese lady a few years back. We work on the first floor, up a single flight of stairs from the building's entrance. Not once in three years did she take the stairs. Always the lift. I felt like saying to her, "Forget the Diet Coke. Take the damned stairs".

I agree for the most part. But, after a while you can be pretty damn sure there's a lot of just lazy folks out there. (also pisses me off when i see teens joy riding on them, but thats another subject)

I have more of a problem with handicapped signs on big SUVs or those jacked up trucks that they have ladders on. I see those quite a bit here. If you can climb a ladder to get in and out of a vehicle, you can walk a few more steps to the store.

I hate to jump to conclusions about people who could have legitimate health issues but. . .I know most of the folks I've seen in Wal-Mart using these things are just fat, lazy ****s. There are many of them in this state.

I think obese people should use catapults to Wal-Mart and Target.

Target is awesome. It smells nice.
Target has a very transparent business model--sell things for slightly more money than they cost at Wal-Mart, and attract a slightly different kind of customer who don't want to interact with the Wal-Mart riff-raff. I go to Target way more than Wal-Mart. Of course, lots of folks around here only shop at Whole Foods or whatever, but my snobbery has limits :lol

Actually, they don't have to be fat either. I've seen thin people use them too when they don't look like they need them. I would think they'd be one big pain in the butt. My mother has a hard time walking too much and she won't use one. She won't even use a walker or a cane!

Obesity can be disabling. Don't see a problem with it. Often times their condition is beyond their control.

they had control..

they ate like pigs, ate junkfood, drank up the soda's,the twinkies, scarfed down foods that have high fructose corn syrup (which is known to cause heart disease, obesity and diabetes)

its a condition they caused for themselves- period!

Diet Coke wouldn't of helped...Diet Coke is actually 10 times worse than regular soda because its a can of poison (Aspartame) along with that its addictive and actually puts on the weight...0 calories doesn't mean ****

teemu, I'm not going to argue with you, but that's BS about all people eating themselves that way.

maybe....but its FACT- you ARE what you eat!

Diet is the main reason for obesity, sickness, and the body being able or not to be able heal itself...you put crap in it,your body starves and gets disease...feed it the proper nutrients, your body thrives, functions and doesn't get disease

Never? Don't bank on it.
