It seems every day I am reminded that some people only ever see the 'facts' that they want to see, and will never see the 'facts' that they don't. Such is life, I suppose.

It is interesting, to me at least, that no one ever seems to suggest that they shouldn't make a William Hartnell Doctor, or proclaims that doing so is doomed to failure, despite his always placing amongst the least widespread popular Doctors in recent years as well. Just an observation.

Regardless, moving onwards, I'll buy each and every Doctor, happily. And I suspect, or at least hope, that many other fans will do likewise. At least enough to ensure that the line continues onward and remains successful within its particular niche. Roll on that William Hartnell pre-order, I say. :)

But Hartnell's just had a massive boost in visibility thanks to the Anniversary and the drama documentary; and will probably continue to do so thanks to the recovery of Missing Episodes. And don't forget, Character Options have sold four different versions of him in six different packages so someone's prepared to buy him - not to mention he's one of only three Doctors Bif Bang Pow have released, the others being 4 and 11.

Um, that's kind of been my whole point... :lol

If these popularity polls or so-called popular consensus equated into actual sales value, then that wouldn't be the case, and none of these 'bottom polling Doctors' would see much made featuring them. But surely the fact that plenty of merchandising arms, be it Character Options or Bif Bang Pow or Big Finish, see plenty of retail value in releasing product based around these allegedly unpopular Doctors, be it Hartnell or Colin Baker or McCoy or McGann, that surely points to that there is a market for all of The Doctors out there, and that just because some are more popular than others, that doesn't mean that there isn't still enough of a market out there for the less popular incarnations too. :)

I've steered clear of BC so far because I'm not to keen on the scale of the head and hands, but I have to admit if they made a War Doctor I'd be pre-ordering on day one. I loved him far more than I thought I would!

Speaking of facts (those deplorable things) I don't believe I, or anyone else, was suggesting that 6 or 7 or any Doctors should not be made.

There is plenty of reason to assume they would not sell as well as Tom Baker or David Tennant, and so they would have to look into other ways to drum up sales for them - perhaps even including US distributors, but no one is saying they should not make them ever at all.

Yes, I guess we could put a disclaimer on these polls: These are just for fun. Do not take too seriously. :) And remember, this was only about which ones we want to see NEXT in the next couple years. Not which ones we want to see at all. :D

Funny, I think the scale on the heads are the same as HT and the hands are actually better scaled than the oven mitts on the HT figures.

I concur with the hands. It's because they are slightly smaller, that they look small, but in fact are more in scale than HT hands are.
I see no issue with head scale. The DT figure is a skinny dude and looks correct to me.
As such, I'm in for any Doctor they produce. Looks like the First Doctor will be first for 2014. Should be a great figure.

It might be the angle of the photos I've seen, then - I've not seen any BC collectibles in person. Sometimes it'd hard to judge a figure from a flat angle.

Plus I'm still convincing myself I don't need a BC Sherlock and Watson. :gah:

I need no convincing. I'm just not interested in the show, actors of figures.
Doctor Who .... Complete opposite. Haha!!
For what it's worth I thought those hands looked dreadful in all photos I had seen prior to getting the product. They are pretty cool.

Also let's face it that the majority of people who vote in these polls are not diehard fans for the most part and they're certainly not the kind of people who buy $200 figures. :lol

So if we're talking consensus, then McGann seems to live in the same least popular bracket as Colin Baker, William Hartnell, and Sylvester McCoy regularly inhabit

I think the big difference between McGann/Hartnell and McCoy and Baker is that the 50th really brought out a new appreciation for McGann and the look in the 50th prequel gives him an edge in terms of figure possibility AND I don't think there are many Whovians who are buying these that wouldn't get the First Doctor. I'm not a huge fan of the classic series and only have dabbled into the first three Doctors and want Hartnell. To me he is just a must have.

I don't think that McCoy or Baker will have that kind of push, I think they'll be made but I think they'll cost more (or force a price increase due to lower sales) and they'll be towards the end of the line.

Well, thanks for the stats. As I've mentioned I've probably seen only single episodes of McCoy and C. Baker but I'll still buy them if BCS makes them. I think a lot of die-hard NuWhoers would probably do the same.

I would buy them IF I had the rest of the Doctors. It'll really depend on that. I'm not opposed to them being made though.

I thought they were supposed to open it back up to retailers after the anniversary year.

I thought that was the original thought as well, that they'd open it back up for Non-50th items?

A War Doctor signed by John Hurt is at the top of my list, I hope he gets made before any of the other Doctors just because I want to insure a Hurt Signature plaque.

Funny, I think the scale on the heads are the same as HT and the hands are actually better scaled than the oven mitts on the HT figures.

The heads are good but the hands are really impressive if that makes sense, in messing with the 10th I was surprised at how life like they looked. I think the heads are coming along but I worry that the newer Doctors will look better than the older and I don't need the HT syndrome of wanting to replace at these prices.

I'm going to expose my extreme geek here...

Since I discovered the McGann audio adventures McGann is my second all time favorite Doctor behind Tom Baker. There is a magic to the man that really appeals and it was a magic that came through in that 7 minute special and left everyone who watched it wanting more.

The head and hands are fine scalewise. Actually, the hands are brilliant. The one with the Tardis key was a real surprise and the 'open hands' are great for those 'pretending to be amazed by something behind the camera) Doctor poses.

I was just about to post this when I saw I'd typed 'the nads are brilliant' above. Um, that's a level of detail we haven't seen yet, thank God.

I don't see any scale issues with the BC Dr Who figures.

I'd love to get the Sherlock figures too. I'm just priced out.

I have yet to delve into the audios although I've been really tempted. I don't think I've spoken to a Whovian who hasn't liked them that has listened to them.

Has a second 11 been confirmed? Trying to decide about getting the existing version.

Originally they said that there'd be an 11 based on the 50th but nothing was really said or heard since those initial grumblings. I would bet though that another 11 and another 10 are pretty much a lock.

Yep, they'd be leaving money on the table to not do Smith in his Moffet-era outfit. I'd like a portrait with a different expression, but it's not necessary. And I'm sure that 80% of delays and problems on figures are getting portrait approval (98% for female characters).

I don't know that I'd buy another Tennant unless he had a new expression though. His outfit didn't change. Of course the BCS figure was underproduced, so I'm sure he'd sell well, even if it was a different tie and other accessories.

I just hope they get through their backslog of customer inquiries soon and can get the Hartnell pre-order up. It'd also be nice to know which of their projects are a go and which are dead, if they would share.

If BCS wanted to go the Sideshow route and make the revisiting of figures different completely they could always do "Ten-Two" (The Metacrisis Doctor) and give a new HS there and then offer an accessory pack of the different colored suit or even the cowboy hat and Hawaiian lei included for those who wanted just a Tennant Doc.

A Series 7 Smith is a lock, the accessories themselves: Amy's glasses, the helmet and goggles from the flying cycle, Barbie doll, deerstalker, Handles, The Dalek Stalk, The red setting Sonic, and that's just from the top of my head.

Agreed. I don't want to sit here hoping for stuff that'll never get made and I'd also like to plan my finances, Doctor Who is priority for me and knowing how many figures I want from BC this year would help deciding what other stuff I can or can't buy.
