If they are making one, hopefully she has nothing to do with it. No more Rose!

Or Tennant either and not just because of my natural hatred of the 10th Doctor and everything his era represented.

I think if he were to return for a movie it would be a tremendous two fingers raised to Matt Smith or whoever follows him as it'd basically be saying "Yeah, you're OK for the TV series but wouldn't cut it on the big screen".

Any ground that Smith/his replacement may make towards establishing themselves in the role would be totally undermined by the inevitable hysteria the media ( mainly in the UK ) would create around 10 returning and that shouldn't happen.

LOL at the Billie Piper remarks, when I see her I always think of the Rodney Dangerfield line in "Caddyshack" where he says "the last time I saw a mouth like that it had a hook in it!" :lol

Still looks better than Tate though.

I wouldn't mind seeing them bring back 9 in a movie, or even in the series as a special Two Doctors kind of thing with 11. He was a great Doctor who had far too short of a run.

A Time War movie starring Paul McGann and Christopher Eccleston or a 3 Doctors story with the two of them alongside Matt Smith would be perfect ways to give both another chance to shine instead of giving the already overexposed Tennant yet another chance to stink up the screen.

Sadly though it's doubtful that Eccleston would return as if one rumor is to be believed he was royally screwed over by the BBC, never even being offered a second series and only finding out he was being replaced when he read of Tennant's appointment in a newspaper.

That could of course be BS but given his reluctance to talk about the show in any great detail since his departure it's clear something went down and it wasn't good.

Whatever did happen it's a shame because I think he showed more depth to his portrayal of the Doctor in 13 episodes than Tennant managed in 3 series and a few specials and with some half decent scripts and a proper producer he could maybe even have toppled Tom as the best Doctor ever.

Speaking of McGann, have they retconned out that nonsense about the Doctor being half human? I haven't heard it mentioned again since then (thank goodness) and the new series doesn't seem to portray him as such.

I would love a Time War movie starring McGann but....

It. Won't. Happen. Period.

:(

True it's definitely one of those "if only" scenarios.

If a Movie does happen it'll inevitably be a RTD written 10th Doctor, Rose Tyler & Friends reunion special and I will simply refuse to acknowledge it.

Going back several Doctors I watched "Timelash" yesterday which I rented from Lovefilm. Having now seen 2 of Colin's stories I can see both sides of the argument as to why his era sucked/wasn't that bad.

The stories are decidedly average with a tendency to spend too much time referencing past eras and whilst I don't mind an occasional story with a high body count that's twice that it's happened and I'm wondering whether this was as much a theme of Colin's era as bad writing and ugly companions ( Martha being the exception ) became during the Tennant era.

Paul Darrow was the main reason I rented "Timelash" as he was awesome as Avon in "Blakes 7" and he didn't disappoint in his role as Tekker, I think he'd make a far more intimidating Master than John Simm even now especially if he grew a suitably "evil" looking goatee.

As for Colin I kinda like his Doctor, especially his impatience and indifference towards humanity which is reminiscent of Hartnell's first few stories and I think that considering all the crap that was going on behind the scenes during his brief run he probably did as well as could have been expected.

One thing about "Timelash" that made me laugh was the unexpected cameo from Jon Pertwee or to be more precise a painting of him :lol

I checked out Twin Dilemma the other day, and I love how bat____ crazy he was in that one. :lol I don't know why people have such a problem with the 6th Doctor, I find him thoroughly entertaining right down to his suitably obnoxious costume.

A...if one rumor is to be believed he was royally screwed over by the BBC, never even being offered a second series and only finding out he was being replaced when he read of Tennant's appointment in a newspaper.

I don't think this is true based on something I saw in the bonus features of series 1. There is a "breakfast with" (sorry I don't remember the exact name) Christopher Eccleston where he is asked about a second series and CE, instead of answering the question, goes on about how he's done 13 stories which is more than some long-time Doctors, yadda yadda yadda.

I think CE was just using Who as a spring board to get lucrative roles such as Destro in GI Joe. :lol

I believe the way it really went was CE was having some personal issues and was constantly going back and forth between doing Series 2 and not. Eventually they called his bluff and cast DT as the next Doctor. Some harsh feelings were had but CE finished his run as a professional would. That's why though, with the change at Upper Boat, his return is more likely now than it was before.

Best case scenario would be if the new regime tried something different and did a whole series with 2 Doctors ( 9 & 11 ) , they could have a couple of seperate episodes apiece and team up the rest of the time.

It'd have to be left until 11 has established himself properly and it'd not exactly be the easiest thing to pull off as with 2 Doctors whoever the bad guys were would have to be written as the biggest threat EVER which is not easy given the hatchet job RTD & co did on most of the shows major villains.

Doh Yeah... But didn't you see the series 5 Trailer (The BBC is calling it "series 5, by the way :)). What you are talking about was shown there weeks ago.

Pretty awesome setting for a darker story. :rock

Just reminds me of Spinal Tap :D

I'm entirely unintrested in watching any of the stories with River Song as the clips I saw of her previous appearance seemed to indicate she's a character who was soley created as a potential love intrest for the Doctor and there's been enough romantic BS in the revival already so I hope she gets killed off ASAP.

Episode 3 is also a pass as I have more intrest in drilling a hole in my head than watching f'ing Daleks. RTD hammered home the final nails into their coffin and I think they should be relegated to the history books.
