I mentioned I might put pics of my comic collection so here we go. I started out with Spawn and just Batman when I moved to the US in 2005, then Batman became Batman-family and the DCU/Vertigo. Almost all my comics are TPB.
I very recently got into Marvel and I decided to go the OHC route for them so mostly Omnibus.

Sorry about the blurry edges, I broke my lens' plastic mount and had to superglue it back. I really need a new lens

I tend to only read in bed before going to sleep so my reading if fairly limited, and between comics, manga and books it's a case of "so little time..."

How's Batman war games?

I haven't gotten there yet. I'm reading them chonologically and I got stuck for 2 years waiting for the stupid KnightQuest to release in TPB. My next trade read is Contagion so I have a bit to read before I get to War Games.

Yeah I'm a Batman freak through and through. What really got me started though was getting the Spawn collections because I LOVE the cartoon and I wanted to see how the story progressed.

As far as Marvel my only exposure (aside from Spidey 67) was the movies but recently I watched the awesome Spectacular Spider-Man (which was criminally cancelled after 2 seasons) and I was curious to read the comics to get the true history.
Thus flood gates opened.

Yeah it can be hard to catch up on the game. I'm not sure what Kneeling Vader is worth these days.

A fairly sizable one yes. I collected manga way before comics back in 1994.

It should be yes!
I've always wanted a prime lens and I was debating between this, the 50mm and the macro 40mm.
Since I have a D90 the 50mm was an effective 75mm which was way to zoomed in for me. The 35mm is an effective 52mm which is much better. And even though I photo statues it's not really macro but more like a small portrait so i decided against the 40mm.
The reason it's cheap is because first of all it's prime so no zoom feature and second I got the f/1.8 model. The f/1.4 is closer to $500.

I was supposed to get it tomorrow but I checked UPS and it's out for delivery!

Congrats on the new lens Mel. I feel 1.8 is more practical because usually these lenses are sharpest at f2, 2.8, 5.6, etc. so 1.4 is only if you want good Bokeh but the image won't be as sharp. But that again is a different point of discussion. Do upload so statue pics once you get this baby in hand.

Here we go new lens!

Nikkor 35mm AF-S f/1.8 G

The first two pics of from my kit lens 18-105mm, the next three are my new lens.
I didn't change any settings and I took them quick and dirty. Since I don't have a new statue arrival I grabbed one of the few that was out of the box (in fact I lost his box! ).
