Where's all this speculation about the Doctor's mother coming from? I don't remember anything in those last 2 episodes that had anything to do with the Doctor's parentage. Did I miss something?

There was an article when Claire Bloom was first cast (as The Woman in White) reporting that her character was the Doc's mom. I posted links to the articles on the last page.

just finished watching...man that ending was painstakingly slow and I felt the Rose closure left a lot to be desired. decent episode but not in my top 10 of Tennant episodes. kinda hoped the send off would be one of my faves with him, just didn't quite deliver for me on an entertainment level.

Yep, I too remember reading an interview in the paper in which she stated she was playing the Doc's mother!

Such overanalysing about every little detail seems very pointless as most of that type of stuff never gets explained officially. It's like the Kessel Run in ANH, it sounds like it might be something intresting but has no bearing on the overall story so why obsess over it?

Besides which the only mystery for me about the RTD era was why the hell people liked it so much. Roll on series 1 and the beginning of the real revival.

I finally decided to watch a Colin Baker era story last night and chose "Attack of the Cybermen".

And I thought it was............OK-ish, though the number of continuity references made the story seem like bad fan fiction.

Colin's Doctor seems to have a bit more life to his character than Davison though I can see why some would dislike him but if "Attack" was a decent indication of his character throughout his run I'd still take any of his stories to a desert island with me over anything Tennant did.

After watching "The Peladon Tales" DVD box set I'll probably try "The Two Doctors" and maybe one of Sylvester's stories after that.

I just acquired some Colin Baker stories done on Big Finish I actually am quite enjoying them.

Colin Baker could have been a good Doctor but there were so many bad decisions being made with the program at the time (not to mention the BBC1 controller, Michael Grade, was sleeping with Colins wife at the time). He was doomed to fail.

He was the Conan O'Brian of Doctors. :lol

So he wasn't the only one to get screwed by the BBC :lol

One thing I liked about him was his arrogance, the way he walked into a situation and just took control regardless.

It was done in more of an over the top manner than when Tom did it but there was a definite similarity.
