Im kind of annoyed of this "everyone is secretly racist and quick to murder" theme that was in this week's episode. Most people don't care enough to hate people that are different from them, and the group in this episode was way too small to have the "mob mentality" mindset where this kind of thing could actually happen.

Hmm.. I didn't really take it that way. To me it was more of an identity crisis thing in that they felt that their identities had been severely encroached. I'm sure that on some level, they all thought they were the originals.
It wouldn't surprise me to learn in the second part that the "originals" were in fact copies ("Moon" style).

I thought this one was a bit of a dud as well, 3 in a row for me. I hate to say it, but I'm starting to feel my interest waning a bit. Aside from occasional gems like Vincent and the Doctor and The Impossible Astronaut/Day of the Moon 2-parter, I'm just not enjoying the show the way I did during the Eccleston/Tennant run. Hopefully the big upcoming mid-season cliffhanger story pulls me back in.

:lol :lol :lol :lol

I've just discovered there's a Doctor Who convention near this coming September.

So far the confirmed guests are,

Frazer Hines :yess:
Nicola Bryant :yess:
Some bloke that designs sets for Nu-Who :pfft:

Now that iTunes finally got the new episode up, I was able to watch the new episode.

What a POS episode. :monkey2 I'd probably put it slightly above "Love and Monsters".

What a shame that we only have two episodes left until the hiatus, and one of them will be a continuation of this snooze-fest. :monkey2 :monkey2 :monkey2

One observation about the comments in this section: Every episode is either one of the worst episodes ever or it is the most wonderful piece of Who ever made. :lol

:lecture It's a wonderfully diverse show!

Personally, I think this is the second episode of nu-Who I've actually disliked.

Doctor Who = serious business :lol

With 2 episodes until the break I'm reasonably satisfied. 1 absolute gem in amongst all the "Meh" is about as good as can be expected these days.

Last night's finale of the two parter, The Almost People, was superb and the ending...DAMN!!! Did not see any of that coming, in fact everything about that story destroyed all the theories I had. When you think you got it figured out, they pulled the rug from under your feet. Then the prequel for episode 7 and then the teaser trailer after that. The surprises and the twists in The Almost People were fantastic but what is apparently in store for us next week may put all that to shame. Something BIG is coming. All bets are off now on how this is going to end. Moffat and Co. have squarely painted themselves in a corner with the Doctor dying in The Impossible Astronaut. SPOILERS...

And that was indeed THE DOCTOR, not a ganger.

And HOLY ____! We are indeed in store for a great month and a half of science fiction, fantasy, and comic book television and film. Doctor Who's mid season finale next week comes one day after the debut of the new X-Men film and Game of Thrones wraps up its season this coming month too. Plus we got Super 8, Green Lantern, Transformers, Cowboys and Aliens, and Captain America all approaching as well. It is so damn good to be a geek right now.

I actually really disliked the episode bar the last 10 minutes, I just didn't like the story from the start and although there was threat from acid leaks and a supposed war nothing actually happened until Jen turned into monster. Still glad those two are over and now I'm so excited for the finale although the wait until the next half might be a killer!

According to the Internet Movie Database the final episode of the series will be a multi-Doctor story as Tennant has been listed in the cast.

If true, I guess the McGann fans will have something new to complain about :lol

As for me "The Rebel Flesh" was all I could stand of the Moffat regime and I'm done until someone else takes over........unless Neil Gaiman writes another story.

It would be a surprise for sure, not a good one but a surprise none the less, imdb has had Tennant listed as the doctor since Matt took over just never changed for some reason. Moff is doing some good things and making true on the wanting to change things statement, hiring the guy who write 'fear her' however to do a two parter wasn't one of those wise choices. I'm ready fir Amy and Rory to leave the Tardis now though and while River was an annoyance I've enjoyed her and matts last two encounters with it's flirty overtones.

So far the only sort of "dud" this season has been the pirates one. Really I think this is the best series series since series 1. I'd even go as fas as to say my favorite story so far has been The Rebel Flesh/The Almost People. Yes, I liked it even more than Gaiman story. :eek

:horror better than the Doctors Wife? Well didn't expect that :lol

I expected at least two duds this season with the Lodger 2 and Mark Gatiss's episode since those two were my least favourites from last series. This is definitely a superior series over the last one in my opinion with more consistent quality compared to last year were 6 of the episodes where pretty naff:

Beast Below
Victory Of The Daleks
Vampires In Venice
Hungry Earth
Cold Blood
The Logger

Rebel Flesh had a great dark tone and I could see what was being attempted but I found them to be so dull! Matthew Graham has wrote 3 episodes and all 3 have been pretty poor and i hope Moffat drops him along with Gatiss and Gareth Roberts.

I guess others are seeing something I'm not because with the exception of "The Doctor's Wife","Victory of the Daleks", "Amy's Choice" and "Vincent & the Doctor" everything else just leaves me with a feeling of utter apathy.

I just wish Paul Cornell would get off his duff and start writing again for Doctor Who. I enjoyed his stories more than Moffats back in the RTD days.

I think that any of the writers who wrote a novel or audio when the show was off air shouldn't be allowed to write anything else for TV because they're all piss poor.

If hiring big name writers like Neil Gaiman and Richard Curtis for a whole series is too expensive then I think it's time some more from outside the Nu-Who "family" are tried as it seems that the current crop are happy to be mediocre, especially the man running the show.
