Actual liquid in the glass would not be advisable due to the likelihood of spilling and staining the sweater one day. But if you look at Hydeous' current avatar, the liquid ain't liquid. There's something Rainman's trying to translate, I bet.

The Elmer's Glue idea actually sounds good, though I'd have to see how effectively the color can be mixed; some paints form swirls in Elmer's, like the credits to an old Roger Corman "Poe" movie. I'd also try it on a test glass first.
