I hope your talking about people that weigh 300+ because their are PLENTY of diseases out their that can cause weight gain and their is not one thing you can do about it. Yes you can work out watch what your eating, but it still doesn't help as much as you would think. Such as Thyroid disease. I know two people one that I live with who have it and they do everything in mankind to watch what they eat as well as work out, but it still does not help yeah they might not be as big as some of the people you all are talking about ,but their is weight gain and nothing they can do about it. It's also not as easy to just go to the doctor get the medicine and your fixed. It can take a very long time to get the exact dose you need to help you. So no this does happen to people who don't scarf down food as you say.

That's not how I took it.
A few years back I dropped 35 pounds and got to my optimal weight to control my cholesterol. Welcome to middle age. A million times people asked "Wow, how'd ya do it?!?" Like it's a mystery. I stopped eating like a teenager and worked out couple times a week. Mostly discipline in my eating. My cholesterol dropped.
Help me, help me! I need a pill to fix it! No you don't. The people who pack on weight due to factors outside their control are the rare exception. Most of the fatties you see everyday simply lack to self control to eat a smaller portion, to not drink a soda you can swim in, to eat chocolate as if it's a treat instead of a daily snacktime.
As a society we've grown lazy and want other people to fix crap we should take charge of in our lives.
Add this to your personal goals in life: When I move backwards I'll never go "beep beep beep beep"

Teemu's a bit narrow-sighted on this. There are many physical issues people are born with or acquire that can't be treated without medicine. I've yet to discover any kind of herbal remedy (and not for lack of research) for asthma symptoms and attacks.
RAW Honey from the local farmer...
Old wive's tale. Tried it and just about everything else. I even wholly prefer Chiropractic to Medicine too, but there are instances where holistic medicine is malarkey. Asthma is one of those instances.
