What is the correct terminology for pose-able plastic pieces of the 1/6 scale: dolls, action figures, or something else?

I call them friends :lecture

Would assume dolls have less articulation while action figures have more--and both can have fabric. But its also based on design. Mr. Green only have a few action figures.

Dolls are toys used to reenact the act of raising an infant etc.. All other possible figures are action figures, from barbie to hot toys.

Friends. Some of them soulmates. :monkey3

In all seriousness, I think the term "action figure" was invented to differentiate kids who collect G.I Joes way back in the 60's to make it less humiliating. It's like calling someone "obese" instead of "fat". :lol

no those are baby dolls. that's a specific type of doll

Modern definition varies and lots of time it overlaps as time, culture, and people change. And dictionary probably too slow to update.
