Do you think obese people should be using the motorized carts at Wal-mart target etc?

I hope your talking about people that weigh 300+ because their are PLENTY of diseases out their that can cause weight gain and their is not one thing you can do about it. Yes you can work out watch what your eating, but it still doesn't help as much as you would think. Such as Thyroid disease. I know two people one that I live with who have it and they do everything in mankind to watch what they eat as well as work out, but it still does not help yeah they might not be as big as some of the people you all are talking about ,but their is weight gain and nothing they can do about it. It's also not as easy to just go to the doctor get the medicine and your fixed. It can take a very long time to get the exact dose you need to help you. So no this does happen to people who don't scarf down food as you say.

have they tried a RAW diet of vegetables and fruit? I bet they havn't

People hate hearing this because their stubborn, but your body will heal itself through proper nutrition...

Are you really telling me your body can heal itself with no medicine at all? I hope I'm reading that wrong

medicine is suppose to be used as a "temporary" solution..not to be used and then be on drugs and pills for the rest of your life....if you believe that (pharma) medicine is the cure, you have been lied to...

Drugs only cover the symptom, they do not cure anything! when someone recovers from sickness or disease, its because the body healed itself, but for the body to heal,it must have the nutrients to do so..why is this so difficult to understand???????????? its common sense!

FACT- in the past 25 years, pharmaceutical drugs has killed over 300,000 people..

Vitamins- ZERO!!!

trying watching films like Food Matters and the one I posted above! its free, take the time out and educate yourself on honest truth

That's not how I took it.

A few years back I dropped 35 pounds and got to my optimal weight to control my cholesterol. Welcome to middle age. A million times people asked "Wow, how'd ya do it?!?" Like it's a mystery. I stopped eating like a teenager and worked out couple times a week. Mostly discipline in my eating. My cholesterol dropped.

Help me, help me! I need a pill to fix it! No you don't. The people who pack on weight due to factors outside their control are the rare exception. Most of the fatties you see everyday simply lack to self control to eat a smaller portion, to not drink a soda you can swim in, to eat chocolate as if it's a treat instead of a daily snacktime.

As a society we've grown lazy and want other people to fix crap we should take charge of in our lives.

Add this to your personal goals in life: When I move backwards I'll never go "beep beep beep beep"

:lecture:clap:clap

and watch the FAT guy in the "fat, sick and nearly Dead" Documentary I posted above,CURING his disease and losing tons of weight by eating RAW Green juice...it was an amazing transformation to watch...

This is REAL TRUTH....NOT the lies you get from the modern day Pharma witch doctors

Well considering I live with this person and see how they eat and work out I know it's not because they are lazy unhealthy fat slob. They aren't overweight by no means but having a thyroid disease plays a role in some weight gain.

I'm sorry if it's at fault for your loved one, but I'm not going to believe every cow at Walmart has a Thyroid disorder.

I was at wally world the other day and a BIG woman asked me several times to help her get stuff off the top shelf, which i did!
and when we were leaving she was walking just fine to her car. she left the cart inside the store crawled up into a SUV and took off I thought damn !

One other time i saw a cart battery die and the Big guy just got up and walked off and came back with another off loaded his chips and cookies and this was at the back of the store so he had to of walked to the front to get the other one .

what pissed me off the other day was a young lady was on crutches with a knee brace on having to walk around the store pushing a buggy because all the whales were shopping that day

I live in the middle of nowhere so wal-mart is the only big chain store around I shiver everytime the wife says we need to go to town

and what about the folks that block the isles with their gossip flappers going LOL i always talk loud to my wife and say IF SOME PEOPLE DIDN'T BLOCK THE ISLE WE MIGHT GET HOME TODAY !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!haha the look on their face is priceless

Teemu's a bit narrow-sighted on this. There are many physical issues people are born with or acquire that can't be treated without medicine. I've yet to discover any kind of herbal remedy (and not for lack of research) for asthma symptoms and attacks. :lol

RAW Honey from the local farmer...;)

Nope. There are times in life to take medicine. Asthma is one of them.

There is a difference between treating a chronic illness and eschewing personal responsibility. My criticism is aimed at people who deep down know eating a box of doughnuts everyday is unhealthy.

I don't believe it either. Never did I say that every person at Walmart that are fat is caused by a disease, because I know most of them are lazy fat slobs who don't care about keeping them selves healthy. It's a shame to see people like this I mean how hard is it to have self control?

it is sad to say But when i got hurt in the Military I fractured My femoral Neck compression side.

i was down for two years (on crutches then cane ) I have bad arthritis in my hip and lower back and have to take pain killers on a regular basis Nothing else helps my pain.

But I have stayed at 153 pounds since I got out of the Military with watching what I eat and exercising the best i can with my injury .my dad is over weight and his health is terrible from it High blood pressure Etc .It is also very sad to see the Kids are getting so fat at a young age

Old wive's tale. :wink1: Tried it and just about everything else. I even wholly prefer Chiropractic to Medicine too, but there are instances where holistic medicine is malarkey. Asthma is one of those instances.

RAW HONEY is best for allergies in general...(which is not a wives tale)

I do RAW honey and bee pollen and have no issues with seasonal allergies

Avoid Cigarette Smoke- Exposure to cigarettes may hinder your breathing
and cause mucus to build up in the lungs.

Know Asthma Attack Inducers- Some foods have been known to trigger
asthma attacks. Try to identify what foods may be triggering yours. Seafood,
milk, and eggs are a common few.

Also, sulfite containing foods (a food preservative) and artificial coloring
products have been linked to triggering asthma attacks.

The Coffee Cure- Caffeine can diminish asthma attacks by widening the
blood vessels in your lungs.

Avoid Alcohol to Avoid Asthma- Some of the substances in alcohol drinks
may make people that are sensitive to sulfite become short on breath
almost immediately.

The Cold Bath Cure- A cold bath or shower has been shown in studies to
ease asthma symptoms. Just a 1 minute bath or shower can have great
benefits to ones breathing and can diminish frequency of asthma attacks.

I'm torn on the weight issue. I lost about 75 lbs. a few years back, which was primarily diet - my body doesn't handle carbs too well, which of course are all of my favorite foods. But I cut out most of the carbs, ate more meats and veggies, learned portion control, and there you go.

My girlfriend lost about 100 lbs herself a few years back, through both portion control and exercise. Now in my case, I laid on the pounds through sheer neglect of my health, and I don't dispute that. I imagine many folks who are overweight are the same way. Learn to eat correctly, do a little exercise, and everything's cool. I still struggle with the exercise myself. It's so utterly BORING and repetitive. But I digress.

My girlfriend struggles every. Single. Day. She eats like a bird most days, and spends 3 hours every day on the elliptical. No joke. The doctors claim there's nothing medically wrong; no thyroid issues, etc. She just has an extremely slow metabolism, and puts on water weight easily. She took a day off of her strict diet for Thanksgiving, and ate with everyone else, turkey, pie, the works. Not to excess, mind you, just ate the way everyone else did. And she put on 5 lbs. IN ONE DAY.

Now, maybe that's an extreme case, and I get that. But while I do get annoyed when I see heavy people huffing around just like others, I also think of her and her struggles. And the fact that the majority of people I know who bad mouth heavier folks are fortunate enough to never have struggled with weight. I envy you; But before you go making fun or passing judgement, think of how hard they might have it.

I'm not going to pretend to be a doctor but has she been tested for thyroid or metabolic syndrom? Most people can misbehave a bit here and there with the diet without real effects on their weight.
