Dr. Doom PF Ex

I have a decent opportunity to get a reg Doom PF for a sub 2K price. It can be shipped from within Canada, so I would not have to pay customs.

People...is it worth it? Looks great in the pics...but, I will likely have to move out 3 or 4 in my collection to fund this (likely Thanos, Green Hulk Comi EX...probably a couple more).

if you have to sell other pieces for different reasons, then you might as well hold out for the Ex. version IMO. even buying one of them custom pimp cups will set you back $300-$400 after it comes in from Europe.

up to you and its easy for me to say what to do as I already have the Ex. so I'm a little bias....

Well...I don't HAVE to sell anything. I do ok financially, I can afford it. It's just every once in a while, I re-evaluate the stuff ("crap" if you were to ask my wife) I have bought, and decide what's really worth keeping.

Also, my ultimate goal is to save up to buy an Amazing Fantasy 15 (comic books are my first love, collecting wise). So, I am also looking to sell off some things to help finance that...although, it'll likely be a few more years before I have enough for that.

Personally I would much prefer to get the LSF, I think that top's the PF IMO but saying that I'm not that bigger fan of the Doom PF believe it or not. Sorry in advance for that

That's true...it would look great in person, I am sure...that's why I'm giving this serious consideration. I know the Doom LSF looks incredible, but I think that the only LSF I would consider would be Spider-Man.

Anyone in the Edmonton area have the Doom PF? I'd like to see one in person before making a decision...

I have tried to contact that seller...can't seem to get a reply out of him.

But...I wouldn't be spending 2K on the reg ...there is potentially enough savings here that would make the reg worth it.

You're 100% correct. But when you sit down and think about it, people are insane for spending any amount on any collectible. Comic books, statues, action figures, stamps, coins, trading cards...you name it, what are they really worth? You can argue that nothing is worth what we pay for it, but we all keep spending, don't we?

Thanks Steve everyone blames me I've said it before mate, you remind me of how I was when I first started the hobby...had to play catch up in the first year and most of those pieces are the ones you have already got...infact you probably got them faster than I did! But Hulk is probably one, if not the best PF in my collection and is an old school classic and a must have, especially as you already have Captain and Thor. Now that you've dropped the Wolvie LSF it's time to get the Hulk PF

The combination of paying in Canadian dollars (fellow Canucks know how important that is), having it shipped from within Canada (no customs, no sales tax either), and the overall great price (relative to what I've seen this thing go for) made it a must buy. Bit of an impulse buy, but I can swing it. The EX would have cost me at least $600 more, the LSF, who knows, a $1,000 more? Besides, as awesome as they look, the only LSF I want to own is a Spider-Man.

Awe man what I would do to own just the Reg of this piece. He would just Dominate my collection and I think I have some pretty nice pieces to contend with. Not all 1/4 but all premium pieces imo.

Save up. Keep checking eBay the boards are your best bet though, eBay prices can be a bit mental. If you really want one, one will turn up though

I feel the same about The Lord of Darkness 1:1 bust. That piece has eluded me for the past 2 years and the only time i had the opportunity I got to buy it I had no funds available
