It's the general "if you aren't with us, you're against us" attitude amongst those people that annoys me as much as anything else. Unless you like absolutely everything about the new series and think Tennant is the greatest thing EVER you get looked down on, outright insulted and generally treated like crap especially if you prefer the Classic series.

This kind of thing is more than evident with the way some people in this thread respond to my comments but it's much worse on the so called "fansites".

Dude, I don't know if you're overcompensating for every other website you visit, but you're the one that constantly propalgates "us vs them" mentality by constantly criticizing the new show. You'd rather continue spewing on about how you hate Tennant than say anything positive about your favorites.

Its like you're trying to prove Led Zepplin is better by cutting on Pink Floyd or vice versa. Why don't you just focus on talking about the positive stuff of old Who rather than pissing on nu-Who.

Like the last producer of the series I could probably use a few lessons in the art of subtlety but even so I don't think there's any call for the kind of personal insults and snide remarks that I've had in the past.

I get that vibe a lot in this thread, and not just from one particular user either. Thankfully, SSF is the only message board I read regularly, so I'm blissfully ignorant of all this.

Agreed. It's lame no matter who it comes from. :duff

me too. this is the only place I've ever had a discussion about Doctor Who with anyone except my wife so I don't know anything about prevailing opinions or conspiracies or bandwagons or anything like that.

Indeed, and in fairness people here have generally been more tolerant and as long as things are kept amiable and don't sink to the point where I'm getting abusive PM's just for not enjoying RTD's vision of the show I'm cool with a bit of good natured flak, it's just sometimes I don't always recognise it as being that way :D

I'm too afraid to discuss Who on the actual fansites. I prefer to do it where it's just a few folks shooting the bull.

Yeah, the fansites can be a nightmare even for people who're more diplomatic with how they post and it's not exactly conducive to attracting new people to the franchise.

HI guys and gals, this series kindda got my attention and planning to get them. But when I check it at at a local Bestbuy, there is too many of them (sets) like the Specials and Everything.

My question is if I just get the 1St to Fourth series will that cover evrything of the series or do i need to get the individual specials.

Thanks,
Richard

there is a pack with the specials (either out or coming out) that I keep seeing at work. As far as I am aware, series 4 does NOT include any of the specials.

Just get the first series and you'll have everything worth watching from the modern version of the show.

Honestly, I think all four seasons + specials are WAY overpriced. They are on streaming Netflix, so I would watch them on there for the first time. Then if you really want them, pick them up.

i honestly haven't seen much replay value in any of the series, old or new. I think Who is solidly in the "rent not buy" catagory.

It's series 1 through 4 and then the Specials Box Set which is out that contains everything from The Next Doctor to The End of Time. Personally I buy them because they are great to watch if nothing else is really on and it helps me convert others :lol

Series 1 (9th Doc and Rose)
Series 2 (10th Doc and Rose)
Series 3 (10th Doc and Martha)
Series 4 (!0th Doc and Donna)
Specials Box set.

None of which I own and I need to repent of that. :lol

I own the first 2 series but neither have been touched in well over a year :lol

You may include them, in that case, when you send my Rassilon and 11 figs. :lol

Assuming of course that Play ever get them :D
I did look at TRU the other day when I got a couple more "Earthshock" Cybermen but there were no "End of Time" figures on the shelves.

From what I hear there won't be until later this week. I don't know what has been taking so long to get these ones out. :dunno
